A very old Army commercial featuring an M1A1 main battle tank going airborne. They probably broke four tension rods doing that, which is about 24 hours of hard labor to repair. But like I said elsewhere, totally worth it.
Also, to a soldier, interesting to note the teamwork mentality they pushed back then and how different it is from the Universal Soldier mentality they push in the relatively new "Army of One" campaign.
Is this getting random enough? No? Hmm...
Sandwich hairs!! Derelict goats! Creamed spinach!

And now the FSM will smote me with his noodly appendage.
Though she was my favorite professor (because I learned a hell of a lot from her and she was funny as hell), it wasn't my favorite class. That would have to go to my digital filmmaking class, during my last semester. The class was taught in the extension building downtown, which is next door to Westfield San Francisco Center which contained too many good things to avoid (I spent A LOT of money there), such as Buckhorn Grill (mmm... tri-tip), Bristol Farms (fancy groceries), Sur La Table (kitchen gadgets), Beard Papa Sweets (cream puffs, *drools*)...
Anyway, the room was packed full of $10,000 Macs that we used for... well, not much. On the final day of the class, when we all had the premieres of our little productions, the teacher told us we could bring refreshments. When I showed up, someone was already there with a bottle of champagne and some orange juice. Thinking we needed something to go with our Mimosas, I ran down to the market and bought some Malomars and some other ridiculously decadent confections. By time I got back up there, some other folks had showed up with tequila and vodka and a variety of other such things.
We got drunk, watched a bunch of mostly hilarious movies and graduated a few weeks later. Twas awesome.

Hellavision - I gotta watch that stuff again sometime. It was hella fun.
Be All That You Can Be - The documentary "The Men Who Stare At Goats" (not the movie as far as I know) has an interesting bit about the origin of that ad campaign. It was way more New Age woo than you might expect...
Beard Papa - We have one at Uwajimaya. It's a'ight.
Reminiscence - Glory days will pass you by, so sayeth the Cougar. I disagree. You enjoyed it and now it is done and OK then.
To anyone following my brother's self promotion, "Donut Time" on Hellavision features a blonde dude with glasses, who looks like a butchier, less bald version of yours truly. Who are these miscreants?

I had to stay up late to finish a paper that was due tomorrow today. Being late and yet still too "up" to go to bed, for some reason, I thought it would be hilarious to complete a virtual makeover on the internet, which lead me to Seventeen Magazine. I laughed until I cried and then I laughed and cried for several minutes more. Maybe it's delirium and maybe it was just fucking HIL-arious.

Cool stuff Brett! I like Beard Papa a lot, Chris is ambivalent about food if it doesn't have piles of sugared juju-babies on it or whatever. Haha you'll have to tell us about these internet makeovers, you mean like scrubbing up animated GIFs or something? Or putting fresh new lipstick on web 2.0? Me confuse.

Basically, you load a photo, it auto-detects your face (though you can fine tune it) and then you put makeup on it and plug it onto a glamour shot of a famous person. It was truly hilarious. I think the eyelashes were the coup-de-grace.

For some reason I've gotten really comfortable in this (admittedly small) community already. I dig it.
And, on that note, I will throw out a random, embarrassing tidbit about myself. I watch My Cat from Hell on Animal Planet and, almost every time, I get choked up, sometimes I even cry a little.
And, in a related note, I never watch Animal Cops, because that would undoubtedly lead to me becoming a serial killer. For reals.

Oof, my old roomate became an Animal Cop in TX. Hearing her stories, well, I understand why you don't want to watch that show. Some of the things she witnesses are enough to crack me up a little, and I haven't cried since I was like twelve.

@ Brett - rad! I lurve this community too. I wonder if you would like this Tumblr ? catshaming.tumblr.com/ The dog version is pretty hilar too. Ugh I hate anything involving sad/hurt animals, and I would pretty much want to destroy the world too. (Not a far jump to make but still...) ;O;

I am with you guys on both accounts. Hahaha don't feel bad about getting upset over a doco, I get upset just watching that episode of Futurama, when Fry's dog is shown in a montage waiting for him until he dies on the street.
