( Map here: goo.gl/maps/8hcbX ) This little corner of Seattle features the Paramount Theater, Tower 801 apartments, the Convention Place bus station, a large parking lot and some other small businesses on the periphery. This is a relatively quiet area of downtown, except when there's a concert on. The marquee of the Paramount reads: "STG PRESENTS ELVIS COSTELLO & THE IMPOSTERS APRIL 12th" You can see the ivy covered entrance to the convention center down the road, the tall and oddly shaped Tower 801 building, and the complicated white vertebrae of the Convention bus station, which had many escalators and stairs leading down to the outdoor bus station. From there, buses can go directly on to the freeway north, I-5, or south to enter the bus tunnel. Across the street is the WorldMark by Wyndham hotel. If one continued up the hill, they would come to Capitol Hill. The streets here are relatively empty, the roads blocked off by car wreckage at various junctures.

As the first of the group stepped out of the stairwell, they saw the train conductor go running around the corner, and into a small plaza of the bus station. He disappeared down the stairs. The street seemed empty at first, there were sounds of cars, of police sirens and the sound of the wind coming from the water. Anna stepped out on to the street, getting her bearings.
(imagine less people and less Lion King...)
Anna- "There!" she pointed to a large, oddly round building covered in windows. "That's my place."
The building was just one block towards downtown, on the other side of a parking lot. A car came blazing down the hill, like it was involved in an invisible police chase, and roared around the corner at a terrifying speed. As they glanced down the streets closer to downtown, they saw people running, and on some streets, total darkness.
Anna- "Come on, as soon as more of you get out here, let's go!"
On the other side of the street, the Paramount theater's sign still glowed brilliantly, the marquee reading...
(How weird, I actually found the right sign...!)
Some people seemed to be hiding around the entrance, or were they just lurking there? They seemed to be looking in through the glass with their hands on the doors. A few heads turned to the group as they spilled out on to the sidewalk.

Call it paranoia, but Alex didn't like the look of those lurking bystanders. If he and the others were going to make it to Anna's place alive, they might have to fight. And he couldn't fight properly with a bag of medical supplies. Alex looked around until he spotted Nat and his buddies. He hastily pushed the bag in Nat and Basil's direction. "Please hold this. I just can’t swing right with one arm. Uh, look, stay behind me and shout if you need help." With a frying pan (interesting choice, but better than nothing, he supposed) and a messenger bag, the two men wouldn't pack much of a punch. Alex then said, in Dr. Victor's general direction, "And I got my eyes on you!"

As soon as Ben got outside he started to look around. At the sight of the people across the street he tensed up a bit. Were those zombies? They seemed to exhibit the typical zombie behaviour of wanting to get inside a building. But if they were survivors they'd probably want the same thing. Still, better get ready for a fight, he thought. Ben- "I hope those aren't dead people," Ben said as he tried to mentally prepare. "And if they are, we better try to be quiet. Could be any number of dead people close by."

Tab When Patti came out at the top of the stairs, she realized her apartment was only an extra hundred yards away. "I hate to throw a wrench in the works, but my apartment is only an extra hundred yards away, across that parking lot, there." She pointed at the lot directly across the street from Anna's apartment building. There's an entry on this side and my apartment's on the tenth floor."

The last thing Micah remembered, was heaving his guts all over the tunnel floor. A sudden gush of fresh night air made him start and he stared blinkedly around, struggling to focus on anything or anyone in particular. The world was a blur of lights and sounds, though somewhat familiar. The only thing he managed to pull some focus on, was whoever held him in their arms. He was holding on the sexy older guy, which was odd but nice. His aftershave and sweat, a comforting scent after the butcher shop of the carriage. The smell of the train still lingered, covered as he was in it's filth. He looked up at the pale-eyed face of the man responsible for him being upright. "Uh...Thanks...M-micah, uh name?...I can't seem..stand...by m'self yet, do ya mind?" ( Micah is pretty much going to go wherever Jackson decides to go or if someone else takes him. Pretty much useless at this second, but never fear the swears will return )

tab "So we go for the guns then?" Ben asked the others. "Good for fighting zombies, but dangerous if someone with a gun gets possessed by something." tab He didn't really care where they were going, but getting some guns would probably be a better idea than just looting Anna's neighbours. At least if they could loot Patti's neighbours. Or better yet, find that not everyone was dead. When he thought about it, he realised that there was a good chance that people would either be alive or zombies or ghosts. Random apartments suddenly didn't seem like such easy pickings.

Dr. Victor slowly moved down the street cautiously. He kept his eye on the weirdo, making sure he didn't stray to far from the center of the pack. Replaying Alex's words in his head, the good doctor frowned. "Alex, should the need arise that I turn into one of those beasts, you have my permission to beat me senseless. I just pray you don't let your vengeance take over your teenage sensibility. Please, let it rest? Your mind is wandering when it should be alert." The doctor then moved towards the dark armed warrior. "Patti, to be honest, I don't know which building would be safer or even provide more in terms of supplies. I think we should head to where we KNOW the guns are as opposed to where there might be supplies. It'd just be hard to convince the rest. Can you say we hit your place in the morning? I'd rather just get it all over with. And Micah might need a couple showers tonight. I need to make sure he's just love sick and not sick sick... and I'd like to inspect everyone, just to make sure... you know." The last phrase of the run on sentence, the doctor spoke in a muttered hush. "I just hope I have enough in that bag. I can basically MacGyver just about anything I need... it's the essentials which I have to ration. Ben, you do prove a good point. I'd rather make sure we don't have that happen... uh, Thank you, Ben. You've been helpful." The doctor looked like he had been through the wet washing machine, face slightly damped, wrinkled, and worn. He glanced around at the crew outside the theater. His eyes cooled and narrowed. "We should just stick with the plan and keep moving."

tab "Uh, doctor? Patti is the one who's got guns in her apartment. Are you saying that we should go to her place after Anna's place?"

Tab Patti didn't argue. "Okay, let's just get off the street, and now." She started towards Anna's building, gun in both hands.

Alex had the decency to look away when the doctor chastised him. "I'd never hurt you, Sir," he said. "Sorry. I know you’re a good man." Then, Dr. Victor’s shower-related comment registered. Micah was sick? When did that happen? Alex remembered seeing him get on the train, and he seemed fine, then. Alex spotted Micah clinging to the tattooed man. Whoa. He looked awful. He was bloodier than ever, pale, and dazed. "Jesus Christ," he murmured. "What happened?" Alex will follow the others to Anna's building when they start moving, but he'll travel near Micah and Jackson, since he's convinced that Micah was bitten by a zombie during the train ride.

Nat followed everyone up onto the street level, shying a bit away when he spotted the crowd gathered outside of the theater. None of them looked dead... or undead... or whatever - not from here at least, but the way they pressed up against the glass was more than a touch unsettling. As he was trying to put the bulk of their own group between him and the theater, Nat nearly walked into Alex. He barely had time to apologize before the doctor's bag was thrust into his arms. "Oh, um, a-allright." He clutched the bag awkwardly a moment, before shifting it into a more comfortable hold under his free arm. "C-Can we please get inside, soon?" His voice sounded rather small, even to himself - he didn't dare speak too loud, for fear of attracting unwanted attention. Nat had not immediately noticed Micah, but when he did he froze, visibly startled. He was covered in blood and looked as though he could barely walk. It frightened him, worried him - what had happened? He felt at least some camaraderie with the Aussie - they'd come into this mess together, hadn't they? The blonde smiled reassuringly at Sarah (and a bit less-so at Basil) then slowed and fell back to walk beside Alex - he kept the man between himself and Micah, although he glanced at the bloody Aussie rather frequently. He didn't ask the question that was on his mind - as he had fallen back, he heard Alex ask it for him.

The good doctor looked over at Ben and nodded. "You heard me correctly, Ben. I believe it would be best to rest at one place and crash at the other. Dividing people too much or forcing the stronger personalities to decide never works out for anyone. I apologize, but it'd be best to let this lie for now. We can... we can chalk it up to the fact Patti wasn't expecting guests and her place is untidy, hmm?" The doctor offered a weak smile to Alex. "Alex, I may be the most pompous ass hole you ever will meet, but I do have a iota of compassion... somewhere... being smothered by my coping mechanisms of laughter, sarcasm and ignorance. Nat, good to see you among the living." The doctor chuckled, though it sounded more like the sound of a dead puppy being squeezed.

Jackson- "Mike? I'm Jackson, Mr. Seattle 1995. Don't talk if you think you might spew again. You can choke."
Tyrone- (to Alex) "There's too much crazy shit goin' on out herr to get into. Jus' keep on."
James- "Looks like a lot of way into building... You think it's safe?"
Anna- "What do you have? We can lock down a few apartments for as long as it takes." She passed her torch to James. "We should put those out, but keep 'em. We don't want sprinklers going off, but who knows what's going to happen?" James beat the torch on the ground to put it out. Anna used her electronic key on the door, and was thankful in that moment the power was still on here. She went into the lobby, propping the door for the next in line.
Everyone was in the lobby of the Tower 801 apartments. It wasn't very welcoming, just a few twists of curved concrete and some mailboxes embedded in a wall. She waited until everyone was in to talk, and put on her slightly shouty public speaking voice. Anna- "OK, this is what we know. Some gutless boy that claims to be part of a group of mummies has taken credit for unleashing this crisis outside, in an effort to wipe out humanity. We have armies of undead out there, which seem to lack central leadership, but do all have a hard-on to kill us. But the fact we're all here, not to mention the weirdos outside, tells me they haven't done as good a job as all that. People are alive and able to fight.
But we do need rest, so let's try to get some. We don't really even need to secure the building, because the doors are locked and zombies have more interesting looking shit to get into. That... Mary was scary, but there's not so many like her, and if they wanna go door to door in Seattle, any one place isn't too likely to get hit. Lastly, as threats go, there's ghosts. Again, not too horribly many of those, so hopefully we luck out. But we'll keep someone awake in shifts in every room where people sleep, and run if we see that shit.
Eh... If you wanna waste your effort locking this place down, you need to get the garage sealed, two apartment entrances on this level & one coffee shop entrance too, and if you're afraid of gymnast zombies, the common area around the back that way could use some blocking. If you wanna scour the building for undead, again... It's a pretty big building. I wouldn't waste my time with it tonight. Let's just go up. The stairs are this way." If anyone wanted to try some kind of securing the building, they could, but to do so might also lock out people trying to come in to the safety of their apartments... It was a tricky moral situation. Anna said her apartment number in case anyone wanted to mess around down here and come up later, then she set out for the stairs. They were just about fifteen feet away.ROLE-PLAY IN HERE FOR A BIT, BUT WE'LL BE MAKING A NEW THREAD SHORTLY!!!
