Vitus looked over the edge at them.
Vitus- "Hello Gracie. This is Eli, I expect you heard." Gracie- "I nevur."
Eli- "Hi. Yeah, all this stuff is a bit extreme-o. I was never a parkour boy, strictly land-based, this one."
Vitus- "The word is terrestrial, or fossorial if you were actually burrowing."
Eli- "Furso-- No fossorial... That's one for the ol' memory banks." Gracie- "Ya don't like rooftop bowlin'! It's like everyboddy forgot et existed when they stopped running those Taco Rocker adverts. Remember? Jammy Ibañez screamin' 'WeeHOoo!' wid 'is face all painted tyger-like?"
Eli- "Oh yeah, I remember the merch for that. Those vinyl masks got recalled for turning kids orange, wacky times, man." Gracie- "Oh yeah, orange babies hur hur hurr... Too much safety regglation I think, takes the fun out. Hey, we're neara roof now, ya wanna be bowled off? 'Sgood practice for flyin'." Eli- "Haha, nah, I'm good. I'm kind of a supernatural weenie so far. Gotta work my way up to the big boy stuff."
Vitus- "Yeah, he hasn't even gotten into crawling on walls and such. Ease up." Gracie- "Awwrr! Well, can we at least paint your face orange?" Eli- "I guess I don't have to worry about chemical burns anymore, why not. This seems like the kinda place for body-painting, doesn't it?" Gracie- "Body paint now? Corrr, what kind of candy- clown scenes art thou inta, Elijer?"
Vitus- "Maybe it's time we found a different scene for our young man."
Eli- "Hey, I'm cool. I do the scenes, man. Well, maybe you're right... Got important vampiring to do." Gracie- "Ya've got my spirits lost in endless vascillation."
Farley- Vitus- "Cool it, Grace. Let the babe rest." "Good night, guys. It was nice to see you, hope to do it again."
{originally} "I guess that..isn't so bad." He looked down.

{originally} Vitus- "Sinking? I guess that's a way to describe it. I always think of it as falling, like laying down to sleep. It's like the world wants you to go to sleep."

{originally} Vitus- "I don't know. Occult laws aren't as well described as the material laws of physics. Seems to ... Ugh... Um, seems like vampirism is a spiritual and physical state with rules that have more in common with magic than with science. If I remembered that right. Talk to ... Ellen..."
The sky lightened to a salmon pink in a foreboding streak across the water. Their powers were definitely completely gone. No heat motes from cell phone batteries and dock lights. No multi-layered scents of every artificial and/or marine flavor around... But the sun wasn't quite in sight yet, undoubtedly hidden behind that short stretch of land to the southeast.

{originally} Jason looked out into the sea and kept quiet. He tried in a positive attitude and let himself stay happy for a minute longer.
As always, a happy Jason is a non-violent Jason. "..."

((Once upon a time, I wanted to give people daylight faces of misery, but ain't been able to. Ye'll have to settle for what you have.)) The thermonuclear device broke the horizon in a sliver and poured searing lines of fire onto the rippled water. It was pretty easy to look away, frankly. It didn't burn the skin or any such thing, but it did leave them feeling unwelcome, miserable, small, and ready to sleep.

{originally} "I guess." Jason tiredly turned away from the sun.
"Damn, this sucks complete ass."

{originally} It took him a moment to respond, Vitus- "... ... wha... yeah.... ugh. I would never go out without sunglasses normally... Didn't know..."
Well, the sun wasn't completely off the horizon, but they had watched it dawn - insofar as that was possible. The taxi wasn't there yet.

{originally} "Just curious, is it only the sun that affects us or bright lights in general?"

{originally} ((Your guys should totally have graphics that look like this:))
Vitus- "... buh.... You guys... It's, um... Yeah, sunglasses help, you can't look at the sun but this... not as bad."
As much as it was difficult for them to focus on anything or tolerate existing as the sun grew brighter, the vampires could find it very easy to imagine forms of relief. It was like their mind was offering them ways out, and it answered the questions for them before Vitus could stumble through the syllables. Eli could easily imagine the relief of some kind of shading over his eyes, Jason could imagine the difference of walking out of this hellishness into a brightly lit ShopMart - the artificial light would be cooler, no question.
A car horn jerked Vitus to his knees, then to his feet. He stumbled off down the dock, waving to the taxi back on the street. This left them alone for the moment, and they knew damn well they couldn't be overheard now.

{originally} Jason slightly smiled at the look of Vitus stumbling down the pier- sadly, that was about to be him if he was exposed to the sun much longer.
Tiredness always made Jason a tad bit cranky..especially now.
He made an attempt to keep a good attitude. "Its better that he followed us than if Angela or Gaston did." He gave Eli one of those so call 'side hugs' while keeping a hand covered over his eyes. "Relax, we had fun though, right?"

{originally} As soon as they got in the taxi, they noticed Vitus had seemingly died.
Homeward bound like Saul Pieman and Garth Buttfunkel... Getting away from the low buildings of the waterfront was great, with artificial canyons of the city shading them from the oppressive orb. Sadly, the buildings got pretty short again as they came to the neighborhood of the estate...
((Time skip until next significant event?))

THE NEXT NIGHT!
Jason was upstairs (Skull go there when tagged) in his bedroom and Eli was down in his, on these here Lower Floors. He awoke with a bit of a start, to see... No one around. Time to get ready for another night of foolery. Glancing over to the nightstand he saw his new phone charging away, and knew again that he could easily look up his friends - even contact them. But what would happen? It seemed unlikely The Circle had anyone tech savvy enough involved in vampirey doings to even catch on, as long as he didn't have spoken conversations in earshot. But could he be sure?
((What other kinds of turmoil does the small black monolith of his new phone bring upon him? Or does he just play Monkey Adventure? Also, I don't remember, but did Eli have any dates planned?))

{originally} Jason arrived to the lower floor then plopped down on the lobby couch as he always does. He searched through his phone to see if he could get ahold of Alexis through his social networking page.
