Hey Jara, do you have any makeover/expression requests? I'll give Ashley the blazer/button-up combo in his icon.

Hm, maybe like...a serious face that doesn't look angry? He doesn't really ever look "sad" but he'd definitely have a blank or neutral face for that sort of thing.

Micah will help with cleaning, housework and fixing up the food situation. As per usual it will be pretty half-arsed and when he can get away with doing very little he will. He'll do a bit of outside type stuff too. He 'll keep an eye on Alex, hang out with him, Chantelle, Nora and peeps like that. I will try to come up with something specific but I'm not too fussed on what the pic of Micah is. It will be the awesome no matter what. I am happy with whatever NPCs you like, maybe he can be slouching off a duty or something. For clothing the 'Jesus was the first zombie' shirt coupled with grey jeans would be cool. Super excited . We may finally see Alex's fabled torso hahaha.

Brett, U OK to have Patti's pic be shared with Jara, involving zombie thwackage? Even if it ain't the main thing she did. That's cool. Maybe you could have them standing on top of a car pile or something dramatic like that. Not that zombies can menace anyone that far out of reach. I'll get back to you on the outfit and equipment later today. Probably nothing new, but I just want to think about it for a bit.

I don't know how long it takes for a sprained ankle to heal, but Ben is in no particular hurry to put weight on that foot, so he'll have no problem taking as long as it takes. Do they have crutches somewhere? He'd most definitely want one. Not sure what type of activities he'd be up to while indisposed, but he'll try to stay in the loop as usual. And much like Patti he'd really want to know about all that magic stuff. Because apparently that's how you defeat hordes of undead, so he'd want to know what's possible and what's advisable. If the ankle heals well before the two weeks are up he'll of course join in the cleaning and zombie killing. Not sure who he'd be socialising with, but apparently it's important to get to know everyone in order to quickly spot strangers that might be demons. So he'll probably try to mingle a bit. Hobble around and bother people with "how's it going?" and "how are you doing?" and "what's happening?" I guess that could be a funny scene for Ben to be pictured in: Ben leaning on a crutch while trying to chat with one or two of the newcomers while they're busy dragging a zombie away.

I was debating attire for Patti's picture and I'm thinking the leather jacket (though she always wears it for protection) just doesn't reflect her character. So, let's go with something slightly less practical.
Black punk rock t-shirt Black high-fashion jeans Black and silver studded belt Black tactical pistol holster Death Stick framing hammer hanging on left hip Neon running shoes (any color will do, pink, yellow, blue, green, whatevs) Neon sunglasses (match shoes)
Let's go with her new hairstyle and, if you want, you could put some bandages on her forearms from the siege fight. She could have sunglasses that match her shoes too, but if you want to have some fun expression, maybe you could push those up on top of her head or hang them on the collar of her shirt.
For the shirt, I wasn't too committed to anything. Could be Ramones, Dead Kennedys, Dead Milkmen, the Misfits, or maybe the chaos globe from the cover of Bristle's "Won't Die for You" album. Whatever you would prefer to draw. You could represent something more obscure, if you'd like (Masskontroll?).
Also, it was safe to assume you were going to do these in black and white, but, if you could or would, maybe you could do just her neon accessories in color for contrast, unless you think that artistic technique is too overplayed.

A summary of the magical weeks!!!
Work: Alex moves tha bodies! He secretly looks for Emiliano and his college friends among them. When they clear the building, he switches to cleaning duties. Sadly, he's less productive than most, because brooms and mops inspire him to dance.
Socialization: Alex chillaxes with the usual suspects. Additionally, he bothers Nat above and beyond the call of duty (he even makes them friendship bracelets, aka "wristband IDs for our magic investigation team") and is VERY nice to the art students who witnessed Itoji (Casey, Briar, and Ibi). He's concerned about Wil and offers to do various useful things for him and Kaya. Alex also wants Judy to teach him Indonesian. Whether she will agree to this is another matter entirely. He doesn't seem to understand exactly what or where Indonesia is, unfortunately.
Spiritual Journey: After a week, Alex decides that Satanism isn't the answer to all his problems, so he becomes a Buddhist. By the end of the time skip, he'll decide that Buddhism is not his cup of tea and be religion shopping again.
Other: He is determined to understand the GREAT AND MYSTICAL FORCE that saved 403!!! Alex tackles this problem by interrogating people about the night's events in his amiable way.
A pic of Alex dancing with a broom during cleanup duty - with any NPC in the scene doing what NPCs do - would be fantastic! He wears polo shirts and jeans, always and forever (though, as time passes, his pastel polos will be slowly replaced with darker shades).

Hey folks! We were thinking it would be correct and appropriate to have you do a little creative writing about what ur guy did with the time skip - a bit more substance than a mere summary. A short story? A news report? A series of quatrains? Just as long as it includes the important info. If you want me to edit in some NPC dialog or events, just leave placeholdas throughout your tale. The skip will be two weeks. Below, I'm going to write replies to the summaries you've provided so far, which you can use as the basis for your masterpiece. Or if you're too busy with the day job, cut and paste what I do here into the appropriate place. When you're finished writing (or Ctrl-C Ctrl-V -ing), post it in your "Character Origins" thread. Then, when I'm done with the art, I'll post the pics relevant to your characters in those threads. You'll be getting new art resources for your guys soon as well. To the summaries! For Everyone- The very next night, everyone moved temporarily into the 320 Westlake condos across the street! The stench of death was much less of an issue there. Within a few days of hard work, the 403 building was cleared of bodies, and the big body pile was burned. Horrible! The major cleaning took a week, and the remaining scents were cleared out with bike operated fans and opened windows and doors blasting for a few days after that. Cool potpourri and such did the rest of the work, and by the end of week two, 403 was even fresher and more post-apoc in design than ever before! It was decided that some people would move into the condos and start the work of making them more apocalypse-safe and ready for new people that might move in. ((Decide if you want to stay in the 403 building or move next door. It's also a chance for you to choose new roommates, especially people with empty rooms in your apartments.)) Other enclaves received short visits from the 403 crew warning of possible genocide efforts by the mummy's boys, and had mixed reactions. Edgar's guys were totally uncommunicative. Jalil's guys confirmed that the Pan-Pac got raided by some kind of monsters that same night, but not the whole zombie horde. Jalil's building and the UWMRC were lucky to not get hit. El Corazon was inscrutable and other unnamed enclaves were also contacted. Patrol routines were tightened up and the ways into the building were reinforced with heavy metal gear. Solid! All the busted up guys got a bit better and did some hobbling around of their own, though Ivan was still moving like a ninety year old when he finally got up after the first week. Basil is wheelchair bound and Sharma, Kaito, and Tyrone look silly with various body parts wrapped up or immobilized. And Kaya is cleared to leave the clinic! Alex-
Alex doesn't get to see every single body, which is probably for the best. Some ex-zombies look familiar, but not quite like anyone he knew well.
After a few days, people are pretty damn convinced that re-possession isn't a thing to worry about. Plus most people never even got to see the possessed, having hidden before Itoji went berserk, so it doesn't seem as real to them. Nat is annoyed by Alex, but Alex is mercifully oblivious, and he does see a possible use for the crazy guy in going on missions to get stuff he would be too weenie to go for himself. Wil appreciates the kindness a lot, Kaya is doing a lot better. Judy secretly doesn't know Indonesian that well herself, but might be talked into "teaching" him if he agrees to the double date of doom.
In asking around, he might find out Eve is a devout Buddhist. Judy might tell him about how Islam is the light. Cathleen is keen to help Alex's spiritual journey stay dogma free. She's "spiritual," which is something Alex will hear a lot of people say if he asks them.
Eventually he finds out the truth of the rumors - Luke did some weird magic, possibly out a book (!), and his eyeball disappeared into thin air (never found it!), and people think it caused the mummy magic to stop working, probably just in the building and just for that night. Ben-
Ben gets crutches easily, and even the extent to which he hobbles around slows his recovery enough that he doesn't get up to heavier things until the two weeks is over. Unlike Alex, he uses his position on the council to find out all that is known about magic. Apparently, you don't have to be a creepy mummy to do magic, but big works will have creepy costs. Luke knows how to summon demons to grant wishes, but just a few specific demons, and he isn't cooperating. Nat, on the other hand, is cooperating, and says he thinks the difference between working magic and non-working stuff is a combination of intent and structure. The exorcism Ashley attempted was earnest, but not structured enough. Magic trinkets mass-manufactured in Taiwan don't work as well as the same thing made by a teenage girl in her basement. In short, the most useful thing most people will get out of magic is MAGIC ITEMS. Nat found out the hand-made spirit candles from the religious supply place keep ghosts at bay when burning. Unfortunately, there aren't many - just a dozen. Fortunately, they are slow burning.
It don't.
Ben mentioned this idea to the council and everyone was into it. A mixer was planned for after the work was done. Everyone get to know everyone or else! His own hobbling took a lot of work, but after making a list and checking it twice, he knows everybody's face and name. Micah-
All of that work shifts to the condos later the first day, and Micah helps re-establish the kitchen at 403 once people start moving in there again. Patti-
At first people were a little sheisty about that, but if she's OK with officially taking a title like "security consultant" and making actual input at meetings, Marie will be more warm to her being around. If she'll do that, she can find out everything Ben knows, the same way.
The best attitude to have about it.
Security Consultant Patti is on the council.
OK then... Ashley
Ashley was at a tense situation in the Pan-Pac plaza, where the cops answered no questions, barely allowed them to speak enough to issue the warning, and threatened them to leave. Some broken windows and such were visible from outside the building.
Ashley doesn't get into many meetings as a lot of them are closed door, but he's in a few. Everyone appreciated his help a lot. Nat is very hard to talk to, but Ashley does get the following info out of him - Magic isn't good or evil by itself, anyone can learn it, and it probably has to be more elaborate than the exorcisms Ashley attempted in order to work.
Sounds good!
