Colt- "Cool it, Chuckles. Shake a leg."
I urged him along.

I shrugged at Butcher. At least he had stopped playing innocent.Edmund- ”Enlighten us. We’re all here for you. Where is it do you want us to go?”

Timothy- "I don't know, what would be most interesting for the readers?" He took on a snide tone, like a churlish brat. He was shoved (within legal limits) along to the stairwell.

I followed Mills from behind. My face hardened somewhat, that was a low blow. Had I even mentioned the book to him?.Edmund- ”The truth.”

Was that what Bassett was up to? Timothy must be trying to get a rise out of the doctor for talking about his grandma. Gerald - "I think that's good, Mr. Mills. Can everyone give us some space?" Don't want nobody falling down the stairs now. Once we had some room we began the climb.

The narrow stairwell forced the group to ascend one at a time. Butcher went up first, stepping back to allow the rest to enter the hall. There was only so much room though. These people were able to stand in the hall:
The rest would have to wait downstairs, or stand on the stairs and watch.
Those who went upstairs went here: horrorboys.proboards.com/thread/1041/514-south-waring-street-upstairs?page=2

I followed closely behind like gum on a shoe.Edmund- ”Was that the first animal you’ve killed , Timothy?”

Timothy gave a pointed look to Ryan. Timothy- "Only sick people hurt animals. I would never..."
Detective Butcher led the group near the front door, where the large chunk was cut out of the carpet. Joe- "So the dog's corpse was here... I don't think I need to get into what he did to it but it was unrecognizable by the time I saw it. Its name was Jenny. The kid had to be watching, can you imagine?"
Timothy- "Hey-- he can't just lie like that? Defend your brother."
He nudged his shoulder into Ryan with a subtle smile.

I held the prisoner back.Gerald - "There's no touching civilians, Mills. I'm going to have to ask you to give the prisoner more space, doctor, and no more of that whispering business." Everything Bassett said to Mills was aggravating him. Didn't he see that as his shrink? This wasn't the place.

How do you defend this, White? I was beginning to wonder if he had known what he’d been doing after all.

I sighed.Ryan-- "It's this kind of presumptive language that has convicted my client in the public eye. I would like to remind the detective that my client is only alleged to have committed these crimes. Unless you personally witnessed an event, I would ask you to choose your words carefully in mixed company.

Detective Butcher- "I didn't say he did it, but someone did it. Unless the dog-- oh I'm not even going to justify this. Let's move on..."
The chunk cut out of the ground did somewhat imply the shape of the corpse that had been there. And everyone had seen the sad remains projected larger than life. Detective Butcher- "Then outside-- the-- perpetrator took every one of the boy's possessions and started a bonfire. Every last book, drawing, and toy burned right in front of him." Outside the sliding door was a ten foot scorched circle, the grass burnt down to the soil. The sky outside was swiftly darkening to a denim blue; this time of year the sun set so early. Timothy- "It doesn't matter. We can't take it when we go."
Detective Butcher- "Are you kidding me? What was the point in burning them if they didn't matter?"
Timothy- "Stop talking. You're not supposed to be here. You're not here. You're not."
Detective Butcher- "Why do you keep saying that?"
Sounded like he was getting a bit heated.

I put myself between Butcher and the alleged perp's line o' sight, looking at my partner.
Colt- "Doesn't matter, does it? It doesn't matter."
Colt- (to the shrink) "There's no chance we're going to see what we came for here, right? And the tour is about done, isn't it?"

Edmund- ”Unfortunately it seems that way. Hopefully he will be more forthcoming on the ship. I haven’t seen this kind of disassociation before. He was less coherent beforehand but at least he seemed to know what he’d done.”

Ryan-- "Ah, the hallmark of any good shrink: objectivity. Please, let us move along."
