On or off topic, but preferably mostly on.
Who knows the early films of David Cronenberg, such as Videodrome and Scanners? If you know those, you know the primary inspiration for this adventure. If you don't know & are curious, ask me or anyone else who is in the know.

Personally, I haven't seen The Naked Lunch. I read the book a few chapters past the most spectacularly offensive part, but didn't bother to finish it. Weirdly, the one part of the movie I saw was also next-level offensive, just in 30 seconds of dialogue. The Fly was fun and horrible tho.

No, it was a random bit where peter weller was talking about trans women as if they were the most disgusting thing in the universe, within the context of some internalized homophobia diatribe. Whatever the case, don't think I'll be checking out the rest. As for the original book, the chapter that reads like pedophile mass serial killer wank material was the one I managed to get past, but not by far. That shits was too edgay for me I guess. I'm such a square. Dr. Jar DKender Dr. Maneep Pamplemousse Trinity - When u get a chance, transfer your character to the appropriate section in the new Halloween 2015 area. Anyone with ambiguous roommates, please consider rooming with each other. You don't need to have anything at all in common - it can be a strict business arrangement between strangers, this kinda stuff happens all the time. We're gonna have a late start if we don't get more of you peeps in early. I probably should have mentioned this before. I understand my brother is probably unconscious at the moment tho.

I forgot to answer Sebastian's question earlier and there's just 2 hours to go, but Scanners is the less sexual of the two, which I think may be the best fit for most of y'all. It isn't on Netflix but Existenz is, and that may be relevant as well, tho it is later.

Well, I could talk a bit more about reading Naked Lunch, but it's off topic. Suffice it to say, it didn't have a plot so much as a series of vignettes, like a tour pamphlet for a metaphorical hell, but less appealing. The part that made that chapter the queasiest is a sense the author was at least up to half staff.
On the Cronenbergy tip, I'll say that the dude's early worked all explored aspects of body horror through a surreal lens. He decided to branch out and change his styles completely when he did "A History of Violence" & never looked back, so we'll ignore his 21st century stuff. His older things, of which you've seen a bit, were pretty successful in accessing the logic of dreams. Interesting junk. Our adventure won't be based strictly on any one of those shows, but does pull most heavily from the two I mentioned earlier.

Trinity - I made a few changes to your character to fit the needs of the adventure, nothing that really changes who he is. You can see my edits in red.

Going to paste my existing character text into the character thread and then edit it into the character sheet style. May take a few minutes since I will be multitasking myself a bowl of oatmeal.

Thanks... Deek & Jara are usually gaming all-starz, but are nowhere to be seen. We will proceed without them if we have to, tho. Thinking about the timing of it... Maybe after my bro gets his sheet done, we'll start then. a wild deek appeared
