So, it is chicken, like driving at each other in cars until somebody swerves, made popular by Paula Abdul in her 'Rush Rush' video, if I'm not mistaken. Basically two 'straight' guys start touching and making out and kissing and what not until someone calls it quits, being said chicken. *sigh* Just something else I missed out on being a kid... or drunk collegiate.

Several years, I think, but I didn't interrogate him on the details.
A random iTunes "Genius" music suggestion that didn't really make sense to me.
"You have music by The Shins... [iTunes suggests] Everybody Wants Some!! by Van Halen"

Hey that was in the soundtrack to "Better Off Dead," wasn't it?

Hey. Hey. Hey. Is this thing on?
Hello nobody in particular. I just wanted to gripe about some oddities in the old World of Darkness games from White Wolf. I don't know or care if they've fixed this issue in 4th edition stuff because I'm not following those games anymore, but ...
The original game had some silly shit going on in it because Mark Rein*Hagen (or whoever) felt the need to use fancy words out of a thesaurus for everything. Like ghouls. Ghouls in folklore hang out in graveyards and eat corpses. Ghouls in Vampire: The Masquerade suck blood and serve a vampire.
OK, so sucking blood from a dead guy is kinda like "eating the dead," but past that there's no similarity to the legend at all. So if, after naming those vampire servants "ghouls" they wanted to put a creature into their universe that resembled the original conception of those things, they had to name it something else. Like "Eaeters-of-Deadde-Thyngies," or "Necrophages." Like anyone would use such a word.
This reached a height of stupid with the ghoul families. They invented clans of natural-born ghouls, that had served vampires and sucked their blood enough that they could have some measure of that power without needing fresh vampire blood. OK, fine. But they decided they needed a fancy name from the thesaurus. What did they pick?
Revenant. Which means something. What does the folklore say? A revenant is a type of undead that spontaneously returns from the grave to seek vengeance for some wrong (probably its own murder). So when they wanted to put actual revenants in the game, they had to call them "The Risen."
Anywee, thinkin' about that game because some weird trollock on KF comments keeps trying to liken KF stuff to Vampire: The Masquerade. This is a patently silly endeavor, but kinda infuriating because it's like telling us we're unoriginal. So I delete his shit. But eh, I had to read it. So the annoyance remains, until he goes too far and we ban his IP.
His newest nonsense was suggesting someone could find out about KF ghouls by reading a book about V:tM ghouls, which is not even slightly accurate, and was extra annoying to me because of my peeves about V:tM ghouls as described above.
And there you go!

Allow me to assist you in some things:
There actually is a 'ghoul' bloodline that has to eat more than just the blood of its victims, called the Nagaraja.
Also, people who liken KF to V:tM or any WW product are just blind.
Totally agree with your reasoning of Revenant vs Risen however. The only thing I can liken it to is the fact the Cammies have Ghouls and the Tzimice have Revenant families. And I think Wraith came as the 3rd expansion in the WoD so they kind of got almost as many shit names as Changeling, so yeah. Not to give that guy any ground to stand on, especially with the shitty naming he had. Of course, I kind of empathize with starting with one concept (Underworld) and then revising it... and then expanding the universe to include various other species of darkened beasts of the night and horror... but that's no excuse. I wasn't there, but my roommate was, but he's at work and he hates Mark for a SLEW of other reasons; selling out being the final straw, but that is for another day/night/convo.
But, simply because you can draw parallels to something doesn't mean it's ripped off. You can make parallels to anything if you try hard enough. He's just some sad child who can't understand his comments are inflammatory to people who create things. If it's the same guy who posted something akin to trying to call out progenitor 'clans' I remember him less than fondly. Even though I think he was the first time I commented on the KF posting forum thingy... ah, memories.
Anyways, I dug out the book for 'Ghouls' like a 'clan book' and I discovered the more accurate name for them is Vassal, the vampire being the Domitor, if that makes it any better, which I'm not sure it can, but hey, I tried! *hugs*

Yeah, it's that dude. Sometimes he posts about pop songs instead, and he may not be malicious in his rudeness, so I'm hesitant to ban him yet.
As for the Rein(spot)Hagen and WW, I have to credit them for making a really cool product. As RPGs go, that series of games was legendary and deserved to be. Definitely launched more RPG-inspired tattoos than any other. That's what makes the little nuisances more obnoxious to me.

Oh, no. I only knew one. And the Sabbat around the bellybutton was done in ink I think on some chick... it wasn't flattering and eventually looked like a black blob of an anchor when the night was over but... ew. The cammy tat was... just... pretentious to the nines. I should have taken that as a warning sign instead of a 'Ooo tattoo' but when you're young and impetuous, you don't think about how that looks on your 'history' until it's too late.

I'm glad that history isn't usually asked for in job interviews.

It is just you. To Kelly & I, these people are so close in attractiveness that we are not sure who you are talking about. Based on your heterosexualities, the lady, I guess...?
