Poor Micah. Life really didn't get better than senior year in high school. Easy classes, spectacular games, charged pep rallies, senior pranks, parties, the prom ... what kind of family would deny their kid those experiences and let him drop out of school? Before Alex could comment to that effect, billiards zombies attacked. He was momentarily distracted by Patti's razzle dazzle slide across the car hood. So cool. Then, Alex took his crowbar and unleashed a series of fight moves that were 1/3 beginner's kendo, 1/3 Ashley's cop style smackdown, 1/3 batter's up swinging, and 100% heeeYAH! From there, he followed Patti and occasionally spared Ashley an inquisitive glance. Could he really be taking drugs? Surely not! But that smile, especially among so much carnage, was deeply unnerving. As they reached the parking lot outside the AGC building, Alex noticed a small man who'd recently died (judging by his fairly intact body) shuffling near tree. An electrical cord noose trailed from his neck like a leash; the end dangling behind him was attacked to a piece of wood that clattered over the ground. Alex just couldn't bring himself to kill the poor guy, though the zombie came closer, drawn to the group ... "Somebody else, please. Please stop him."

He shot a glance at Alex before shuffling up to the zombie. It was best not to shout. Good thing this wasn't one of his best outfits. "Alex, that's unlike you." He remarks, before taking a crowbar to the suicidal man. That poor creature was bound for hell, he supposes he could not blame him, but it was unwise. The Kingdom of Heaven awaited the virtuous. He wondered, vaguely if he'd be like that James Bond movie after death. YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE. That was a good song. Did animals becomes zombies? Were there zombie cats out there somewhere? Rats? Pigeons? He was pretty sure there weren't or else they'd be swarmed by the pigeons they had been eating from time to time, or the meat from cans. The animals were safe for now, for some reason.

Micah watched Ash and Patti in half horror and amusement. There was clearly something going on between them but what was most obvious was how much they both got their rocks off on violence. How they both had survived in the pre-apocalypse without going all serial killer was beyond him. He wondered what kind of personal trainer Ash had been! One he lacked any social skills required and two he fought like a fucker with a fuckload of experience. Maybe he'd been a personal trainer for the mafia... Micah imagined the two would get into the whole sadism/ masochism thing, Ash was probably Patti's gimp or something, the woman did like her leather quite a bit. He was starting to feel less sick which was nice and his headache had finally packed its bags. As they neared the carpark of large building Micah took to be their first destination, he saw Alex freak over a guy attached to some kind of log. Had he been an office prank gone wrong, suicide or did he really like logs?Either way Ash took to it with a crowbar like a Tarantino character, the guy still smiled as the poor dickhead's head smushed to bloody pieces and blood sprayed everywhere. Micah was surprised the guy didn't have a boner or something. Some people needed serious help, one ' personal trainer' especially. Was he humming a Bond theme? "Are you alright there Ash? You look like your having a fucking orgasm over killing that zombie? Are you really a fucking personal trainer? Who'd you train? Fucking Tony Soprano?"

Alex cringed. Oh, Lord. Micah said orgasm in front of repressed and possibly demented cop. Better interrupt before their outing took a sour turn. "SIR, SORRY, SIR! I froze. It's just ... not fair." Unwilling to evoke a theological argument about suicide and damnation, Alex left it at that. He glanced anxiously between Ashley and Micah. Had the distraction worked?

Somewhere, someone was calling him. He had been watching Patti. She said she had learned most of this defensively, but he saw her as an offensive creature, all the grace of a predator. Like a cougar. He...paused and decided that was a horrible choice of words. Tiger. That's it, tigeress. He turned to face whoever addressed him, and then, slowly, comprehended what the Australian boy was saying to him. His smile melted off his face as if he had seen the Arc of the Covenant. "...What? WHAT?" He wasn't even sure if he was responding. Did this guy have Tourette syndrome? How did this stuff come out of his mouth? He was so shocked he couldn't even be angry. Instead he found himself turning a sickly shade of his normally olive skin tone. "I worked at a gym. And these creatures are dead. I've been thinking of something else during this outing." He grumbled, after a brief spat of raising his voice. Did he really look that frightening when he was in a good mood? Had...well, no, he wasn't going to answer that. He was pretty sure his good mood was what terrified them. How strange, he had always thought the boys were put on edge by foul moods, but this seemed most frightening to them of all. He hesitates, unsure if he's embarrassed or not, and rather unwilling to let those insults side off him unreturned, before returning to Alex. "It's alright, Alex, nothing is fair. When I die I will be one of them too. Nothing to get worked up about. I think...well, that's not something that you kids need to be involved in." He frowns, and looks after Patti. What if they had to defeat this mummy boy creature, somehow. But how, if the military and the police, and all the people had failed? He didn't know. That bothered him. His enemy stared him in the face, and he turned away from weakness. "I got him, it's ok." His voice almost sounded gentle. Almost.

Micah grinned, he really should keep his mouth shut but as always it got the better of him. " So this gym, yeah? Did a large fucking group of men meet in the back room once a week? I'd say what they called it but then I'd be breaking the first fucking rule. Who thinks of sex when their killing zombies? Were you thinking of Ms Patti?" It really was a wonder that Micah had survived this long in life without being losing a few teeth but then that's were his running and parkour skills were for. Sometimes even Micah wanted to punch himself.

"WHAT? WHAAAT?" He started to turn bright red. Bright red. "I was NOT doing ANYTHING of the sort, what the HELL are you going on about?" He asks, almost barking out the words, before he was reminded he should be quiet. Silence was a virtue... "I used to box when I was younger, and I studied mixed martial arts." He growls. The second part, which he didn't totally understand, was easy to brush off. He was hardly any kind of master, of any kind, or even really amateur material, but it did improve him some.

"Guys, Patti will hear! Don't be rude." She wasn't that far away. "And Mr. Ashley is not a mafia thug, I promise. Let's just mooove on. No more f-words and o-words." He hoped they didn't start fighting. If that happened, Alex would have to break it up, and people ALWAYS aimed for the face during scraps. If anything happened to his face, he'd freak.

Patti raised her voice a little, but not too much. "Hey! Curly! Larry! Moe! Get your asses over here!" She had her back pressed up against the building, near the entrance of the restaurant. She waited for the three stooges to catch up. "There's a few zombies milling around up in the Starbucks parking lot. I'm thinking we should just go inside and see what we see. There's a loading dock over there, under the raised parking lot. I'd say that's our best point of entry." (OOC - Move to the AGC thread!)

The cloying metallic smell of blood hung in the air, white and grey feathers littered the ground with flashes of red. The dead geese were pilled together in a heap. The park was mostly lawn with a few lemon shaped gardens with small trees and flowers. The lawn was no longer as immaculate as those who may have been there would remember, where there was order, grassy chaos now roamed. The geese along with a few ducks and birds had made it their home and the boardwalk around the lake was now mostly covered in droppings and feathers. The museum of history and industry loomed on the right side. A couple of zombies aimlessly moved from the far end of the carpark towards the group and the smell of blood. There was also a slight movement along the south left corner...
((Setting the scene heh heh heh, if anyone who has actually been there or has better info or anything needs to be changed for accuracy let me know. I just used google street view. I left number of dead geese up to Brett and Jara.))

Patti was happy with the harvest. The action on the Benelli wasn't nearly as smooth as her skeet or hunting guns, and she only took two more than Ash had. Still, eight geese would provide at least eighty pounds of consumable meat, so eating would be good the next two days. Hmmm... they could boil one whole (after cleaning and dressing it of course) in a pot and prepare it like a chicken and noodle soup. She was pretty sure they could whip up some fresh egg noodles easily enough. She scanned the area. She counted two-no, three zombies within two hundred meters. They had plenty of time to load these geese into the abandoned baby stroller they had found.

Alex glimpsed something moving in the southwest lake area. Was that a large dog? It had glossy black fur and was partially obscured by a car abandoned on the grass. "Hey, boy!" He had a half-finished biscotti (it was gross, but didn't have any chocolate) tucked in his pocket. Alex took threw a piece at the dog and stepped a bit closer ... "HYAAA! THAT'S A BEAR!" The black bear carried a human arm in its mouth. It noticed our intrepid explorers ... ((Somebody who knows bear behavior, I TAG YOU GO GO GO))

The bear huff huffed, startled, and seemed agitated by the shouting, pacing back and forth, but unwilling to drop the arm. Its head weaved back and forth, ominously, but had not roared yet. It was making up its mind.
It had a heavier, more C-shaped body than any dog, and though not taller than a large dog, it had a strange, sort of weaving pattern of movement, with a low-slung head, and small, dark eyes. The face beneath was tan.
To anyone knowledgeable, it was just a black bear. However, it was a black bear who had gotten used to easy food via zombified human bodies.

"We should back away, and just leave. They are not known for their aggression. I've seen plenty." He remarks, though the behavior he saw was not quite the easily-fleeing animals he was used to. It was trying to decide what to do with them. He wondered if the rumors of them becoming dependent on human flesh was true.

Alex knew what to do. He'd take off his shirt. If it charged, he planned to wave the cloth around, just like a bull fighter. "Y ... yes ... back away ... slowly."
