Trevor took longer to turn away from this window than he had at either of the previous scenes. There was a mesmerizing quality in the way the spirits worked.
Trevor - "..."
Trevor - "Okay. I'm ready to move on."

Trevor realized that these cruel tableaus were not necessarily representative of the spirit world as a whole. Even within this cruel weird city, there were hundreds, maybe thousands of buildings which were probably not harboring atrocities 24-7. How did these monsters spend eternity, between beheadings and births? That was not on Torraign's agenda.
The creature flew him through the starry void once more, over a nighted plain flecked with bonfires, through a great mist into a brighter realm, a green place rendered blue under an intensely starry night, a forest and plains strewn with rocks and megaliths and fairy rings, to a castle of cyclopean proportions, its moss encrusted buttresses as rough and natural as the megaliths below, the windows merely openings where wall forgot to happen, the tiled floor within gleaming, torch-lined halls beckoning, and they were within...
Torraign's slow flight was beautiful and strange, like a woman swimming in an evening gown. They dragged Trevor weightlessly along the irregular vaults of the ceiling, around chandeliers and past strange things roosting in crevices, toward the sound of some great revelry. Torraighn- "No window will protect you from becoming a participant in this foolishness. Do not let yourself be taken."

Trevor's spirit was caught in a wave of intrigue at such foreboding words. Could something happen to him here?
Trevor - "Understood. You may or may not trust in my judgement, but I don't see myself doing anything rash while under your guidance."

Torraighn- "Very well. There is one more thing to see - another form of beginning. There are many others as well, but this should seal your understanding well enough."
Torraign went quiet and dragged him through the air, like a dirigible hauling a hot air balloon. They bobbed through the halls...
Strange sounds of revelry, chaotic and demented rang through the stones. Mandolin music played at a frenzied pace - two different melodies at once? And was that a bagpipe on rhythm, or just doing its own thing?
The noise reached a dull roar, and they'd occasionally see odd things scurrying away from the source - a violin with lingerie-clad lady legs, two rabbits bouncing on beach balls, a bunch of grapes flying out and smashing against a wall with great force. The air smelled like wine and brine and stone, until...
They stood at the peak of the doors arch, peering over the side like Kilroys, gazing upon a scene of nonsensical debauchery. Moans and yelps of pleasure cut through the din, thumping and bumping and grinding over a singer/mandolinist that sounded oddly like Shaunessy. The participants in the orgy looked like animals, fairies, inanimate objects, and everything in between. To facilitate their carnal acts, they sometimes had to get creative for lack of the usual anatomy. The bagpipe/peacock figure wasn't making rhythmic noises for entertainment.
And yet Trevor could sense that any given erotic exchange in this bizarre event had a chance to give rise to new life. Perhaps that explained the snake with goat legs and a giant quill pen for a tongue. The creatures fueled their mad acts with wine from cornucopias and banquet tables full of food, which hopefully didn't cause confusion, as some of the participants looked like food.
Torraign ducked a flying slice of cheese, then drew their head back into view.
Torraighn- "Do you see?"

Trevor was unable to look for long before having to avert his eyes as an uncomfortable smile did away with his outward tranquility. Although, even with all the literal bells and whistles, the final visitation was somehow anticlimactic.
Trevor - "I've seen more than I think I was prepared for. That's not my idea of a good time, as it turns out."

Torraighn- "Nor mine. We--"
Spirit that noticed them- "Woooo! Come on down, sexay! Wooo!"
It threw a piece of cheese at them, seductively.

Trevor ducked to avoid the projectile brie, hoping that was an appropriate rejection in these parts.

Torraighn- "ugh."
Torraign flew them away with much less care and much more speed. They were once more aloft in the spaces between worlds...
Torraighn- "What more do you seek, Trevor?"

Trevor - "I wish to know more about spirit classification. An acquaintance of mine mentioned something about fairies while Inka, the other you spoke with, mentioned gods. I recently made friends with a spirit of a variety she could not identify, and it may be beneficial for me in the future to know what's out there in."

Torraighn- "Mmm... I sense... I can lead you to this, and will discharge my services then..."
Torraign jerked Trevor violently into a dive that scorched the sky, ripped through the roof of the aquarium, and blew past his body completely.
Inka- "Whoa! Too fast!"
Torraign let go of his hand at the last moment and the spirit plunged into a bookshelf, leaving a glowing aura on one medium-large tome. Just as Trevor was getting oriented enough to see which book it was, he found himself looking at Inka again. Inka- "Chere you are! Welcome back, Trevor."

Freshly reunited with his body, Trevor felt a twinge of discomfort.
Trevor - "Hello, thank you. May I please have something to drink?"

She offered her wrist. Inka- "Ooh, I am eagar to hear what you have learned."

Trevor - "..." It took only a small nick and a sip to satisfy Trevor's thirst before he went on as if nothing unusual transpired.
Trevor - "I saw origins of spirits in their world. Do you know about that?"

Inka- "One time I saw a divinity as she lay dying, things being bjirthed in the ruin?"
It wasn't a question, but she made it sound like one.

Trevor - "Yes, I saw that sort of thing. Exactly." Trevor went on to tell Inka about the similar happenings he had experienced- the life born from life, from death, and from new beginnings entirely- with the best of his ability.
