Alex scampered back and stumbled on a piece of metal debris. He steadied himself against the side of a different car, his gaze locked on the broken windshield. He hadn't expected mush. How could anybody fight mush with a hammer? It was like punching a melty marshmallow. Sometimes a warrior had to know when to retreat. Alex sprinted after the others, afraid to peer inside the car.

Micah felt his heart race like it had been replaced by a jar of crickets. At least he could utilize his flight instincts, once everyone was off Micah went at his own pace, not as fast as he could but fast enough to be square in the middle. Who wanted to be first in line for being zombie chowder? He showed off slightly with the parkour in an attempt to prove he was more than capable, fucking Alex treating him like some nanna out for a stroll after breaking her hip. He got into the swing of it, almost enjoying himself. Say one thing about the apocalypse, it made a pretty good parkour course if you ignored the fact that you could get eaten or torn to shreds at a wrong step. Micah had heard if people paying hundreds for zombie simulations for fun, maybe that's what mummy kid thought of this? Some sick kind of enterta... Micah stumbled over an umbrella that had stuck in a odd angle from an overturned tire, he looked around hoping that Alex hadn't seen it. He continued on becoming less daring in his parkour. He didn't want to seem like a wanker.

Basil arrived in the alley with Ashley and Patti, smelling Brylcremier than usual. Basil- "Oh, dash it all. I'm too late to go save the tender young people from the dreadful ghouls..."

Sonya and Ben emerge into the wide alley, which is catching more sun than usual in the middle part of the day. The barricades at each end stand strong. Only Ashley, Patti, and Basil are present. Sonya blinks her eyes like a baby red panda or something, and stretches. It's like coming out of a jailhouse for the first time in a week. A weird part of you wants to keep going, get out on the streets... Sonya- "Hm. I wonder how long they take. Maybe we should go outside a fence and be closer to the school?"
Basil- "You're a mad little bird, aren't you?"

tab "Uh, yeah... Of course we've got to get closer to the school if we're going to distract those zombies. But first we've got to figure out which way they went, and which way they might plan to take on the way back, and in which direction we could lead all those zombies that we want to pull away from the school." tab After a sceptical glance at Basil, Ben looked to Ashley and Patti for answers. tab "Did they say what they were planning? I don't want to put a horde of zombies right where they're planning to go."

Patti perked up when Ben and Sonya came down. Basil hadn't spoken much since he came down, or at least nothing that interested Patti. To Ben and Sonya - "Hey, guys. Keep your eye out for a big, white cat. I saw him about thirty minutes ago in the garage but not since. I'm hoping he'll warm up to us if we ignored him and come out."
After a sceptical glance at Basil, Ben looked to Ashley and Patti for answers.
"Did they say what they were planning? I don't want to put a horde of zombies right where they're planning to go."
"They will be coming straight back up Terry then Westlake. If you really want to go out there, make sure you're leading hordes away from Westlake and Terry. Try to lose any followers you get before you come back, just in case they aren't back yet." "We plan to stay here and cover their return. Which I dearly hope comes very soon."

tab "Westlake up here, and Terry down there? So we could go down there and try to drag some zombies northward along Terry and hope that helps them some? If that's even possible." tab Ben nodded to Sonya, who looked like she was all ready to go. tab "I guess we'll see what it looks like once we get there."

"Be careful, guys. Move fast and don't let yourself get cornered in a tight alley... Come back in one piece. Each. So two pieces, individually speaking..." She rubbed the back of her neck. "Yeah. Move fast. Be safe." She went back to the parking garage and peeked her head in. "Tsh-tsh, tsh-tsh. Come on, little fur face. Show yourself."

"I can go with you if you so desire." He offers, he still had one good arm after all, though he had started to look under where the cat had gone. "Make sure you are ready, there is a large hoard." He keeps his voice down, no need to scare the kitty.

tab Ben threw a slightly alarmed look at Ashley. tab "Didn't you get shot? I don't think it would be a good idea for you to run around in the streets. And I'm not even a doctor!" tab Ben shook his head in mild disbelief. A doctor would probably have ordered the man to sit down. Or lie down. For a week, at the very least. But Ben had no idea how long it really took for the human body to replenish lost blood and close a channel going straight through the chest. He just felt pretty sure that it took more than a few days. And that lying down and taking it easy was a vital part of the process. Put up a sign: "Down for repairs."

Sonya- "Thank you, thank you! We will see what we can do. Mr. Basil, do you want?"
Basil- "My running speed is not what it once was. I surmise that I may be of more use here, covering the return of our champions and their meek charges."
Sonya- "Um... OK." Sonya went to the barrier with Ben, looking back at him with a smile. Sonya- "With no armor, you can go faster, yes? We will go to Terry, and see what we do." ((GM NOTE: For managing threads, let's keep Ben & Sonya action in here for the moment, even though it is technically taking place on Tha Streets. Sally forth!)) Terry is slightly zombieriffic, compared to Westlake. Looking south, one can see the street runs into a wall of abandoned cars at Denny. Looking north, in the distance you can see the open fence to construction on Mercer. Most of the zombies are out that way, and now, they're paying attention to Ben and Sonya...

tab "Looks like we'll have to run, and hope that they'll lose interest once we're far enough away." tab Ben set off southward along Terry, trying to avoid every zombie, but not willing to run as fast as possible, since that would make him lose his breath too soon. Much too soon. Instead he tried to trick the zombies by suddenly changing direction at opportune moments, and communicating those sudden changes to Sonya, so she'd know where he'd go.

((OOC--He was totally shot and shouldn't be going anywhere anytime soon, but is very stubborn indeed.)) Basil- "Ben is right, you silly man! They'll need us here when they get back, anyhow, right?"

Sonya hesitated to head south. Sonya- "You head same direction as Cornish, Ben! Maybe we should go to the zombie, run around them?"
