(( Dr. Jar ))
At the beginning of the night, Ru woke to his phone's chiming with vampiric phone tag. Chatting each other up via telecommunications was gettin' to be a regular thing with his tightest homies - Babette, and now August. He checked a thing or two before Cameron poked his head in & told him Demetri had something lined up for the night. Getting dressed nice was a must - they were going to a symphony.
Ru and Cameron got suited up and polished. Cam said he invited August, Ru invited Babette. During this all, Cam explained how last night Demetri had been showing him the operation. Seemed they were fated to be immortal wise guys. Although about halfway through that night, he left Cameron with Sarah and Tristan so he could go to some kind of meeting.
At last, Demetri came in to explain the night's doings...
Demetri- "Well, lads, we're going to the symphony. Sarah is going to play a show tonight. I'd like your help with a few odd things - most importantly keeping someone company. Cameron, you may be well suited for this one. He's quite hetero."
Cameron- "OK, boss."
Demetri- "...and get that hair down, please."
Cameron- "OK, boss."

Ru- "What's my task?" He already knew he was going to be sitting with Babette, but he was curious as to what his task was going to be exactly. Watching Sarah? Maybe this was what vampires do for fun.
He seemed thoughtful. Mostly about how they were going to spend the rest of their not-lives.

Demetri- "For starters, you can drive..." The Dragomir lads took a classic silver sedan with aerodynamic lines on a trip to an affluent suburb not far away. There they paused for a moment in front of a destructively modernized cottage with a hideous glass cube entryway. A human in a wrinkly white muslin collared shirt, designer scarf, and acid wash loose fit jeans came down the path to their car, and took off his cool guy sunglasses & scarf as he stepped into the back seat with Cameron (Demetri was next to Ru in front). The guy reached his hand across to the driver's side. Shake hands?
Bro- "What's peace, man?"

Ru- Ru stopped the car pleasantly for their fellow and drove smoothly enough.
He was hardly the conversationalist but he seemed happy enough in his place.
He smiled at the new guy. "What's your name?"

Bro- "Igor Fuentes, bruh. Who are you cats? Aside from Dem-Man, everyone knows him."

Ru- "Only the Rue." It was hard to tell if he was joking or not. He might like making himself into a pronoun.

Demetri- "That's the Ru apparently and that's Cameron."
Cameron- "Big Daddy Cam..."
Along the way, Igor was way too bro-ish and self-absorbed to like for long. They found out everything about him whether they wanted to or not. He was an advertising executive who coordinated a private PR campaign to undo some trouble Dragomir Holdings was having with stockholders, and thought that made him super important. Demetri seemed less impressed. They also found out he felt very deep and important about his hobby as an amateur bookbinder, dropping tens of thousands of dollars on antique equipment and "keeping methods from the Revolutionary Cycle alive." Plus he liked tits. Don't you like tits too? Of course you do.
When Ru reached the symphony, Demetri gave the garage attendant a look and the guy opened a separate interior garage door. Demetri whispered that Ru and Cameron were welcome here, and gestured for Ru to drive up the ramp. They were in a secret extra rich people garage, with black marble walls and sultry recessed lighting, and soft but bright LED strips on the floor marking the way. Ru found a comfortably wide spot to park in and everyone got out.
Igor- "And that's why we go places with Dem-Man."

Ru- Ru was a little tense driving this expensive car into a REALLY expensive garage. Just the feel of it made him nervous.
He just chuckled awkwardly at the 'tits' and the discussion about bookbinding. He had no idea about bookbinding. He was just a record store owner.
Being a vampire was starting to make him feel unclassy.
He parked in what appeared to him to be the right place. "Of course."

Everyone was feeling genial enough as they got into the darkwood lined elevator. Demetri leaned slightly toward Ru and whispered,
Demetri- "Ru, I would like you to meet your friends in the lobby and call me mentally when Jack arrives, OK?"
Igor was oblivious.
Igor- "Man, the debutantes at these functions are off tha chain, bro."
Cameron- "For real?"

Ru- Ru made hasty eyes at Demetri and nodded curtly! He'd do exactly as Demetri asked. "Yes." He hurried to do his bidding as soon as he could.

And with that, Ru left Demetri & the others, found his way to the mezzanine level of the lobby. It was big, but the heatless bodies of the little vampire pack were an easy find... ((Intro Ru in the mezzanine as u like, don't worry about interrupting.))

...then Demetri and Ru returned to the far end of the mezzanine, rounded the corner, and walked farther still. They were at an end of the building where the steep hills outside plus the ascending short flights of stairs inside had them several blocks above street level. The street lamps outside were still strong, and more visible, as the mezzanine's lights were low here.
Few patrons milled about in this area, looking for the more far flung entrances for seating, or maybe the restrooms. They walked through a velvet curtain to an area overlooking the street.
As they went, Demetri had been making small talk about the symphony and other pleasantry. Ru was definitely getting the impression from Jack's behavior that the two had a history before this last week when Jack was turned into a vampire, which put him in a rather different position from the movie crew.
Jack didn't seem to like Demetri, though the older vampire was trying. At the last moment, Demetri steered the conversation in a different direction. Demetri- "Well, Jack, I can tell you're in no mood, but perhaps after tonight's enlightenment, you will have a perspective to help you reevaluate your attitude toward your current circumstance? I've a lesson for you. Ru, you may pay attention as well. I don't think we've spent enough time discussing the transformative nature of becoming a vampire." They stood in a small circle, Jack closest to Demetri, Ru a short distance away. Stuffed antique chairs sat unused nearby, with plain wooden ones closer to the walls. Vampire eyes glimmered here.

Jack- "Aw man, what did I do to deserve an extra formal Uncle Demy talk?"
He squicked himself out.
Jack- "Uncle, eugh."

Ru- "I'm listening, Demetri." He knew some reasons why Jack didn't love Demetri but in his own opinion, Demetri had been the kindest to him of all the older vampires and there was no reason to disrespect him. He folded his hands and sat attentively to listen. "What do you need to tell me?"

Demetri- "It's about being a vampire. Unless you choose to waste this opportunity for a life beyond mortal constraints, you will need to get used to a few things. Chiefly, that morality for you should not be judged by the same standards you once held. You are different, and so your ethical concerns should be as well."
