Tyrone- "Why wait?" Tyrone was getting impatient. Certainly creeping up slow when you knew there was any number of ghouls around was rather maddening. He put down his cudgel quietly, lit his flare, and went in fast, head tucked low as he moved, gun in front.
His notion is to find the snuffler and blast on it, plus clear any and all hiding places so his nerves can be less jangled while loading up in here.

What he mistook for snuffling was actually a number of small rats, which scrabbled and twitched in the shadows. However, what seemed to be the worst portion of this was the zombies they had been feeding on, who rose and lurched heavily towards the others, swinging bobby clubs, and opening gaping, somewhat rotted mouthes. Their eyes were empty and their faces appeared well chewed, with holes into their necks and down their arms, missing fingers, with uniforms full of holes, where the rats had started chewing and never stopped.
"Roooooouu." One of the zombies asks, making a soft noise. It was hard to tell who they had been, but Tyrone identifies one of the police zombies as a female, the other as a somewhat corpulent man, and the last as a thinner, somewhat fit man.

Ashley attacks them with a crowbar, and brains the woman with a single hard swing. He had gone beyond whatever was holding him back. Anyone with experience might say it was compassion fatigue, but in fact he just had pushed it out of his mind. They weren't people anymore, they were just objects. The woman hadn't bought him a sandwich once, she was just a piece of meat. A piece of meat. He swing hard, with surprising fierceness and violence. Tyrone kicked over the big guy and shot the thinner man once in the head, then finished the big one with a stomp. He doubled back for his club as Ben and Patti came into the cleared room."The end of the hall." He repeats.

Tyrone- "Sorra 'bout the noise, rat boys." Tyrone shooed the rats past his cudgel as he picked it up again, and waved his torch in the air a bit as he stood up again. He looked back the way they came nervously, then turned to bring up the rear, as Ashley led them to the end of the hall.

Ashley unlocked the room, which was just a large closet, and free of zombies, and then unlocks several of the cabinets inside of it. Within are extra cans of pepperspray, flares, and various other supplies. The smoke bombs were stored there with tazers as well. There didn't seem to be anything particularly lethal in here. "The heavy arms and armor is downstairs with the riot gear." He repeats to the others, while loading up on nonlethals and supplies. They would helpfully find pens, batteries and the like in here too.

Patti filled a large duffel bag with the good stuff. Most of this stuff was relatively heavy for its size, so the bag wasn't even close to full when she deemed it about the heaviest it would be reasonable to carry."Maybe we can stage some of this stuff at the front desk, move any firearms and ammo we don't plan on taking back today into the building next door, then come back for this stuff on our way out." (OOC - I'm gonna start coloring my descriptive text, because it does make things much easier to read. Doubt I start using the blockquote though.)

"Good idea, thank you Patti." He smiles at her grimly. They find a cart in here to help push heavy machinery soon.

Tyrone let himself get loaded up again, and when they resumed the hunt, he had his cudgel in one hand and a lit flare in the other. Ben- "I wonder if those rats are ghoul rats now?" Since they pretty much had lethal weapons covered, Ben stocked up on the non-lethal ones. Much like Patti he decided to stop when the sports bag started to feel a bit heavy. Tyrone- "Aw damn... Wait, if zombies are ascairt of ghouls, if those were rat ghouls, the zombies shoulda run from 'em. An' they'd be tryin' t' attack us an' turn us inta zombies. An' why aren't there any animal zombies?
Clearly I did not have enough wine before comin' here."

And now they have downstairs to look at. They can try going down the stairwell. "There is usually an elevator for easier access, but that is out of order." He remarks, stating the obvious now. Patti certainly remembered the only post-apoc elevator operation she witnessed - and the feeling of mute ghost Doretta passing through her."We should be prepared for zombies as we go down the stairs." And true he was. As soon as they came to the stairs, they found a pathetic broken zombie down near the bottom of the stairwell, having stumbled and broken itself several times. The crippled policewoman reached towards them. "ruuh?"

Trying to give Ash a small reprieve, Patti put a hand on his arm and stepped past him. She walked down the rest of the flight, slow enough that she could react if anything hopped out at her.
At the bottom of the stairs, she put a single bullet in the zombie's head. She dragged the corpse away, rolling it onto its face underneath the stairwell, out of sight coming and going.

"Thank you Patti." He says softly as he walks near her. The door at the bottom of the stairs can be pushed open, and leads to another corrodor with zombies littered throughout. These ones are more able-bodied than the ones that came before them. Two large men, and one smaller one notice her, one of them has a head that seems barely attached in some way, and drags its feet. Ashley takes out his crowbar and seems ready to swing it, since all of these zombies seem free of their guns, instead wielding billy clubs at close range.

Tyrone only advances if the corridor is wide enough or one of the forward people needs to tap out. Tyrone- "It's like Enter the Dragon down hera!"

Ben was back there with Tyrone, trying to provide as much light as possible, while also looking behind them, and keeping an eye out for the source(s) of the ghost-smell.

They cleared out the zombies at record speed, and afterwards had a good look at the hallway. There were more rotted bodies scattered here and there, but overall, no other zombies of interest appeared there. Things were quiet and still.
