AWW! That's the book the spiders was from and the VIPER! I read that. Maybe that's what messed me up? And the bride.

Dkender, that illustration is on the cover of a prominently displayed book in our room! So spooky. I loved those books so much. I would use a piece of paper to cover the illustration while I read the story, and then peek under the paper at the end because it was too scary otherwise. I think I do have that pumpkin somewhere... It was totally not even meant to be snuggled with, it was just meant to be decoration I think but it was my teddy. Actually yesterday we went out Halloween shopping and I bought a stuffed vampire and a stuffed black cat wearing a witch hat so I guess I never changed, hahaha.

Sorry for being over-posty once more in my holidayfication and lack of job prospects but I was watching a movie last night, which reminded me of one of the possibly best vampire movies ever. Which I thought I'd recommend to everyone, Martin by George Romero, it was done in 1976 but gosh it was brilliant. A bit of a is he or isn't he situation but really well done, spooky and with great characters. www.imdb.com/title/tt0077914/

Well, I'll be damned! A horror movie I've never seen ... hat's off to you! Once finals wrap up, Martin's on my list. One of the more poignant "is he or isn't he" type movies I've watched lately was Spiral (2007) - urrr, well, it's more disturbing psychological thriller than horror. Still counts.

Oh wonderful! I haven't seen that one either Indea, but I'm always a fan of good old George. Thanks for the tip! @ Dkender-- Do I assume by Spiral, you don't mean the Japanese film "Uzumaki" based on the comic by our friend Junji Ito?

@ Kelly - Ehehe, not Uzumaki, though I've watched that, too. Sadly, it didn't live up to the manga. Then again, few things do. Our Lord and Master Junji Ito did an excellent job slowly building up a sense of dread and investment in the characters through those three volumes. People always ask me if my favorite Ito comic thingie is Gyo - because OOOOCEAN and SHARKS ON LAND - but Uzumaki takes a more cherished place in my heart.
Anyways, the Spiral I referred to earlier was an indie film starring Joel David Moore and Amber Tamblyn, and the end was rockin. I'd say that the ending elevated it, in my mind, from an awwright movie to a guuud movie. I made this face during the entire last fifteen minutes or so:
D8
And in case anybody is wondering why I'm awake at 3:20 AM, it's finals week!

For those of us playing at home with iPads/ IPhones, there is a brilliant new game called 'Into the dead' that is free at the moment. It's a zombie survival run and you can use tilt for controls and shooting or hacking the zombies once you earn enough points. The main draw is some extremely nice graphics and pelting across fields while avoiding or shooting the heck out of zombies. Plus free!

It's not like I have anything I need to be doing. ;-)

DKender- I just remembered, did you end up watching Martin? What did you think? Another reccomendation for peeps is American horror story, I have only watched the first episode but it seems reasonably promising. Kooky and creepy, but there is a little bit of stereotyped characters but i am hoping that will fade. It has at least past the test of making me want it watch more though. Has anyone watched it, does it get better or worse?

First season or second? I started to watch the first season, but it got too... (adjective) for me. I'd specify the adjective, but I don't really know what it was. Perhaps I'm uncomfortable with infidelity. I'm kind of vanilla like that.

@ Indea - Around my city, Martin seems to be rarer than jazz bars. Too weird to live, and too rare to die, don'tcha know. None of the movie places carry it. ;-; I'm considering joining netflix for a free month trial to get the DVD and a few others. Does anybody know if Netflix still delivers movies? Failing that, I'll stop being a cheapo and just order it from Amazon. NEVER MIND! My friend from work just gave me her copy for the low price of my loving gratitude. It's so coool. This DVD even has special features like commentary from Romero.
@ Brett - I find that the infidelity angle is often overused and handled poorly, perhaps to create quick drama? It's annoying.

The first season, so yeah in the haunted house. The asylum story looks more interesting. Although I found out it's done by the same people who do Glee, which is somewhat worrying,.
Yeah I agree, way overused. I think it is used in a lot of cases to make sure you don't care about a character. Although in this case it seems to be justifying her consequential infidelity, it's okay because he did it first kind of thing. I don't think you should feel boring or vanilla because your a fan of fidelity, that seems pretty strange to me.

Randomly, I was looking at concept art for the now dead as a doornail Hellraiser remake. Bet you'd love the female cenobite's reincarnation, Jara. TROLOL. But, man, Clive Barker movies. Candyman was surprisingly more complex than I'd expected, going in.
