A finger and a toe fell off here and there, but it was moving too much, and too quickly to get particularly accurate aim on the parts that counted in this case. He could swear it looked annoyed, before it stretched its limb up, beyond his reach, and began to haul itself up, slowly, without the agility of a living animal. It was on its way over.Breg held his bat at the ready, before making a single, hard swing at whatever came up off the top of the fence first (it's head). The sound was sickening, and small pieces of its raw meat face flew everywhere, but it did not fall. "Help me." He asked the others, relatively calmly considering the current situation.

Without a reach weapon, Wolf was feeling kind of useless. He looked around for a weapon, gave up quickly, and considered his other options.
Before he could talk himself out of it, he jumped up, grabbing the fence with both hands. He hauled himself up a little farther, losing a little blood when one of the thing's climbing claws happened to rake one of his hands.
The fence wasn't all that tall and it took just a few quick seconds for him to get within reach of the thing's head. Careful to avoid the crushing blows of his allies, he waited very momentarily, then stabbed his knife towards the flat face of the rotten creature.[/i]

The knife strikes it where its eye once was, and the thing slips down farther. It sinks in too deep to pull out easily without a very quick jerk. The arm on the right stops working, but the left clings.
Breg strikes the creature with the bat several more times, and is met with the sickening crunch of it's too-thick skull. Sweat rolls down his forehead, and he huffs in the heat of the summer night, trembling with force.
The creature let go, and slid down the side of the fence, and lay there, still moving, but too weak to attack them. It reached through the side toward them, staring with am empty, ruined face decorated with too-small teeth. Its intestines rolled about the side of its body, skeletal in some places, fit in others.
"Ruuuuuggghhhhuuuuuuuu."
Breg watches the thing, and pants, steadily, quietly. The incident had only been a few moments long, but it a terrible few moments. If it had gotten into the yard undetected, then it could have taken any one of them by surprise, which there was no return from.
He takes off his outer flannel, and stands illuminated in the spotlight. While being a fit man, he was not as well-muscled as his silhouette had suggested, and indeed, even seemed to have fat collect around his waist and elsewhere.
"Is everyone alright?" He asked the others, sparing the prone creature a second glance.

Anya looked on with relief and slight disappointment. It had been a little easy. She glanced down at the bloody mess of a thing. What the hell kept such a creature together? Maybe the sisters were right...
“Just fine. Should we light it up? Can't get back up if it's cinders... terminado.” She brought out a small silver lighter and gestured to the thing.

"I think it is too broken to get up again, we could save our fuel. You probably want your knife back, Wolf." He stares at the thing for a long, long time. "Easy now, maybe, but it could have been in the yard tomorrow, or dug through our door and given us more problems. I'm glad you've all been on alert." His hands continued to shake with adrenaline. It was placed inconveniently on the other side of a fence, and thus could not be beaten further without going outside. A twisted creature, now still, that seemed like it was definitely of human origin. But what had made it, how did it end up this way? It remained mysterious.Anya caught a glance of something farther back from the spotlight, an creature like a big dog, whose eyes caught in the shine. It stood still and returned their stare, before vanishing into the gloom. What horrors lay beyond the veil of darkness?

Anya rubbed her eyes, whatever it was it was gone now. She shivered and tried push the nagging feeling back.
“I don't know... looked like a dog or ' sumthin' '. Gone now. Should we go debrief?”

"I'm sure it was just a dog, he says, though he spares a wary glance at the beyond, before turning to the others." "We should see to your hand as well, Sir." He offers, and waits for them to gather their thoughts. "It sounds like the whole house is awake from all this racket now."

"How many times I gotta tell ya to stop callin' me 'sir'?" He turned back to the building, stopping to dig his Luger out of the bushes.[/i] "Let's make it quick, I gotta get upstairs and check the perimeter from above."

"Sister Blaze is probably up there with her patient, she'll be able to help you." He offers, and continues inside, after a final glance at the darkness.

Anya followed them inside with her own weary look into the dark. She looked forward with a forced grin."Don't worry, sir. Sister B will put a band-aid on your boo boo."

Another day, another pile of goat poo.
Wolf came out onto the back deck and worked his way down to the side path. He walked up to the gate where the hairy corpse beast had previously fallen. Though they had moved it and burned it, there was still quite the nasty mess on the flagstones.[/i] "Hey, Jacob, I'm... do I know you from somewhere?"

Breg follows Wolf outside, and examines their new visitor. He's a mountain of a man, who seems determined to wear plaid longsleeve shirts in the middle of summer. He looked like he might be of Mediterranean descent, and wears his long dark hair pulled back in a ponytail. "...Hello, I'm Breg." He offers the actual-human-who-may-be-evil. "...What do you need?"

Jacob- "Damn, you're big guys! Eh... uh..." This little guy was nearly a head shorter than Wolf, southeast Asian, and seemed to be an androgynously built woman. Still, going by a masculine name and wearing short hair and an unabashed moustache made it seem likely he preferred to be treated as a man. He must have known they were coming but still seemed fairly surprised by them. Jacob- "Eh, well... I've been living in the streets, and was thinking about joining an enclave. Sir, I do not recognize you. Well... I don't know if you're interested in having a new guest, or even if you are, if I'd like it here, but what do you think about ... all that?
