Francesca- "Allez-oop!"
She took Sophie's hand and swung her whole body off the ground and toward the ceiling! Sophie touched the ceiling, almost expecting to be able to stay in place like Fran, but then slipped and started to fall. Fran grabbed her about the shoulders and held her up at an awkward angle, dangling over the floor. Francesca- "Not ready? C'mon. Just, uh, well, try it? It's probably easier on all fours. I'll hold you."
She went down (up?) to one knee and pulled Sophie close enough to the ceiling she could try to swing her legs up. Would they stick? Fran wasn't much of a sensei.

Francesca- "Yikes!"
As Sophie got her legs up and started to fall again, Fran let go and grabbed her a little farther along the torso, bending forward at the waist to hold her in place on the ceiling. It looked like a failed tango maneuver, but they held still for the moment. Francesca- "OK, I got you now."

Francesca- "Heehee, I just don't remember... it's been so long. OK, I'm going to hold you all the way to the ceiling. When you're in place, see if, um... See if it makes more sense."
Fran easily pushed Sophie against the ceiling. Now what?

Sophie tentatively put her foot forward and hoped that maybe instinct would take over.

Instinct did not take over. She was, however aware of her center of gravity in a way she normally would not be. It was like being off balance - well, she was off balance - but more ... conscious somehow. Francesca- "I'm not going anywhere. Take your time."

Sophie was going to try top land this step, and then carry on if she could.

She wasn't sticking. She could move around in Fran's grip as much as that allowed, but didn't feel like she was sticking to the ceiling. There must be a trick to it that Fran is just lousy at communicating. Francesca- "Um... Hm. Well. What do you think?"

Maybe Sophie could somehow " shift" her weight towards the ceiling rather than the floor? She tried to concentrate again. Francesca might not be a great sensei, but Sophie probably wasn't the best student either.

Again, she became aware of her center of gravity - and it felt like she could somewhat control it! She willed her weight toward the ceiling and finally felt like she wasn't on the verge of falling. Still very clumsily though - she felt like her weight would fall toward the ceiling if Francesca let go, but only the center - and that walking would be very awkward indeed. Francesca- "I felt that! Ready to go?"

Sophier was pretty pleased with herself."Heh. I think so." She looked down at the floor and tried to take a mental inventory of what she would need.((Would this be a good time to describe the room?))

Looking down at the floor caused her to lose track of what she was doing to stay aloft and she started to fall. Francesca caught her and she got her anti-gravity on again. Sophie pretty much had to stay on all fours and not look directly down. However, she could look all around the room easily enough. Straight down was the problem, and easily avoided.
((What does La Casa Sophie look like?))

It was a fairly neat room until the furthest corner, where there was a desk and on top her sewing machine and piles of fabric. Nearby was a mannequin dressed in a half-finished orange and blue number. Sophie regarded it with a guilty pout. Maybe that should come with them as well.
The furnishings were sparse and simple, imported, all-black and clean lines that the young people were so fond of. There was a book shelf, embarrassingly devoid of any books and stuffed with fashion magazines instead, with the hermit crab habitat atop. The walls were bare except for a framed family photo and a calendar with scantily clad ladies gracing each month. Her bed was unmade."I would have cleaned up if I expected company."

Francesca made no sign of strong feelings about the place, but aside from the sewing area, it was certainly more clean and spare than many other college student's places. Francesca- "It's alright. Let's just get Mr. Crab and go. We can get you anything else you might want or need, shiny new. Think I can let you go now?"
