(( DKender Dr. Maneep Pamplemousse ))
The guy called Lennie escorted Tim & Eric to R&D, never referring to them by their real names. R&D was down twisty paths, through pile of paperwork and a heavy red set of double doors, and into a dimly lit forest of wires and beige business machines. There they were led into an operating room with two beds.
Lennie- "These are Mrs. Davenport and Mr. McCoy."
Davenport- "*consulting more of those magical manila envelopes*"

"Are those beds for us? I've never buddied up on an operation before. Have you, Eri ... uh ... Emilio?" He wasn't thrilled to let a strange guy seeing his innards. Well, they'd probably both be unconscious, anyway.

Eric thought very, very briefly about what in the hell he thought he was doing, then decided that if this was really a bad idea, he'd feel more anxiety or tension about his decision. Emilio strode up next to Robert and glanced approvingly around the surgical theater.Emilio- "It all looks legit to me, Robert." He seemed to be bobbing his head a little to a tune inside his head. "Better get ready... Gonna see the light... Love, love is the answer, whoo-hoo..."

She put down the envelope.
Davenport- "Don't worry. We can pull the curtain between the tables. Also, it's all minimally invasive."
McCoy- "Minimally."
Lennie- "Are you both ready?"
Lennie started distributing thin plastic aprons and long gloves.

Emilio- "So... Do I need to take my shirt off or anything? It's not gonna hurt, is it?"

Timothy nodded and sprawled on his bed."I'm mostly afraid that we'll wake up with our heads buzzing, because the kids are lurking inside the house, so to speak. It's good to meet you, by the way. You remind me of my old high school teacher, Mrs. Davenport." But he was sure they were different people!

Davenport generally took charge and McCoy wordlessly offered something like barbershop capes to put about their necks. Davenport- "No, everything is above the neckline today... Why thank you, I think..."
Lennie- "..." The guys were shortly looking like severed heads sprouting from Halloween ghost bodies.

Emilio- "Dammit, Ed! I'm a man, not a Jack-o-Lantern." (Finger guns)

"Whatever you say, Jack." He returned the guns, though the ghost sheet obscured everything but the hint of movement.

McCoy- "...?"
Davenport- "Your name is McCoy."
McCoy- "Oh. Ha."
Lennie- "..." Lennie drew a thin plastic curtain between the swaddled men, leaving Timothy alone with Davenport, and the rest with Eric. Of course, both sides could hear each other perfectly well in the small space.
On Eric's side, Lennie retrieved a small styrofoam box while McCoy put the intern's ear through a latex sheet. On Timothy's side, Davenport explained Davenport- "The procedure is minimally invasive, but involves an awkward sensation most would rather not experience. Would you like to be unconscious for a few minutes?"

"Unless there will be unbearable pain involved, I'd rather stay conscious. A little discomfort is better than falling asleep and never waking up." Timothy was sure that death during anesthesia happened all the time about 0.01% of the time.

Eric heard Davenport from the other side of the screen.Davenport- "Not for you..." Then she turned to Timothy. Davenport- "Mm, OK then."
She took a strange device like an oversized hair dryer with clear plastic elements, and raised it to his face. Back on the Eric side,
McCoy- "This shouldn't require unconsciousness as it's just a little discomfort and then done. Not too jarring. Let's see..." He used surgical tubing and oddly shaped clamps to try to secure the latex shield. Eric felt like his head was being fitted with vacuum cleaner parts, and the procedure had yet to begin.
Lennie- "Nice and easy."

Eric wasn't exactly cooperative with the fitting.Emilio- "Wai-wha-sh-she said I could be unconscious. I wanna be unconscious, man. I need to be unconscious, man...
Doot-doo, doot-doo, ahhhh..." He remained mad twitchy but eventually cooperated with Bones.

McCoy- "Oh nonono, you just relax. It really would be a waste of resources to do that when you'll hardly feel a thing." He was resting his hands firmly on the front and back of his neck, but not enough to constrict the air. Steadying the head?
Lennie- "Really, it's like a wet willy. Ever had a wet willy? Of course you have."
On the other side, Davenport had the device in position over Timothy's left eye. It was like looking into an MRI machine built for one. Eyeball. Davenport- "I'm going to take something out of place, but don't worry. I'll put it right back when I'm done. Ready?"
