Ben got up and went to the lightswitch on the wall, trying to see if power had come back or if they should worry about a haunted elevator.
Stevie- "Like hell we have power... Elevator must be possessed!"
He leapt up as well, stepping into the hall just after Ben tried the light switch. The habit among some people is to leave their weapon in the corner of any room they go to, but this group had become somewhat more relaxed. Still, they had tools that would work in a pinch, and Sonya followed close behind Ben with a claw hammer.
tab Ben thought about grabbing the bokken from his apartment bedroom, but that would only be useful if the elevator was filled with zombies. And that seemed unlikely. Unless a ghost or demon had managed to lead zombies into the building. Could that have happened without anyone noticing it? Possibly. But still unlikely.
tab "6th floor. I guess we'd better go up there and see what's going on," Ben said as he moved towards the closest staircase. "Though whatever is going on might be going on in the elevator shaft. There must be some kind of breaker box for that elevator, right?"
tab Ben figured that while he was no athlete, he was younger than Stevie and probably in slightly better shape, so he should be the one running down the stairs and then up again. He looked at the large screwdriver in his hands. A pitiful excuse for a weapon against zombies.
tab "Well... If I'm going to have to beat back a breach I'd like my bokken. But I guess I could come back up and get more people if there really is a breach? So... See you two later!"
tab Ben took off down the stairs, keeping a hand on the railing in case he needed to steady himself.
