Only a block from 403. Seems to be full of zombies. Sharma, Thierry and Columbo used to work here. RUMORS: There's still a helicopter on the roof! Gross burning smell sometimes. Somebody is moving around in there. Someone saw lights inside. Zombies act weird there.

Ben had his bokken and a metal broomstick refit with a road flare head. The pole didn't have a good way for slinging, so he had to carry it with him and drop it temporarily to use his bokken if he needed to. Good thing he'd practiced his quick drawing techniques!
Lashonda and Ben stayed close to each other and Nora, protecting her while she operated the zombie mower. Lashonda had her usual bladed club, and one road flare under her belt.
Nora had a light club and backup flare, but hoped not to have to use them. She focused her efforts on wheeling the zombie mower around. She had been outfitted with a light welding mask, a rain slicker, and work gloves. She dressed very lightly below that for the heat.
Ivan had his usual three foot pole weapon and two road flares. He and Tyrone stayed limber to do any running around that might become necessary.
Tyrone carried his usual four foot pole and packed a pistola. His duties would be similar to Ivan's, but for the additional responsibility of being handy with a heater. Nora wheeled the zombie mower to the gate and waited with Lashonda and Ben. Tyrone and Ivan drove a few cars out from the garage. Two would likely be sufficient. They opened the barrier and drove through, pausing on Terry while Lashonda and Ben reclosed it.
There were no zombies in sight. Ashy dark patches had been diluted by rain, leaving the streets mottled but not quite as horrific as they'd been right after the cremations. Charred bones had been swept into piles in the gutters. A raccoon trundled nervously near Mercer.
The main block of the Amazon campus was right across the street, its large open courtyard flanked by two several story buildings, and centrally had a large terrace of stairs leading up to a smaller brick building in between the two. The doors to all the buildings had been previously blocked with car and SUVs, trapping zombies within. The courtyard was clear.
Tyrone and Ivan drove the cars out onto the lower level of the courtyard.goo.gl/maps/XaecJ Tyrone- He looked out the window at Ben. "Hey now, we can pull these up along the cars we got thera, get in them and drive 'em to the sides, and thur we go. So th' question is, right or left buildin'? Or you wanna start with th' small one in th' middle?"

Ben- "Ehh, it's probably better to start with the small one. We'll probably be here for a few days, and if we clear that one first we could use it as a base of operations or something. Besides, a smaller building should have less zombies, so if we screw up we'll be in less trouble." Ben was curious as to what all these buildings actually contained, but they'd find out soon enough. He was also a bit worried about the rumours of something strange going on. Zombies behaving weirdly didn't sound promising at all, since the whole zombie genocide strategy depended on zombies being predictable. But hopefully the Amazombies wouldn't be too different.((The small building is the Van Vorst, isn't it? Looks like it might be tricky to get a car up those stairs. But if they did it before to block the doors, maybe there are planks and such to form a makeshift ramp?
--Van Vorst only has two comparatively narrow doors, one in the north and one in the south. Small vehicles can be forced through the passages from Boren, which is how Van Vorst was sealed before. It doesn't have the big wide doors that necessitated the tunnel, so maybe folks can just open one door, position the mower, and go to town. Planks no necessita. Yes?
Speaking of cars and planks though: Did they notice any car-sized hole in one of the street barricades from last night? Is Ben annoyed at the inconsiderate motorists who did it? ))
--Gutless and Hebbukel pushed through the cars a few blocks away, but did not pass through one of our barriers.

--Tyrone and Ivan left the cars on the plaza and got out. A quick look told them the north door was the easiest approach for the zombie mower, and the smaller doors on this building wouldn't necessitate the tunnel of cars.
People got into position. Ivan- "I'll just roll this jeep outta the way and you guys can get down to business." -- From here the plaza extended a short way to Boren, which Lashonda kept an eye on, and back the other way to the larger part of the plaza, where others focused their attention. Nora got the ZM ready to go.

tab tab Ben- tab "All right then. Let's hope that they're ready in there, or we'll have to go in and get them." Ben looked around for something that would hold the door open, and then proceeded to open the door and make sure that it would stay that way.((North and south? So they don't have doors facing the plaza? Once again I seem to have assumed too much! Which is why I rely on you to describe every little thing. )

Lashonda wasn't paying attention, weirdly. She peered into the dim windows of the other nearby building, "Day One North." Lashonda- "The fuck is going on in there?"

tab Ben beheld the carnage with equal parts fascination and repulsion. Maybe they'd just enter from the other side once all the zombies had ceased coming? Because this entrance would probably be a bit too slippery for comfort.((How does that mower really work? Is it like the one in Dead Alive/Braindead?))

The zombie mower a machine built put on a cart for easy wheeling, with its nasty bits pointed forward. A shield keeps chunks from falling into the engine, and Nora pushes it forward to the closest zombie. The press of zombies behind it insures it can't dodge, and it is ripped up. Nora was indeed inspired by the movie in question, but this machine is built for this purpose, and therefore easier and better to use. Tyrone- "That's good an' nasty."

Lashonda waved a hand in Ben's peripheral vision to get his attention without triggering his kill reflexes. Lashonda- "I think something weird is going on here!" She had to shout to be heard above the mower.

Tyrone gave Ben a nod, a non-verbal "We got this covered," freeing Ben and Lashonda to check things out. She led him a few feet away and pointed down.
The floors inside Day One North didn't line up neatly with the courtyard outside, which had a slow ramp up to Boren there. Right next to the ground was lined with slightly tinted windows, revealing some kind of cafeteria inside. Ben couldn't see much more. There didn't seem to be any zombies in there. Lashonda- "There was a zombie in there. Kinda ran this way, then that. Seemed like it was afraid. Something else in there too - what it was afraid of. Humanoid. Maybe another zombie? I know they attack each other sometimes, but I've never seen one move like that. Unless I'm trippin'."

Ben- "Ran, you say? We've seen zombies move quite fast at times, but if it also was afraid of something... Maybe it's a human who's managed to survive by hiding in offices and tricking zombies to go to the wrong places? Or did it look like a really rotten zombie?" Should they call off the middle building and focus on the north one? Ben recalled the rumours of lights and burning, and he had been thinking that it could be a survivor or a group of survivors. Offices like these were large enough that they could be considered a miniature city, so survivors didn't seem out of the question. Though why hadn't they dared to go outside? A lot less zombies outside than inside now.
GM- Even worse, the vehicles blocking the doors were still in place! Had there been people trapped inside the whole time?

Lashonda- "Well, ran as much as they can... It was tore up, had ta be a zombie. The others, I don't know." The team on the other side did its horrific business without incident. Zombie Mower = Success!

Ben- "Tore up? Missing an arm or something? Because if it was just covered in blood and stuff I wouldn't rule out a wounded human who hasn't washed in over a month. Or even a human who's trying to look like a zombie to blend in." Ben had once pondered how a human might find a way to move among zombies without attracting their attention. But with the 403 being the best place ever he'd never had a reason to try something that risky.
