Patti was distracted by a zombie momentarily, but returned to the conversation."Yeah, I wasn't in on the first ghoul meeting at Amazon, but I did meet the street vendor. He was almost entirely harmless if you remained tactful. The impression I got from Lashonda was that the Bezos Bozos were pretty aggressive once the zombie meal was rejected."

With most of the peeps,
They were at the bottom of the hill. A street sign was easy to pick out, pointing them to Leary. It was the last street to take. It would go straight a ways, then turn diagonally and run west right up to the church & beyond. They were on the other side of the Ballard Bridge - one of the drawbridges that was left in the upright position at the end of the world. Beau was the only person in the enclave that had seen post-apoc Ballard in person, until Colqhoun arrived. He had nothing positive to say about it. Davin- "Oh, sorry about the confusion, Patti. Yeah, I half-remember that conversation. Diplomacy. But covering exits is a good idea. The only problem is just how many exits there are. I went to the Trader Joe's out there across the street from that church back in the day - just once or twice. But I feel like it was a largish building - probably three or four exits on it. That's stretching us pretty thin.
Micah, you might be right. But that also means he'll be well-prepared to fight Colqhoun if he monsters out. Let Alex handle the guy by himself, while... standing at one of the corners of the building. Put someone else on the opposite corner, and we can see around the whole thing with just two guys. The rest of the people go in an entrance together, weapons low but in hand.
Does that sound good?" With Alex, Colqhoun- "I don't know... Whatever the case, I feel like they're still with me... in spirit. Let's shake a leg, hm?" On the more open terrain, everyone was able to walk closer together. Colqhoun and Alex caught up.
The street here was very wide. It was still dotted with car wrecks or blocked by chaos. Several zombies staggered in sight, chasing after them, being put down, but never accumulating into larger crowds. Still, it was more density than they'd seen in South Lake Union in months.
The snow was falling in thick large flakes, dusting people's shoulders. The air was brisk. The scents of death and destruction had been dulled and coated with moss, dirt, and now snow, leaving the scene almost as sterile as a video game.

Ashley- "I like that plan. I didn't realize it had that many entrances." He agrees, lifting his weapon and flare up a little. The flare was probably pretty useless right now, but maybe it would be more useful as a light source inside. The thing did a good job of hurting his eyes right now. He wondered, vaguely, if he needed glasses.
His hands were too occupied to brush snow off his shoulders for the time being, and he hurried along. "I'll go in with you, Davin, and anyone else to help cover them. I'll keep my mouth shut." Davin is left with his own digression concerning whether this is a good idea or not.

"Hrmm, I ah do think we need a tank type person for our back up. Perhaps send in our less fucking dangerous looking people."

Davin- "We're all pretty well-built here, aren't we? Who's a tank? And maybe it would be better to have someone fast out there as well as Alex. I don't know."

"I'm sorry, I left my +5 Plate of Solamnus and my Axe of Brotherhood at home. For a lack of Boots of Striding and Springing, perhaps Micah and I should cover the corners and you guys go in. Let Davin do all of the talking and have Alex keep Calhoun company."

Davin- "...OK, some different opinions here... Here's how we'll do. Alex and Colqhoun at the northeast corner of the building, Patti at the southwest. The rest of us go in the main entrance with weapons low and try to do what we can. Micah, if we run into any meat, maybe you can tell us if it's human based on the aroma and your culinary expertise? I don't know..." As they hiked along Leary in the accumulating snow, they noticed a few chimneys letting out smoke in the near distance. Meanwhile, dozens of zombies roamed the streets in loose bands. They didn't end up swarming the heroes, obstructed and distracted by dead cars and weather. The zombies they did have to dispatch were fairly crow-eaten already. It was a morbid winter wonderland.

Ashley- He nods after listening to Davin, it seems he's happy with this plan. "Gladly. I guess if someone might know, it would probably be him. Or...who do we know that has seen non-rotten human meat?" Ashley supposed he could tell what human meat looked like. It was like pork, wasn't it? He wasn't sure how accurate that is. Maybe they would have pigs?Ashley winced at the sight of a zombie whose nose, lips and eyes had been eaten out by birds, and put it out of what could be considered its undead misery in the meantime."..Ugh, well, we have a little ways to go yet, but at least we have a plan." He shoots a smile at Patti.

"Yeah, him has a name. I reckon I could smell the fucking difference, i can definitely tell you if it's zombie meat. Honestly, I wouldn't eat any fucking meat they offered." Micah trudged along, trying not to look at the scarecrow zombies. At least it was easier to think of them as inhuman but it was still bloody chundery. He knocked a couple down but the other guys got most of them.

Davin- "You can say that again!"
Colqhoun- "*huff huff*" As they neared the place, Colqhoun seemed to remember his fear. He was nearly hyperventilating, making pained expressions, and needed to be supported by Alex every few steps.
This was it - a straight-away road leading up to an underpass - where the Ballard Bridge landed. Mars Hill Church was right there, across the street from Trader Joe's & The Ballard Blocks building. A few more zombies, a few more blocks, and they were in full view of it.
It was a crappy but new-looking box of a building with almost no windows on the street sides. Patti's post on the south corner could be elevated thanks to a ramp up to some parking right across the alley from the southwest corner of the building. From her vantage, she could see the alley which included a small amount of parking and the glass doors of one of the main entrances, and the other direction down Leary Way.
Alex & Colqhoun stood in the parking lot on the northeast corner, from which they were very close to the other main entrance, and could see the two sides of the building that Patti couldn't...

Colqhoun- "*huff huff* oh god oh god ..." They stood in the snow, now three to six inches deep (depending on where it fell), and Alex began to feel the cold.
Davin, Micah, and Ashley decided to enter from the Alley door, in view of Patti. That entrance was less barricaded and less open to zombie-ish streets. Colqhoun hadn't given them much intel, but it seemed likely this was the only door used to enter or leave by for the survivors. The door seemed to be unlocked. There were curtains pulled down over the windows on either side of it, and a palette leaning against it that did little more than slow the door being opened or closed - but might be discouraging to zombies.
Inside, the smell of death was palpable, mixed with stale human waste and mildew. Davin tried to keep his posture and pace calm, his weapon down, but it was hard not to be very tense. He called out in the darkness. Davin- "Hello? Is anybody there? Is Pastor Mark there?"

“I guess cleanliness isn't fucking godliness after all...” Micah stayed at the back tense like a cat, waiting the for the smallest inclinations of live humans. Maybe it had been some crazy cannibal feast ending with the last guy finishing himself off bite by bite. Micah shivered and tightened his grip on the table leg, he ignored the urge to raise it. At least the whole living in the church for three months seemed plausible now.
