Without anywhere much else to go in town, the group took a wooded path not far from the building they received the curious plea for help. Indeed, at its end a single room schoolhouse appeared in a clearing. Very little paint remained, though it was easy enough to tell it was once a similar white to the church in town. It had many closely spaced windows and a brick chimney.

Adrian had gotten to thinking that a horror movie monster would have already picked one them off by now, which eased his mind in a way. With his mind drifting he tripped on some loose gravel at the end of the path and tensed right back up.
Entering strange buildings was beginning to feel routine, and less fuss was made than usual going into the school. Unfortunately the sun was nearing its crawl towards the horizon which made the room inside quite murky. There wasn't any electric lighting- not that it would work even if there was- but it wasn't hard to make out twenty wooden desks, benches, and in front of the class a long black chalkboard, a cluttered teacher's desk, and a potbellied coal stove that resembled the one in the church. (( Sebastian Trinity - Player instructions: PCs may explore the schoolroom and communicate as they like. Things are about to go down. ))

There were no dolls in this room, but Lucas did discover the stairs leading down to the shadowy basement.(( Sebastian Trinity Player instructions: Proceed downstairs.))

It took a long while for anybody to have their eyes fully adjust. Only the light coming from the room upstairs was allowing any sort of vision for the diurnal, and that obviously wasn't much. Piles of firewood were visible, though inspection told that it was mostly rotten and deteriorating. Years of unbridled rain has eroded ways for water to seep into the basement, rusting and wasting away anything of use, and drying puddles stagnated in any slight depression in the floor.

Something small moved along the wall.
Zoe - "Was that a mouse?"
Adrian - "No way. That sounded too big..."
Scuffling quickly to the opposite side of the wall, the small thing ran up to Lucas and tugged on his pant leg before disappearing back into the shadows.

Gina - "What? Does anybody have a light?"
Zoe - "I don't think a mouse can do that- Hey!"
Adrian took out his smartphone, but before he could switch to the flashlight app the culprit had already gone after Sam, Zoe, Vincent, and Jake.
Jake - "Cut it out!"
Coleen - "I didn't do anything."
Jake - "I wasn't talking to-"
Jake's voice cut off. Adrian turned on the smartphone light and looked around, but he was too late. Gina, Coleen, and himself were the only people left in the basement.

As the sun fell low in the sky, the last human residents of Lewan village ran out of the school, and back to the wooded path. They stopped to catch their breath. Gina Thompson's head spun. Should they go back to the buildings or the bus? Would it matter in the end?Suddenly, industrial rock blasted out from Coleen's pocket, startling everyone present. ♫ Never let it go Never let it be Would you ever know? Would you bury me? ♫It was Coleen's text ringer: the refrain from Meet Me Here by Juliet Lane. It was great for soothing teenage woes, but now was it ever inappropriate. She yanked the smartphone out, nearly dropping it in her excitement. (( Trinity - Have Coleen react and show the others her text, and change the genre/lyrics if you feel like it. I wasn't sure what your PCs listen to, so I gave it a guess. ))

(( Kristi is prescribed skeletons - Haha, it's not an unfair assumption! That's fine with me.)) "Jake? Jake..?" Colleen's voice was small, and riddled with fear.
Then, her phone went off. Her hands were practically shaking as she opened up the text message, Is anyone there?Colleen- "..Yo.." She said, still pretty freaked out, "Check this out." She passed the phone to Adrian, Colleen- " Should.. Should I reply? What do you think?"

Adrian - "What...? I don't know." He passes the phone to Ms. Thompson. As she finishes reading, a series of texts begin to follow the first received. Messages - You are in danger.
The following instructions are being sent to help you: A pronounced rustling is heard in the overgrown grass.Messages - Do not try attacking the puppet.
Say, "good morrow, Sammy." A tiny, gloved hand pops up from the grass and waves. Ms. Thomson gasps.Messages - Wait until the puppet stops performing.
Say, "it's time for bed." ((Player instructions: Trinity - It's your lone PC's turn to act!))

Colleen - "Um.."
Colleen's eyes slowly drifted from the text messages, to the eerie gloved hand. If this was some weird joke, she wasn't laughing.
She took a step closer to get a better look.
"I guess.. Good morrow.. uh.. Sammy..?"

A small wooden puppet unceremoniously tumbled out from the grass, flopping carelessly into a sitting position. Its suit was disheveled and one of two oversized leather shoes was untied. As the audience of three waited for the puppeteer to appear, the little wooden man sprung onto his feet.
Bulging eyes rattled about in its head, carefully observing the spectators. One might have thought that that painted smile had broadened just a smidgen. The puppet held up one finger and paused before reaching into the little suit jacket.
Out from the quickly unraveling lining it wove silk flowers until there was no jacket left, and gathered them into a bouquet.
Then, when the audience thought it was over, Ms. Thompson looked down to see the puppet right at her feet, earnestly holding up the bouquet. After hesitating for a moment she took the artificial flowers. Gina - "I think... it's time for bed." With that, the puppet collapsed, just as if someone had dropped its invisible strings.
