Yaaaay, Kristi! Carnival/fair stories are some of my favorites. Did you see the colorized ye olde carnival pictures Indea posted a while back?
I really love the way your writing flows. It's hard (for me) to describe, but some words just sound better when they're in a sentence together, and you have a talent for picking them.

'Tis about time this section saw some more action. Thanks, Kristi (& the other day Indea)! It's off to an interesting start. BTW, on the round robin, where did you get the "ingentis" from?

Kristi's story reminds me of Enid Blyton in a completley good way. Which I think is going to be particularly delightful when the carnival starts getting eaten.

@christopher: Ingentis is the genitive Latin word for "huge". So Gekkonidae ingentis would be "gecko of vastness"? I don't really know how to name species scientifically. DKender: Ah, thanks! My wording can also get wonky, so I appreciate to know when I'm doing less wonk. :-) ∆§Indea§∆: How literal the title gets is up in the air at this point... Let's find out now!

Gekko is the genus name, so these guys would be Gekko ingentis.

Oh, also you didn't answer my question. Did you have the genitive Latin memorized from some weird class or personal interest, or did you look it up? In other things, I'm totally into reading this stuff.

I heard it from something before, but I completely forget where. Preeeeeetty sure it was a book. I just used even without being sure it'd work.
I want more updates on the round robin like now now now. It so much fun.

Kristi, you devil! You updated by modifying without telling us. It ends up not being tagged as new. I'd do further updates as replies to the first post, if I was you. Ferreter.

I was just being silly. Real world things come first, of course. :-)
Sure, I can fix that. I'll just split it up like so...
...And there you go! Lotsa updates now.
