Patti charged her first zombie just a few seconds out of the alley, a Geek Squad employee shambling about on a shattered leg. She swung the hammer, missing slightly, but tearing the creatures jaw off and sending it flying. She couldn't quite recover quickly, as she had expected more resistance to her swing and had too much force behind it. She spun a 360 as fast as she could, driving the hammer into the topside of the creature's skull. She pulled back and charged to the far side of the street, where a garage worker in coveralls with a tire iron sticking out of his chest stumbled towards them. She dispatched "Jesus" with a sidelong blow to the temple. She moved back towards Ashley and Tyrone, who were taking care of business themselves. "We don't have far to go, just a block and half. It's the bright yellow-brown building on the south-side of Harrison up there."

Seth, Alex, and Stevie were doing most of the running around - work Stevie wasn't quite cut out for - trying to preempt zombie mobbing with strategic strikes. Stevie used his katana to stab in temples and eye sockets, saving the chopping action for if he ever got a good shot lined up - hard to do on the go. Micah was able to let Alex do the heavy bashing, by sticking with him.
An unusually fast zombie got through them to run at Abdul's group! What do you do?

Alex suddenly noticed something of potential interest to him, right next to the place they were going! A richly yellow-painted building with a bold sign featuring a cross! Kaufer's Religious Supplies!

Ashley nods to Patti, and then notices the sprinting zombie. He rushed it with his pipe, and tried to get a good swing, but the thing tripped and he missed entirely. CLUMSY, damn. He stumbled over it a little himself, thankfully avoiding the biting parts of it. He looked up and around and then brought the pipe down on it's head, over and over again, until it was just a pulp...not..quite enough. He panted and looked at the others, before swinging the pipe up on an approaching man. He felt a pang of regret, but only a pang, before caving in half it's face. "So...only the brain works, right?" Tyrone- "Pritta much... Damn it's nicer t' use th' guns."
He wondered if there were any more of those talking ones out there. Those were the only ones that freaked him out. "Take this. This is my boomstick!" He muttered to himself, swinging the other way to finish disabling the damn thing.

Abdul and Tyrone had to run around clearing up more of the zombie mess so the group could keep moving. Abdul said to AshleyAbdul- "Our technique needs work... We were too slow! Fortunately the traffic jam at Denny hinders many of those who have taken notice of us."

Alex froze in his tracks in front of Kaufer's. "Hey! We should go there! They probably have wine and cand … wait, what day is it?" Oh no. Noooo. No, no, no! Swept up in all the horror and excitement, he'd forgotten ... "SHIT!" It was Easter weekend. He completely missed Good Friday. Alex realized, with renewed horror, that the antichrist mummy was mocking Christ's sacrifice and resurrection by raising the dead during Holy Week. "Ahhhh no, Micah, Micah, I'm damned ... I ate so much meat! Pig meat, bird meat. What do I do? You have to help me! Tomorrow's Easter!" Clearly agitated, Alex clutched at his hair with his free hand. Seth- "Oh man! I forgot too. Maybe we can dye any leftover eggs in the refrigerator with Zoe tomorrow. We can hit the religious store on the way out."

With some helpful kicking from Abdul, Seth got the door to City Hardware down. The inside was of course, pitch dark, and tightly packed with narrow aisles. Seth- "This place isn't that big, we may as well split up and make use of our grand entrance. We can hit the religious store on the way out. Abdul & Company, want to go somewhere else, or just load up here and book on out?" Locations: There's an art school across the street, Jones Soda HQ down a block, another wine place, or anything else you can see nearby on this map: goo.gl/maps/NzCt7

Micah gave Alex a pat on the back as they made their way towards the hardware store."She'll be right mate, god is a forgiving sort right? He'd understand, maybe you can go veggo tomorrow to make up? A few hail Marys and Bob's your uncle and Fanny's your aunt." Inside it smelt like paint and faintly of sawdust. Micah squinted trying to adjust to the darkness. He had never been handy, so it all looked pretty foreign to him. Micah- "So what kinds of things are we looking for exactly? Anyone remember a torch..." Stevie handed out flashlights to the ill equipped, turned on his own, and set out in the store. Stevie- "Still might be zombies or worse in here... watch yourself."

Abdul- "Most of what Patti mentioned is in the hardware store, if its to be found at all. Any other ideas?"

Seth- "Stevie's search is gonna take a long time. Why not have one group grab some big stuff and tear out of here? They could go back home, stop somewhere else... whatever. Might as well use this big group to our advantage"

Alex raised his hand. "I'm up for that, Seth. Me and whoever can load up here and stop for other stuff on the way back." He snickered suddenly. "Heh. Micah, my uncle's name really IS Bob, but everybody calls him Brick. How'd you know?" Seth- "Sure, you could load up one of these carts. They aren't very big, and might make a racket but we could run 'em home faster than in our hands."

"Maybe ammo for Patti but I didn't see anything around here." He looks around and grumbles some more, hoping Mr. Friskers got out by an open window or something. Mr. Friskers was an Indoor-Only cat, he always thought he was doing him a favor by keeping him away from danger. He looks among the shelves for anything and everything useful, if there are shopping carts he'll use them, but he keeps an eye out for danger in the meantime. "Remind me what I'm looking for." He offers Abdul, eyeing the dark shelves nervously. Nervous and excitedly. He checked around for Patti and Tyrone to make sure they were safe and in sight, a hand on his belt reflexively, even though...well, there was nothing there. Some objects that could be used as weapons would be helpful.

"Ha ha , I can go with Alex if someone else can join us too. We can hit up the religious place next door as well." Micah looked around for someone to give him a clue as to what to grab and hopefully another volunteer. He didn't like the idea of going into that religious store, but he didn't want to leave Alex on his own either. He tried to ignore the feeling of impending doom growing in his stomach. "Maybe we should grab something weapon-like before we head back out. Do your hardware stores happen to carry flame-throwers, guys? Or a large shovel? A fucking chain-saw?"

Patti swung her duffel bag around front, unzipping it. At the front counter, she took every single lighter they had, regular ones and fireplace starters with the stems. There was also a Burt's Bees display from which she grabbed some soap and lip balm. "I got fire and soap. If anyone sees flashlights and batteries, give me a holler." She saw a shelf of vegetable seeds nearby. "We'd need to get some soil in a later run, but I'm gonna grab some seeds we could use to start a garden. Just in case." Melons, zucchini, radishes, carrots, peas, cucumbers, asparagus, spinach, beans... That seemed like enough. "I'll go with you guys. I saw some medium-sized propane tanks in a cage out by the mulch. We could pop that open with some bolt-cutters and take a couple for the grills. If we're lucky, we can come back for more at a later date." She went looking for the bolt cutters in the tool aisle. "Yeah, Ash, that's not gonna happen. They don't sell ammo at hardware stores in the big city. Maybe a Walmart in the suburbs, but not here."

Ash walked down the aisle carefully, and then found what he had wanted...A chainsaw...They needed gasoline to work it, but it could be useful, right? He picked it up and tucked it under his arm, in-package. Where would he put flashlights and batteries? He wandered to the front of the store, because that's where he remembered they were supposed to be. A lot of little pen lights, and turn around ANNNDD preso, a bunch of flashlights. Cheap ones, batteries on the other side. They proved deceptively heavy, and he had no extra bags. He stuffed them in his pockets, and then in his jacket. "Patti, got a moment?" He had no extra arms with which to defend himself at the moment, and she's greeted by the appearance of a moron who has decided to take a chainsaw instead of more useful arm-filling.
