Overlap, culture-wise. Like movies and music and such. The number of unique movies I watched after 1997 dropped off precipitously, relative to yourself.

@chris= Ah! I love that they are based on older characters.
I like the creepy horror movie/dream vibe this is all based off.
I've loved our not-quite modern rps pretty nicely.
Really nice avatars and I got my own plotline! :DD

Thy Dungyeon Maestyr - I'm down with the mode switch! I especially love the crazy kid making the guy ooze to death! It caught me off guard, I was expecting Indiana Jones/lost ark face melting, which made it absolutely AWESOME.

Your world building skills are the best. Every time I participate in a game you both GM, it's like being immersed in a spooky alternate dimension that's much more appealing than reality, despite the danger. In this game, the atmosphere is extra eerie >o< I love it! And those kids are creepy little boogers I'm hoping to see the psychic baby from the Twilight Zone get explode'd by somebody. That's probably the best Halloween gift of all. Every time that episode pops up, hrrrrgh so much frustration. And the end never changes. He always gets away with it >.> Edit: I'm gonna see if I can name all the psychic babies.

Okay, these first three I recognized instantly: COME PLAY WITH US Wish him to the cornfield, Anthony! Angry Gage! (This kid frightened me when I first saw Pet Sematary, holy shit)

@mystery kid - That one is Lucius, the title character of his own game. He's the devil and kills people, basically. It's a much more boring experience than you'd think that'd be. Also: Hi, everyone! I just finished reading through everything, and theres definitely fun stuff going on. I'm especially entertained by the conversation in the car ride. Chris and I PMed earlier and I'm all spoilered out for this (in order to pass on some advice from one spooky GM to another ), and it's really interesting seeing how things are turning out based on the plot summary I was given. Your PCs and NPCs are totally engaging, too. They really add to the humor of the story.

Y'all can RP in two places at once if u like, but trend toward wrapping up the van ride shotgun conversation. Jara tho, you're only in one place, tagged thusly. Replies to ur posts over last couple pages, & last words of my night: Dr. Maneep Pamplemousse - If you read jaraventures AllAlooone, you'd definitely have recognized Mona. Jara's guy from before was modeled off R-Patts with some effort to smudge the likeness, but still ended up kinda recognizable. As for cultural overlap, we are all pretty disparate. Most of these folks have not seen the same Cronenberg movies as Kelly & I. Dr. Jar - Thanks! Dream logic is as important in Cronenberg stuff as it is in Lynch. Trinity - Spooky action fun is se necesita. George was a coincidence, that was all on tha fly. Just wanted to make the guys suspicious, coo that u caught that. Also nice to hear someone spell out that they noticed the jumble game. I forgot you had read the old Halloween adventure. Let us know if medical horror goes too far, but I don't think ur character is bound to be involved in any more. As to the 90s, haha, not likely to happen, but a fun thought. Anselm's story is set in the fake 90s. DKender - Aww, thanks. Of course some credit goes to old Cronenberg on this one, but it really ended up being a naturalistic synthesis of a number of his old movies & other things besides. Trying to make the baseline experience of the world realistic to make the surreal pop, I think we almost did better than he did. I got selfersteem yes i do. As to revenge on child actors, that thought definitely influenced us, hehe. Kristi is prescribed skeletons - we try yo. again, sharp eye. Welp, g'night.

If you read jaraventures AllAlooone, you'd definitely have recognized Mona. I was reading that thread, but when I read the first page, whatever device I was on wasn't loading the graphics that weren't in cache, so I didn't see the secretary. I went back and saw her. I'm not certain I would have recognized her on my own, but better than 65% chance I would have.
