"No questions, Dr. Melange. I think your critical thinking will assist us more than put us in danger. I'll put you down in the 'Needs Life-Saving Measures' category just so you know." He rubbed his hands together tossing the rubber gloves in a small can, only making one glove into the wide rim. "I hope I don't have to do that again because it was exhausting... and not getting paid doesn't help it any. You know, I know you're quite a young lady, but one day, you had it set in your mind when your loans and bills are all paid. And that for me was two months ago." He laid back, stretching his feet. "So now its all moot. Micah suggested I pretend I was a painter or ballerina or something... it's a shame I respect my profession too much. So, who are you going to put at the top of your priority list? Anyone hit on you as much as they hit on me today?"

Dr. Bebe- "Haha! Splendid. No one hit on me, actually. So disappointing! Well, a little light flirting here and there... As for health, even the baby seems tip top. Of course, no one ever anticipates Sudden Infant Zombie Syndrome. Two notes you may require in the future. First, something to be kept in strict confidentiality. Kerry is a transsexual. At her age, she no longer feels estrogen is necessary, but she may have the odd health issue atypical of her presented gender. Next, Mr. Ashley lied about his occupation, and that occupation was clearly quite violent. I don't know if that may be medically relevant, but he could have issues related to past physical traumas. That's it!"

"Well, that's all good. In confidence, the child who apparently overdosed is not a suicide risk, well, as long as we can deliver medication. He will probably have to see someone more qualified than myself to say he isn't a risk; of course, I remember him being close to a strong individual so I doubt there will be any other risks for him. Ben, Micah, Patti, and Seth are all great, medically speaking. As for the others, I think it's interesting. Luke clearly has some problem, but it's nothing like I've seen for a while. When I talked to his roommate, he noted his fogging in and out of clarity. But, it's not dictated as usual, well, 'Sundowners' as it is called colloquially. Also, Volya and Hector aren't too much issues, but they will probably be people to watch in terms of the more archaic issues like gangrene and lice. "You ask people about their bowels, however, and everyone makes a poop joke. I swear, it didn't matter if they were twelve or two-hundred. Oh, and everyone asked if I was crazy; I'm intelligent and I see things they possibly couldn't comprehend. And Kerry should be all right, it is usually the other way round where you have to worry about uterine issues and the like. It would be important to know how long ago the surgery was, though, so as to add or subtract different complications with the advancement or lack there of in terms of medical progress." Dr. Victor rose slowly. He glanced about the room. "I honestly have no idea what time it is, but, I think I am due some form of pleasures of the spirits, so to speak. Would you like an escort?" Dr. Victor held out his arm for the lady, knowing the pressures of the stairs upon such heels and knees.

Dr. Bebe- "Kerry's last surgery was in the eighties, so ... It's all pretty old news by now. Poop jokes, hehe. What can you do? Luke is intriguing. Anyone who has the time to find out what's really going on in there will be richly rewarded. But that isn't me. Libations? Certainly."

Alex sneakily entered the clinic to look for bandages. He was being sneaky because Nurse Columbo scared him. Actually, all the doctors scared him on some level, even Uncle Victor. He hoped they were all taking a bathroom break or chilling upstairs.

Dr. Victor spoke from the shadows of the front door, where the light hadn't been able to reach with the windows boarded shut. "Alex, you're going to need ointment, preferably something antibacterial. Infections are all too common a cause for concern with the level of necrosis shuffling about." His words were neither cold nor heated, but simply as bland as blank paper. His eyes narrowed in the darkness at the frozen man. "And, for one more time, please put a shirt on. Physicals were yesterday."

"JESUS CHRIST!" Alex whirled around and faced the doctor. "You scared me! Uuuurgh." His heart was beating a million trillion times a minute now. "Oh, yeah, my shirt. I found a really nice polo earlier, but it smells like cologne and sweat, so better air it out a couple days. You know, to kill germs." He took care of his finger quickly. "Doctor, be careful during the med center thing. Me, Micah, and Patti were raiding the gym, and this HUGE zombie charged us. He was roided up, or something. Probably twice my size, and as fast and strong as a living person. We almost died."

"Yes, Alex, I do believe you. One often does tear ones nail when near death. I mean, who doesn't meet the reaper with a broken fingernail? After all, if I had pretty little hands and delicate nails, I'd want to make sure I fought off death with... what do they say, with tooth and nail? Tell me, did the big bad scary monster also chip your teeth?" His tone was flat, and he shook his head. "I... I'm sorry about the mood I'm in, Alex. It seems I have very few options for emotional responses right now... you best go on. I'll be leaving shortly myself." Dr. Victor turned away and leaned back against the wall, almost being swallowed by the darkness.

Alex raised an eyebrow and headed to the door, but he paused at its threshold. "Doctor, did something bad happen?" Maybe Mr. Ashley picked a fight with him. Or ... perhaps he just missed the good old days. "Can I help?"

"Alex, what you can do is remain young. And remember that women are delicate things with fragile personas and cast-iron determination."

Who'd imagine that Dr. Victor was having woman troubles? Alex glanced at the silver ring on his finger. Well, he knew all about that field. "Yes, Sir." He frowned vaguely. "Good luck." And so he left the good doctor! Still shirtless!

Shortly after that, Thierry came down, spelling the doctor from his solemn reflection. See UWMRC Trip Two.

Dr. Victor helped the stretcher into the small corner of the room, letting loose a breath of mild exhaustion. He pondered bringing the wheelchair upstairs, but instead found himself plopping into the heavy and comfortable chairs. He placed his feet up on an adjacent chair and curled his mouth. "You know, Thierry, I wonder if we really need, uhm, a clinical space. It's only served as a mor- well, nevermind. I don't mean to tread on tender nerves. What I mean, well... No, I'm just distracted. I apologize." Thierry- "Haha, well... It's a dark world now, and a fair time for dark humor."
"Egos, you want to know about them? You're a sports player. Every player feels they are an expert at some aspect of the game, be it position, technique, regimen, attitude, what have you. Well, at least they have teams. Now, try to hold your own against someone who focuses on different parts of the whole stadium. What if you had to shut up and listen to the guy who picks up the trash around the seats, or the girl who sells hotdogs, or the ticket vendor, and the refs and then the other players and coaches. What if no one had a uniform or even told you what they were? What if people had the authority of rules and could make changes to the game simply because they wanted to?" Thierry- "Sounds like working at Amazon... Or maybe more chaotic than that. I tell you, I did not like the politics of my old workplace one bit."
He rubbed his temples with his thumb and finger, slowly shaking his head. "It'd be a disaster. Doctors are worse than sports stars or CEOs or even ancient kings. They truly feel they have power over life and death and their actions are what is saving mankind. It's sad, but true. I fought every day to deny death his cut or prove my worth to the families who suffered. It's a rush, man, such a wonderful feeling. Like a runner's high that never ends and can be refueled simply by an act of memory." Thierry- "I thought 'Playing God' with that X-Files gentleman was just silly, but to hear you tell it... Perhaps not."
"I know I talk a lot, and that's part of it. But, Franco's one of those guys who is worse than I am. And usually wrong." Thierry- "I'm glad then that we were able to warn those people about how to deal with ghosts. Disaster averted? Let us hope." They continued to unload the goods.

Thierry- "Charlie, I have hope for you. Sometimes you seem like you're on the edge of a knife, but with some understanding, maybe you can find a better way to handle this new life of yours. What do you think?"
