Oh no, the novel idea itself is months and months old. I've only written about five chapters so far. I decided to dust it off for NaNoWriMo because I just won't finish the bloody thing otherwise!

So got tentative sprinters in DK and Indea, anyone else want to join in on sprinting? Next week we'll do a planned one which will be several million times more hardcore. HARDxCORExWRITING So far I am at 0 words but I have taken very good care of my virtual monster condos.

Indea - Kelly has committed to definitely not posting his, thinks it worked against his mojo last time or something. I feel like, I dunno, maybe yeah? How would you like to do?
Milo - Yeah, officially you're not supposed to be working on previously existing projects. Kelly & I have a bunch of ideas on tap that haven't necessarily been worked on yet, so it's too tempting to use one of those. But we haven't written anything on them and our word count will start from nothing... Whatever the case, we're all technically "NaNo Rebels" - in the terminology of the forums there.

Similar to last year I think, I found the main positive was looking forward to reading other people's and getting inspired to write more from that. I understand not wanting to if it don't work for you though.

I post everything I write online, but I dunno if I count since I'm not sharing anything novel-y.

Kristi - It is more rewarding for the hardcore types to have something they feel like they're in friendly competition with - ie, a similar word count & narrative form. But you can post stuff in the same thread once we roll out. Or just drop links to your writing blog when it updates in the nanochats.

Being rebellious as I am I just look forward to writing and reading the writing of others during NaNo without thinking of it as a contest. I know a lot of people love competition, but I've never been one for it. Well, whatever floats your writerly boats.

Thy Dungyeon Maestyr - Yup. I'm just going to go ahead and be a rebel here. Not like James Dean though. I've totes got a cause. Also, I'm in for posting my stuff and sprinting!
