403's clinic was once Zaitun, a Tom Douglas Asian-fusion style restaurant. Now it has been stripped of its kitchen-y goodness, and left bare and relatively clean. The windows are papered over with newsprint, and the kitchen has become the clinic. The main restaurant area functions as a sickhouse with beds for patients. This place was hard hit by the Siege, but has since been cleaned out, and Dr. Bebe has since returned to continue her voluptuous medical-related activities. From here you can go to: Stairwell South

Ashley marches down with heavy bootsteps to see the only remaining doctor. His face looks moderately burned and he has no eyebrows left. It also seems he scratched it in several places. "...Dr. Bebe."

Dr. Bebe sat up in startlement, then walked forward to greet Ashley. The strongest light source in the dim space was from the door to the restaurant lobby, which was propped wide open. Dr. Bebe- "Aww. First thing I want to say is don't worry. You won't look much different from how you looked before when this heals. I mean, most likely, this is totally superficial. Now, let's take a look at it. Do you have any injuries I can't see right now, or is it all up here?"

"The only other thing I burned was my clothes, which thankfully did not catch fire. It was mostly my face." He adds for completeness. "I haven't seen it yet, but I have no eyebrows and I feel like I have had the worst sunburn of my life. " Considering his complexion, he likely did not get that sort of burning often, so this was not surprising. Dr. Bebe- "Yes, the eyebrows are obvious enough. Let's see... " She stepped away a moment to light the big lights, get a small flashlight, and came back to inspect him.

Alex burst into the clinic. He'd been delayed by a rogue untied shoelace."Doctor, can you prescribe this poor man a chill pill? He was all over the place yesterday ... first Pan Pac, then rescuing Mommas from ghosts, then crashing the party at El Corazon. I'm really super worried about you, Sir. This is an intervention. Haha, not really. Well, maybe. Oh, can people get fleas? I'm itching all over, but maybe that's just a mental thing. Because ... because you've been scratching your face so much, Sir, could be I'm sympathetic itching. Chill pill, aloe, I dunno. What if he took a shower in the rain with me, Doctor? Will that help the burn?"

Dr. Bebe- "Alex! Oh. Hm... Well... Now, let me break this down into bite-sized pieces, OK?
Ashley, use aloe or any manner of burn salve for the itching. It's easy to come by in the supplies. Follow the instructions - some of those use chemicals that can cause thinning of the skin, which is the opposite of what we're trying to achieve.
Alex, yes, fleas can be a very bad problem for humans, though not as much so as bedbugs. Any place we suspect a problem, we should take appropriate measures. If it's fleas on an animal, wash them thoroughly with shampoo, clean up the environment. If the carpet isn't out of that room yet, take it out and drop it in the alley. Well... talk to other people if you want a second opinion.
Psychosomatic itching is so common that it isn't even considered abnormal. Just say the word flea and someone will start to feel an itch. Nonetheless, if you have real reason to believe we have a pest incursion, do something about it quickly.
And I don't recommend rain showers, though I can think of a few people in the building who would like to see that, haha.
Did that answer everybody's questions?"

"There is no such thing as an intervention for being busy." He grumps, and sits back against the wall. He seems less than pleased with all of this. "...Do you have any aloe? I have not been sunburned in almost ten years." He seems particularly grumbly." Dr. Bebe- "You can find it in the comm center supplies, but I'll finish cleaning you up here and apply a little something in just a moment..."
"...I suppose it would be less dirty now, but I think rain water is fairly...well I hear it has a lot of chemicals in it." His mother had, after all, told him not to drink it. Dr. Bebe- "A lot of old pollution in Washington, it'll take a while to go away... Nonetheless, rain water is what we use for everything now, so what's a little more?"

Questions? He had a few. Alex waited until Ashley was finished speaking. Then, he added:"Also. In a brain scientist's opinion, if you behead a zombie, but the brain is not damaged, will it continue to ... quote unquote live? Also, who would like to see "that"? Is it Chelsea? I miss her so much ..."

Dr. Bebe had a weird sly look for a moment, then answered. Dr. Bebe- "I had the same thought myself, but the life of a zombie is more frail than you'd expect. The upper spinal damage destroys them." She finished the work on Ashley.Dr. Bebe- "You boys take care of yourselves, OK?"

"You didn't wake up Doctor Bebe, Sir. She's a professional! Professionals don't sleep on the job. Also, doctors can go days without rest, thanks to med school. Maybe that's why they're all so eccentric, huh? Ha! You didn't meet Doc Ortiz, did you? She's adorable. Oh, hey, I have something in my bathroom you need to see, Sir. Better settle this before Micah freaks out." He opened the door for Ashley. "Have a lovely day, Doctor Bebe! Oh, and you aren't eccentric. I was mostly talking about Victor and Ortiz. Also, my pediatrician was WAY too fond of his puppet collection." Dr. Bebe- "You're great. I'll see you later!"

"Thank you, Doctor." He offers more firmly, and then walks out with Alex after a pause. "Who is Doctor Ortiz?" He asks him, shifting his weight a little. "What do I need to see in the bathroom, is it another animal?" He hoped it wasn't anything else that Alex might need an adult to assess. Sometimes that boy was such a child. Sometimes...somewhat like a literal child. He wondered how old Alex was in his head. Twelve? Thirteen? It would explain some things well, but the boy was smart. Maybe a genius child. Ashley's expression didn't change as he thought his unusually thoughtful thoughts. "I didn't know they had puppets."

ANOTHER DAY.... Dr. Bebe sat back with her legs crossed. Nurses Columbo and Cathleen flanked her, attentive, but leaning against the counter. Dr. Bebe- "They seem a bit testy, don't they? Why do you suppose that is?"
Columbo- "Who cares? I don't want to let any creepy monsters into the building. If we figured out there was a way to tell 100% if someone's a monster by examining their assholes, I'd let a dude do the full proctologist on my sheet."
Cathleen- "That's nasty, but there's a point. It's not like we're doing that. We're just doing some simple non-invasive tests. 'Open up and say ahh' stuff. Why are they so bitchy?"
Dr. Bebe- "It's obvious enough. They're just getting here, already at a disadvantage due to the power dynamic, and we are making some intimate demands - or at least, that's the perception. They may feel like we're going to always distrust and scrutinize them."
Cathleen- "If you knew, why did you ask?"
Dr. Bebe- "A lesson. Always try to understand where people are coming from."
Columbo- "Man, for all we know they're coming from Hell's Steenking Corpsateria. Fuck 'em."
Dr. Bebe- "Nurse Columbo! You will exercise a gentle bedside manner or face discipline!"
Columbo- "Yes, Dr. Bebe."
Cathleen- "There's more now..." Dr. Ortiz, Phil Crisanto, Wil, ((and any interested PCs?)) came into the clinic. Cathleen started to say something welcoming when Dr. Ortiz dropped some shit in this cut. Dr. Ortiz- "What the fuck is this shit, doctor blondie?"
Dr. Bebe- "Well, that's a fine 'How do you do?'"

Wil- "Oh no, ma'am, no! Why are you so mad? I'm sorry, Dr. Bebe! We didn't know she was going to yell at you!"
Dr. Bebe- "It's OK, Wil. I've dealt with hot tempers before. Dr. Ortiz, I presume?"
Dr. Ortiz- "Dr. Baby? I'm Dr. Ortiz, right. Why are you inspecting my people? Do you have any fucking respect for my work at all?"
Dr. Bebe- "Yes, I am sure you do good work, but you must understand that the circumstance we find ourselves in has people feeling the need for heightened security."
Dr. Ortiz- "Secure this! You assholes think we're monsters? You're the ones who invited us into your lair. You should let us probe your shit, if that's how we're saying hello now, baboy."
Columbo- "...And that's where I come in!"
Phil- "You people are fucking freaks."
