"What a lovely philosophy ..." Babette interpreted it in a 'quantum physics and magnets are magic, so don't try to understand them' sort of way, but to each their own. She spun around, more attuned with nature in death than in life.
"Now, this is what I hoped death would be. Equal parts horror and beauty. All we need is a handsome man. Like ... like bluesparkleGaston Louis ! So mysterious. Is he your friend? Maybe we can invite him to watch Lychgate." Her eyes shone (mostly because vampire eyes glint in low light but also because of the Gaston Louis dreaminess and stuff).
"What a cool cat."

Ellen- "Huh. Yes, I suppose he has a sort of appeal... I suppose..."
They reached the car.
((This might be a fun place for a Leo reaction, maybe we should call this a night here.))

"Gaston Louis eh? I can see it. He's kinda like the strong and silent type." She quickly climbed into the backseat and gave a dismissive wave of her hand."He's all yours Babs. Just remember that I got dibs on Santi." She sounded completely serious.

Ellen- "Hm."
With everyone in the car, the vampire mom fired it up, and they started to drive away...

ON RETURN FROM HOO RIDE, The ladies set up their snakey friend and called it a day. Ellen drew the heavy blinds and curtains into place and got into bed with Babette, Leo got into her bed, and they drifted to sleep...
Ellen- "Sleep well, ladies."
((Describe any dreams and I'll frantically try to get some graphics ready.))

Leo dreamt of sugar plums being eaten by said snakey friend all night (day?) and slept soundly.

Babette crossed her arms over her chest (because that's how vampires oughtta sleep) and tried to strike a serene pose. Hopefully, the dead rested like logs. It would be embarrassing to accidentally punch Ellen during a nightmare."Good 'night,' Darlings." She dreamed about violence and exsanguination. It was all frightfully tragic.

Babette, your dreams are invaded by a swarm of insects buzzing around your head. They flutter against your face and crawl over your eyelids, until you awaken. A swarm of white moths circle around your head, and flap off."Come to me, Babette." Ellen and Leo are fast asleep, dreaming their last vampire dreams in the darkened room. The voice, and the hovering moths, urge you to follow.

She rubbed her eyes out of habit. Chatty moths? How ghostly! Maybe Death intended to collect its toll. She slipped from the bed." Let's go, little moths." Babette would follow the call. It was ~destiny~ !

The moths fluttered down the hall, and slipped under the crack of the door."Come to me, Babette..." Babette slipped out the front door. The moths bobbed to the old abbey, over the gravel courtyard. Her bare feet crunched over sharp stones. The night was fresh, just a sliver of the sunset's red peeking out on the horizon. She must've gotten the call at the first glimmer of twilight.

She hurried towards the abbey. Waaaait a second. Wasn't that where Aubrey did his crafts? Uh oh.
She probably should have poked Ellen or Leo before scampering away. But who could resist death's siren call? Remembering that vampires had a great sense of hearing, she shouted,
"I'm coming! Babette is coming! Don't fret, little mothkins, I hear your voice!" and hoped that one of her friends could hear from the new abbey.

Babette came into the abbey, over the cold stone steps. The moths disappeared into the darkness down an unfamiliar hall. She followed, passing a row of grand, gilded mirrors. They stretched impossibly tall, into the gloom that gathered at the tops of the vaults. Golden sconces held faux-candles, battery lights twinkled and reflected off the polished silver panes. She caught sight of her reflection as she passed, tip toeing in the dark. Somehow she seemed vague, blurred even in the perfect clarity of the mirrors. The moths fluttered at the of the hall, and dispersed suddenly. A cold hand grasped her wrist.
Aubrey- "You awaken with pleasant dreams, I trust. Come with me, fair one." Aubrey stood inside a shimmering mirror, and pulled her inside. She passed through the glass; it felt like falling into a cold pool of water. She emerged into a dusty, but otherwise identical hall. The mirror behind her was now smoked glass, opaque with dirt. Aubrey- "Do not tremble, beauty. I only take you here to avoid that harpy. Her heart is dead to amusements. I have a prize for you." ~~~ Ellen sat up, blinking like she still needed glasses. She looked to the empty space where a Babette wasn't.
Ellen- "Oh no..."
((Leo can wake up here, but don't have her spring to her feet yet.))

Leo stirred slightly in her sleep, but eventually awoke as Ellen had. She rolled over on her side and mumbled, "Huh.. Whazzit--?"

She laughed nervously and glanced at the mirror "doorway.""Could these be illusions, Aubrey? How ... delightful. Moths are like a metaphor of fatalism. Is that why you summoned me with their exquisite little swarm?" She'd used the 'moth to flame' image in many a deep, dark poem."I am still enjoying your first prize. Look how they glint." She touched her earrings.
((That was a lovely description. So spooky I'd like to play a game of survival horror in Aubrey's abbey hehehe.))

Aubrey seized both of Babette's shoulders with his cold, eagle-like hands.
Aubrey- "Yes, yes! You understand! I was so right in choosing you, my fair poppy! " He spun her to face another long hall, and marched her forward. Babette hardly came to his shoulders, and he rested his chin on top of her head. Aubrey- "You are beauty incarnate, I only gild the lily but it is all I can do. To see my creations on such a fair creature will make my heart sing!" He shoved her into an black alcove, which suddenly lit with unnatural blue light as she bounced against the wall. It was an ancient powder room, coated thick with fluffy dust and cobwebs. Aubrey pushed her on to filthy old tuffet which puffed a white cloud as she flopped. He hummed happily, and twisted a corroded knob on a grimy sink, and it let loose a stream of stale, dark water. He pulled a yellowed lace kerchief from his sleeve, wet it under the stream and roughly wiped the remaining dried blood from her face. Aubrey- "First, I gild the lily, and then I will wrap it in its pretty foils." He picked up a crusted tube from a pile of indeterminate bottles on a dresser, and unrolled a blob of red wax. Then he came toward her...~~~ Ellen jumped up, and ran down the hall, whipping her head around. Ellen- "I know where he's taken her but I don't know where he's taken her. Help me look."
She ran to the old abbey, faster than Leo could hope to achieve.
