(The action with the doctor as well as info about what's going on generally is now back in 3rd floor, but Micah, Nat, Basil Creeper, and Patti seem available for conversation. Remember things are pretty tense - screams of horror from outside and whatnot)
The people from downstairs, with help from Anna and others, were brought up to speed on the news report - That gutless kid claimed to be part of a larger group, who somehow sent "the dead" to exterminate the human species. News reports suggest the dead are returning to life as zombies, though we have yet to see that, and that a terror attack at the Columbia Tower may have something to do with this. Everyone compulsively checking notes that their phones still have no signal.
Anna- "Everyone who feels like they can, make a weapon. We're supposedly going to get attacked soon." She began stomping on a flimsy metal food court chair, hoping to pull it apart to make clubs. Most people seem too dazed to join in.
Sarah- "Everyone calm down as best you can and stay close together. You in the corner! Come over here, thanks! We don't know what to expect but we're safer together."
Basil- Basil sprayed some cologne onto Nat's sick, and covered it with a coat someone had left on a chair. "There you go young man... Good enough for now."
Random Guy- "HEY LIMEY! That was my goddamn coat!"
"H-Hey, um, sorry." He pushed his glasses up to the bridge of his nose, looking a little flustered. That entire ensemble looked like something Ari would have worn, coming back to the house after a night out clubbing. "That's, um, nice. That you found some clothes, I-I mean."
Nat glanced down a moment, then back up. "Did you, um, did you see anything else we could use? Batteries, flashlights? B-Bug-out gear, you know? Or um, or salt?"
"Sorry I didn't take that much time to look, but yeah could have I guess...It's kind of occulty in there. Bug out gear? What the hell is bug out gear? Ah.. this? It was this, or a mini-skirt and a cardie, I just don't have the figure for it" He grinned, hoping that Nat would catch on that he was kidding. The kid was pretty serious.
"Occulty...?" Nat furrowed his brows, frowning a little. Maybe he should look in there? "Um. B-bug out gear is for... if you have to bug out? Y-you know? Like, emergency stuff. Um, I, um, I guess I should go look..."
"I, ah, I bet if you tried, you could pull off a miniskirt." Nat smiled and offered a nervous laugh. "It-it would lighten the mood, maybe. Y-You know? Good for a laugh..."
(I wonder if some of those who were staying followed the group down to the garage so they could close the rolldown from inside once the group had left? Otherwise they've just been left with an open zombie entrance.)
tab Ben helped keeping the zombies at bay when they had to open the garage rolldown. Then he got into Kaito's minivan, where he sat, quiet and tense, knowing that everything was pretty much out of his hands until they stopped.
tab When they did stop, Ben got out and stayed close to Sandy and Sonya. As the zombies lurched out from the covered parking lot, Ben charged ahead with his bokken. A fat, bearded man in a blue shirt came at him with both arms outstretched, and a gruesome grin that showed bloodstained teeth. Ben quickly decided that he had to keep those arms away from him, and got in a good whack at the right one, shattering important parts of the hand.
tab But the dead man was faster than Ben anticipated, and soon his left hand had a grip on Ben's kote arm guard. That's when Sonya appeared with her heavy hammer, smashing the zombie's fingers and leaving a bruise on Ben's right arm. The zombie was really close now. Close enough to bowl Ben over, and as they both fell to the ground Ben had to keep those eager teeth away with his left arm guard. He was trapped under the heavy body, and was clearly losing the struggle when Sandy came to his rescue. She had a three foot long piece of rebar, and rained down a series of blows on the zombie's head, cracking the skull. Or was that Sonya's hammer? It was hard to tell, as both women worked together: Sandy from the left, and Sonya from the right. tab As the zombie went limp, it took the efforts of all three of them to roll it away from Ben, and he got up to join the survivors as they kept moving.
tab Once inside the 801 building, Ben was very eager to exchange information with Abdul-Rahman.
tab "I live here too, but tell me about that radio. And have you seen any ghosts? Or demons?"

Abdul-Rahman- "Oh yes, we've radios on the roof and down here in the garage. They haven't much range but they have been useful to us."
He showed Ben a small walkie-talkie device with "AMAZON" emblazoned on it.
Abdul-Rahman - "Ghosts... I am not certain, I am afraid. One zombie looked like a normal woman, and even spoke and lured us into her room. She floated and... well, it was rather disgusting. Perhaps this is a 'ghost' as you say?"
Doesn't matter much to me, as long as it's skeletons.
