Saw some sandhill cranes today and got some okay pictures. Probably will be a long time before I get to looking at them.

Just saw LL Cool J at the airport. Decided not to bother him. Sorely tempted though. Far more interesting than when I exchanged head nods with Tom Arnold at LAX.

Was reading the developer's log for Saurian and they had peer-reviewed journal citations for two of the dinos that will appear in the game (which now require changes based on the new developments). I think this is awesome. saurian.maxmediacorp.com/?p=1185

I hate the internet. Exposed to people I thought were reasonable on Facebook, lamenting an article about cultural appropriation w/r/t dreadlocks. Now, admittedly, it was a clickbait site and the article was poorly written, but that just reinforces willful ignorance. I attempted to engage and then realized I hate these people too much to bother. They can take their Bill Cosby and Morgan Freeman sound bites and fuck right the hell off.

Boy howdy would I love to observe one of these events...
"Records show plenty of other familiar species move en masse, too: counts of 36,000 Black-capped Chickadees on the Lake Ontario shore in 1961; 5,000 Northern Flickers skirting a Cape May, New Jersey, beach in 1937; 11,000 Cedar Waxwings in Duluth, Minnesota."
36,000 Chickadees would be a lot of cute in one place.

Just spotted a monitor lizard, maybe 4 feet in length including the tail. My friend and I are debating whether it was an Asian Water Monitor or an immature Bengal Monitor. Sadly, it was moving really fast and we didn't get even one blurry photo.

Holy crap! I can watch live streaming safaris twice a day? Sign me up! Okay, I have to admit, the first watch was harrowing. A troop of baboons menaced a mother leopard and she got separated from her cubs, the cubs the large male baboon probably intended to kill. She has been reunited with her boy, but the little girl has yet to be found. Of course, it is live streaming from South Africa, so folks in the US will have to stay up weird hours to watch it. www.wildsafarilive.com/

I posted some photos from Venice. I'm almost exactly one year behind on reviewing my photos. D'oh!
