Nat stepped from the dark interior of the apartment, into the just-as-dark hallway. While he had felt at least somewhat safe in the apartment, surrounded as he was by other people, the dark relative emptiness of the hallway reminded him of a scary movie. He almost turned and stepped back into the apartment, but Sarah was behind him and he couldn't stay there, not with the doctor shouting.
Nat padded down the hallway slow, passing the gaping black doorways that had already been kicked in - the korean-food apartment and the gothy-gay-porn apartment. As he neared the final apartment, Nat was surprised to see Alex standing just outside, talking with... someone?"Um... Is... is someone in there?" He asked as he came up, offering the shirtless Alex a small, nervous smile.

Grodin-Alike- "You really think I'm Charles Grodin? That guy is almost eighty by now. You're a strange kid." His manner was very deliberate and shockingly calm."Um... I'm not leaving my apartment. You can keep your guns and doctors, son. Wait here a minute." He went into his apartment, and the sound of a heavy piece of furniture being moved behind the door could be heard. Alex was alone with Nat, Sarah, and their candles in the dark. Sarah- "That was weird."

Grodin? Why did he call the nice man Grodin? And who WAS this Charles Grodin? The name just slipped out. Must be sleep deprivation. Alex only got a couple hours the night before, thanks to his roommate pacing back and forth like a caged animal. He wondered if he'd ever learn what upset the poor guy. He should have asked when he had the chance. "Hey, Nat. Sarah." He nodded at Nat and Sarah as he wiped fresh blood off his upper lip with the back of his arm. "Still hanging in? Hey, when we settle down somewhere, I can teach you how to hit stuff right." Alex demonstrated the proper batting stance for them. "Man, wouldn’t it be nice if this guy rustles up a polo my size?"

After a few minutes, the group waiting outside began to realize the man wasn't going to come back.
Sarah- "Alex, maybe we can go check out that place upstairs? That guy walking down the stairs earlier looked maybe your size, and wasn't as... uh, fashionable as some of these other people."

Sarah- "OK, I think it was on the 12th floor... I should stay with Nat but maybe--" Davin and Sandy returned from a stairwell door Davin- "Well, we're getting too creeped out to keep checking these places out in the complete dark so we give up. Found a few people but they want to stay where they are."
Sarah- "Mr. Davin, um, Alex here needs a shirt. There was that Colonel's son's upstairs?"
Davin- "Oh yeah, we found it. Upstairs, 12-B, it's open."
Sandy- "I can go with you."
Unless Alex wants to look for anything else, he can easily find a variety of sporty wear in his size upstairs, generally University of Washington themed. If he doesn't have any other concerns for the night, everyone else is going to bed.

(REPOSTED IN EVERY THREAD)
The night dragged on for anyone who remained awake, and next to no one enjoyed a full night's rest. Most people woke up in random panics, confused and terrified as to where they were and what they were doing. Rooms full of strangers snored and mumbled to each other in the pitch dark, lit only by the candles of those who found the prospect of staying awake a little easier in this circumstance. Outside, it was surprisingly quiet, mostly they just heard the sound of wind and the screech of a tire now and then. Lights flickered on and off outside, and just before dawn, all lights were out.
Davin set his phone alarm for a half hour before sunrise, and got up, talking briefly to Tyrone and started gathering some supplies to set out.
Dr. Victor stayed watch over Volya and found himself jumping a few times as the man coughed or snored. Nothing seemed to happen to him.
Sonya and Sandy slept next to each other, and whispered quietly in a broken Korean/English mixture through the night.
Anna let as many people as could fit sleep on her bed, and also woke up early, starting to pack clothes and memorabilia.
Eric slept on Anna's couch, the gun propped on the sliding glass door, and James woke him up as Anna started moving around.
The sun rose at 6:40 AM.
The apartments filled with light, even the halls. Every room was surrounded with windows, and the cloudy morning sky faded from a blank blue to a blank white. Steve Heeren and some others were chatting about Easter, which would have been that weekend. Was this of religious significance?
Outside, if anyone stepped on to the balcony for a view, they would see a nerve-wracking site.
Groups of people milled around. Here a group of twenty, here a group of fifty. Down the road a ways, was that a hundred or more? The occasional car tore by, gunshots, someone running past their slower attackers. Birds chirped incessantly.
It was 6:50 AM.
