@ Indea- groovy! Whenever you're ready. (Amusingly, I am up at 3:45 am here ) You guys can get a preview of what you'll see when you get upstairs on the 3rd floor thread, should you choose to do so. Muahaha and stuff. @ dkender - thanks so much! We'll get you going shortly, watch the 'character origins' thread for him with my update. @ Gillsing - thank you for the recap! Muchly appreciated. <3

Oh, I don't mind if you monkey around with my posts. Experiment away, and we'll find out what works best. When I copied and pasted the Patti-Ben-Sonya conversation into the First Floor thread, I slightly modified Ben's previous post: Since Patti didn't grab Ben's hand while it was offered, I moved that hand to after Ben's response to Sonya. Now I intend to await Brett having Patti introduce herself and then possibly lead Ben and (Ben is hoping) Sonya to the third floor. If Sonya would rather stay at Daiso, there would be a reaction from Ben that would happen before leaving her (a disappointed "good bye and stay safe" mostly). But other than that he should be ready to arrive at third floor.

Excellent, we'll see what Patti has to say, and then feel free to let Sonya follow you up there.

MY POSTS WILL NOT BE MOVED!!!
No, you can move them wherever they need to be to keep things consistent and eventually I will learn where to post things. In fact, Id' prefer you move them, because this board is kind of clunky.
dkender - I'm not sure how familiar you are with Seattle and I just wanted to share a few things, in case you pulled Seattle University out of a hat. SU is a Jesuit Catholic university. Also, it wasn't in the NCAA for a long time and is currently in the process of moving up from NCAA Division II to Division I. Their athletic program hasn't been really competitive for quite some time. I'm not sure where you intended Alex to fall on the talent spectrum or the religious spectrum, so I thought I'd share this info, in case you wanted to rekjajigger your character profile.

Oh, I can see we're mostly creatures of the night around here. I'm in the midwest (Kansas City area ) and usually in bed by 11 CST. I have to leave early in the morning for my work study job, but I am still likely to respond to the game while there (9-12 CST) or in the evening. Or on the weekends. Just none of this 3 AM PST stuff. Whew. I'm too old for that shit.

Hmmmm.
Compiling and reposting conversations from the conversation thread to the RP location threads sounds labor intensive for whomever does it. Though maybe I'm just projecting because I'm profoundly and abidingly lazy.
Perhaps we should reconsider just leaving convos in the RP thread for now. Or alternately stick with what we're doing and see how it plays out longer-term.
I dunno.
Also, I know I keep whining about the board interface and things like that, it's really not intended that way. I'm sure I'll adapt to the new format eventually. You have to work with what you've got and I know web-hosting is not cheap.

My sleep cycles are generally about three hours long, and I usually sleep for one or two cycles before I get back to the computer. I don't think people should be expected to participate in a forum game more than once every day or so, because usually people have stuff to. Even I have stuff to do, and I'm an unemployed slacker with no life. (Stuff = read webcomics, edit webcomics, read stuff on the net, watch YouTube.) And it was clever of you to have Patti hand the ball to Sonya. Now it's suddenly Kelly's job to describe the entiiire journey to the third floor!

I am all for things being re-jimmied! Or... whatever it was! Also, my two-cents on the conversation stuff - I think I sorta liked gillsing's idea, that it'd be sorta, chatbox random conversation on the side. 'though I'm willing to roll with whatever people decide to do. I'm used to just going back and forth in the RP thread itself, 'though yeah, it... works best with one-on-one RP, I guess it might get kind of confusing once we've got all of the characters in the same general space talkin' at one another. DKender I did indeed see The Corridor! ... generally if it's on netflix instant-watch in the horror section, I probably watched it at some point or other. >>;

@ Gillsing-- Ahaha, yes it will be terribly difficult for me to write "They went up the stairs, it was mad spooky, yo." I will try to throw some more flair on it though. Also, your job sounds a lot like my job! You edit webcomics? Or is that just our vital typo correction services that you really ought to be compensated for? @ Brett -- no prob bro, I find myself cranky with interfaces as well. I find here and there I can actually modify the board in helpful ways so do let us know things that could improve. Good advice to dkender too, I misread the college as just SCC and don't know nuffin bout no sports. Good work! >>Also about conversations, I think I'll wait to re-compile until we're to a good transition point, perhaps when everyone gets to the TV/wherever they're going currently.

@ Gillsing-- Ahaha, yes it will be terribly difficult for me to write "They went up the stairs, it was mad spooky, yo." I will try to throw some more flair on it though. I blame the other players. They scared me. Made me think it would be dangerous! But having some official, 'Word of God' closure to a scene might be a good idea. And this seems like a good occasion to report that I added Ben's car and the contents of its trunk to his profile. The car didn't look that big without a person standing next to it, but my sister (who also drives a Toyota) said it's kind of a gas-guzzling SUV. I bet it made Ben feel very powerful and on top of things when he was driving that around. Also, your job sounds a lot like my job! You edit webcomics? There are many webcomics with typos out there, and a few webcomickers have seen fit to have me check pages before they are posted. So I've received pages ahead of time from such fine comics as Indavo (finished, but is coming back), Shamus Stone (finished) and Tomb of the King (on hiatus). The only current project I'm working on is Blade Bunny, but it's quite a bit more work involved than just reporting the typos. Or is that just our vital typo correction services that you really ought to be compensated for? I figure that the least I can do when people are nice enough to share their work for free on the net is to help them out. And now you're running a game too. That's like... over-compensation. I should be compensating you. If only I wasn't such a cheapskate. Though perhaps I should instead sue every webcomic I've read and claim that they've ruined my life with their tempting escapism? I could have been somebody if I didn't spend all this time reading webcomics! I could have been somebody who'd have time to play computer games. You monsters.

@ Gillsing - I LOLed. Wow, what a service! It's too bad paid editing jobs these days are getting cut because 'spell check exists.' (Like that was ever a good reason. -_-) We definitely appreciate your work! Good idea w/ the car inventory, it waits for you down in the garage.... with the open gate arm.... >_> *soft chuckle*

@ Brett - Thanks! I'm not familiar with Seattle at all, so I've been googling for resources. I chose Seattle U because of its Jesuit backbone - Alex's college decision (like most of his major life decisions) was strongly influenced by his Catholic parents. This is unfortunate for him, because he'd rather attend a university where he can let loose a little and challenge himself athletically - he's also not all that religious. One character aspect that has been bothering me is: why would Alex go to Seattle, instead of attending one of California's institutions, like U of San Francisco? Maybe he wants to put some distance between him and his family, or maybe Seattle University's campus is nice. As somebody who knows Seattle, what do you think about the campus? kilnarak - We are kindred spirits.

Could someone tell me how HUGE that aerial photo of Westlake is? I tried to load it and it crashed my internet connection for several minutes, even after I closed my browser and restarted my computer. I'm not supposed to have these problems on my Mac. I'm guessing it's a very large file. Or maybe everyone in the cul-de-sac logged on to the internet at exactly the same time.
I visited the SU campus only once, when applying for a campus police job. It's on First Hill (Pill Hill as the old people call it), right next to Swedish Medical Center. It's a very short walk to the Yesler projects, so I'm guessing the neighborhood id very sketchy. It's a fairly small campus, all contained in the equivalent of four city blocks (though I wouldn't be surprised if they leased some neighboring buildings for additional space).
As for reasons to choose Seattle U, many people choose the area because they have family in the area (even if it's just a cousin) and because it has a fairly good reputation (even if it's not entirely earned). Possibly, he visited the city as a part of a nation-wide prep/high school conference all-stars tournament or perhaps as a part of a family vacation, and he just decided he really liked it.
I think the reason would be influenced almost as much by where in California he grew up as where he ended up going. If he grew up near the Bay Area, he might want to get the hell away from his family, but still go somewhere with a fairly liberal rep, like the Bay Area has. If he was from Orange County, perhaps he wanted to get the hell away from the stuck-up people, but had family in SF, so it wasn't far enough away for him.
Um, yeah, so... lot's of room for motivations, you just need to think like a teenager for a minute.

@ Brett & dkender-- great advice all around. Also, if he applied, he might have gotten a scholarship from the school, them hoping to improve their team. Even wealthy parents still loves them the crap outta some scholarships, so they might have pushed him on it, as well. & yes, sorry, that photo is gigantic-tastic. I should do a resize for non-crashy usages.
