Patti and Lashonda settled in to room 709, one of the larger condos on the southeast corner of the building.
The room had already been fairly well appointed, but they carefully removed all of the personal effects from the space (storing them in a closet elsewhere, on the outside chance someone came back for it), and restocked it with the nicest things they could find elsewhere.
Both bedrooms were outfitted with top quality mattresses and Patti's had not one but four sets of drawers and an armoire. Some wire shelving from a closet organizer sat against one wall with dozens of brightly colored shoes on it.
Donovan had started playing nice with Patti after the siege and he rode happily over to the new building on her Sleep Number bed. Now he had a gallery of avant garde cat structures in the living room, with high perches near each of the windows.
(Might add more detail in here later.)

Patti rolled over and stared at her shiny metal wind-up clock. Five o'clock. She felt pretty well rested, so she reached over and turned off the alarm.
Donovan peered at her from behind the clock, then pounced over the top of it, landing awkwardly on the edge of the nightstand and the mattress. He scrambled up onto the bed and stood triumphantly on top of Patti, as if that was exactly what he intended to do."Alright, Sunshine Superman, what are we doing this morning?" She scratched him behind the ear, eliciting a low purr. He leaned his head in for a rougher scratch, then turned and gave her a light nip on the meaty part of her palm.
She wooled his head, flattening his ears and lightly tugging on his nape. His purr became a little louder."Yeah, I know, 'same thing we do everyday, Patti, try and take over the world'. You should get a new line." She lightly cajoled the cat off of her, climbed out of bed, and wandered into the bathroom. She brushed her teeth and washed her face.
Back in the room, she changed into her day 8 workout clothes (she had a 14 day rotation, which allowed ample time to air dry and reduced the frequency with which she had to wash them). She used a long, super light weight scarf to wrap her hair up.
She refreshed Donovan's water and gave him a handful of dry food. She was glad they hadn't come to the point where they had to feed the animals people food, because that would just be a pain in the ass.
Donovan ran in at the sound of the food and dug in immediately, purring loudly.
Patti headed to 403 to meet the others.

Lashonda slept like the damned, and didn't get out of bed until after Patti had left 403 for the Pan-Pac mission.

Another time... Patti and Lashonda were almost feeling better again. Patti, particularly was starting to feel the effect of the hollowing out of her stomach - hunger. Suddenly, a knock at the door. Lashonda- "Man... Can you...?" Who was it? Holy crap, when did he get back? Joe- "Got a hot mission for you. Seems like blood guy was probably headed to Southcenter Mall. We're gonna have to spend the night in Tukwila."

The second Patti came in the door, Donovan pounced and weaved between her legs in his best effort to trip her."bdddrow?" "Hey, little man. Whatchu doin'? Whatchu doin'?" She dropped her bag and scooped the purring cat into a snug hug. She nuzzled the top of his head while vigorously rubbing his neck."Sorry, Sunshine, I need to clean up and get some real food in me." She gave a him a dramatic boo-boo lip and then set him down, rubbing his head and tugging lightly on his ear.
She retrieved some clean clothes from her room and then disappeared into the bathroom for a good long while.
Donovan sat patiently at the bathroom door.

((Good post! Now establish later Patti, hanging out in Ashley's room at the 403.))

Patti was propped up against her headboard nursing a beast of a headache. She wished briefly that Donovan would come a little closer so she could pet him, but he was too busy looking out the window at the pigeons.
Since they had returned from the Madrona mission, her bite wound had become infected. They got on it quickly with antibiotics, but her arm still throbbed and she had fought a fever for several days before it finally broke yesterday. Fucking hell hounds.
She knew she wasn't going to get anything done today yet, but Ash had brought her some "chicken" noodle soup, made from grassy, gamy goose and fresh egg noodles, which was nice. If there were ever an avian flu outbreak, the enclave would be very sad, very quickly. She sipped at the broth which had cooled quite a bit from her last nap, giving it a kind of fatty mouth feel. She set it back on the nightstand and sighed heavily.
She popped her earbuds in and put on Temple of the Dog before rolling over and burrowing her head into her pillow.

((Ashley also brings Patti some bandaids. Only a couple are the right size for her injury, if they are placed end on end.
He's very proud of his "chicken" soup, by the way. ))
