The conference room is, to a large extent, inconspicuous. It features a whiteboard with pens, every other one spent. There’s a projector for presentations, while uncomfortable chairs sit around a conference table marked with patterns of coffee stains. The floor is covered by thick, dark-brown, wall-to-wall carpeting. Outside, the rain patters against the window. The weather has turned colder, dropping a couple degrees rapidly. The rain is turning to sleet. The heaters buzz and click, vainly fighting to chase away the bitter November chill.
Hangers-on stand at the doorway, though only a few are allowed to sit at the tables. Sitting at the front, by the old fashioned CRT monitor is Lieutenant Pierce. The beginning of his Powerpoint is already projected and he keeps wiggling the mouse to keep the computer from going to screensaver.
Sitting nearby is Detective Hickman, the lead on the case. Also sitting nearby are faces familiar to some:

I went in and sat at a table seat. I was important enough. One not so close as to grab attention but enough to be involved. Hopefully close to Butcher since he seemed the friendliest and the most interesting. I was a little nervous around Hickman since I got the distinct impression he didn't like me. Perhaps more than Colt does but he was much more forthright and uptight about it.

Detective Butcher- " "
He gave you a friendly look and then stared down at the conference table, fidgeting with the cuffs of his jacket. Funny to see him in a suit now, he looked like a kid waiting for his first job interview.

I came in and sat down at the opposite end of the table from the lieutenant. I smiled and nodded to the people adjacent to my seat. I took in the audience and assessed the atmosphere.

Rodriguez- " " Rodriguez glances your way and then feigns like he was just looking at the clock behind you. A few of the others make likewise, faces expressing suspicion or intimidation, depending on how you felt like taking them.

Lieutenant Pierce- "Welcome." There were only a few people in this room, a varied assortment. You guessed a few detectives, maybe some young people from forensics. There were only two uniformed officers and they didn't seem especially interested in their packets. ((Just waiting on Harriet & Heather, then we can begin.))

((I'm just going to placeholder here for Jara & Tori, they can post at the end and I'll edit their posts here but we gotta get a move on!!))I walked into the conference room with my camera slung around my neck. I took a seat towards the back, trying not to bring too much attention to myself.

I glanced at the lawyer, finding it hard to conceal my disgust. Look at these fucking donuts, Colleen. Just, look at 'em.

Lieutenant Pierce- "So let's begin then. Good afternoon everyone, today you'll be walking the suspect Timothy Mills through the scenes of the crimes taking place at 514 South Waring Street and the decommissioned freighter on Zug Island. You will begin at the house at South Waring, then to Zug Island subsequently. We've gotten special permission to visit the island, but if you should leave it for any reason, you will not be able to return.
Our main aim here is to find the whereabouts of the missing boy, William Bedford. This is our utmost priority, everything else is secondary. Now please take a packet from the pile here, and review the contents on your own time. Some of you may have read this information before but please look over it again." A pile of thick envelopes was laid out on the conference table. The contents of which could be found here: horrorboys.proboards.com/thread/1028/police-report-timothy-mills-homicide ((If you don't read this thoroughly, we can assume your character didn't read it thoroughly))Lieutenant Pierce- "So let's have a look at the crime scene photographs." He began clicking through his Powerpoint-- images of the exterior of the house followed by photographs of the murders. If you haven't seen them before, it's just a total nightmare. It looks like scenes from an especially grisly horror movie. A mangled dog, a drowned woman face first in a bathtub, a pile of burned toys, a man slumped over a kitchen table with a fountain of blood on the wall behind him, a police officer crumpled on the floor in a pool of blood, a young black girl with duct tape over her face. The lieutenant reads the timeline, and names the victims and how they were killed.Lieutenant Pierce- "Then the second crime scene..." These were photos of an eerie, rusted ship, followed by a room full of arcane machinery. A pile of dismembered body parts in a gore-soaked room, ropes tied to pipes, a human heart on a filthy oil drum.((Everyone, roll Keep it Together (2d10 + Willpower) and describe how all this makes you feel. If you are used to seeing this kind of thing, you can add +2 to your roll.))

I'd seen the pics often enough - these specific images - but the girl still got me. I didn't know why I should feel more guilty about her in particular. Should I have taken Mills out in 2000? Gone up the river to prevent this? I knew he was going to hurt somebody eventually... Me and Joe are gonna get so drunk.

vClm_VxT Repressed Memories +2 Keep it Together Detective Butcher takes a loud breath a few pictures in. Not quite a gasp, not quite a sigh. He waits a couple pictures more, and then quietly stands. Detective Butcher- "Excuse me." He steps outside the room and down the hall.···

I become scared.I squirm in my seat as the images show up on screen. This is so different from the investigations I've been a part of before. I'd never seen anything quite so graphic, but I try not to let my discomfort show. Still, those were the sorts of images that stuck with you. Was dad seriously expecting me me photograph something like this?
