∆§Indea§∆- sure, hmm I'm terrible at coming up with summaries, but it's generally about someone who is afraid of hell. It's gonna be super dark, and not the cheeky 'dark' I usually end up doing by default. I HOPE! I've been looking at a lot of Chick tracts for reference. I had the idea years ago, and had always imagined it as a comic, but now I'm thinking it would work best as a novel anyway, maybe with some illustrations. But I better try writing it... I'm still at word 0.

◊◊BLOODBEASTER◊◊- Sounds awesome! Think of the furnace babies! Sebastian- I think of a basic plot then just let it flow. I think this year I have a little more cohesive idea of where I want it to go however.

Thanks Indea, that was some much needed Riveting. I finally vom'd up some words, but not up to par yet. How are you doing? @ Sebastian -- I wing it, haha. This year I'm working with an idea I came up w/ before, but I've never written any of it down. I tried to not let myself think of it, so I could be fresh for when I do this. I have some check points in my head, and I work them out as I go. Kinda like I do with KF, honestly. I have a general notion of how things will go but I don't know any of the specifics. Sometimes I don't have even that much, which has led to mixed results. EDIT: Excerpt responses! Indea --I forgot it was going to be fantasy and it's funny how far you can read and just imagine that 'imp' and 'fairy' are just colorful descriptions for humans. You're doing a really great job setting the scene and the characters without dwelling on mythos too hard, which is why I don't usually like fantasy. It flowed really well, and I am actually interested in what gnomes and dragon slayers are doing! Fantastic work! C -- Aww, I got all emo at the end, maybe it hits too close to home. ;_; I'm into it man, I'm stoked to have that shit get all magical realistic!

What are all your stories about, people who have yet to divulge info? Inquiring minds want to know! (You don't have to share anything you don't want to, of course.)

∆§Indea§∆ - Oh, Indea! I just finished reading what you have so far and definitely enjoyed myself. I look forward to seeing how things go and how the characters are related to one another. Have you ever played The Book of Unwritten Tales? Your story reminds me of it.

Kind of nervous about showing my stuff (since it's a YA piece, I feel like it's almost too juvenile to show my friends), but I'd still like to post things up. How do I get a folder on the NanoNovels board?

Kristi is prescribed skeletons- Thanks, no I haven't. Plot: Lowly Tavern workers accidentally kill the chosen one of the great prophecy. The world is screwed.... or is it? The incompetent group team up to try to fulfil the prophecy in their own way. ◊◊BLOODBEASTER◊◊- Aww thanks, i think it helps it's mostly a parody but yeah screw mythos. It ends up being all the same anyways. -Heatwave~~ Crappola? HA! HA! HA, I say! It was a fantastic start and very dark in a non-cheeky manner! I relate far too closely to the poor protagonist... I'm living it. ;-;

Sir Milo Quartermass -- Sure you can create yr own thread on Nanonovels, just go in the board and click 'create thread' on the upper right if you haven't made a thread on here before. Let me know if you need any help. ∆§Indea§∆ -- thx! I was glad to finally get something down. It has a lot of 'he did this he did that' sentence starts but no editing so w/e.

Last year's story (only time I've won) started when the summer I turned 16, when I was doing catch-up credit at the community college & learned about Camus & other philosophers for the first time. My moustachioed philosophy prof thought that guy was the shit. The ideas stayed with me, but I had never read more than a bit of the source. So when NaNo was coming, I thought of doing a novel where I read and respond to Camus through a character who is a high school kid. The famous turning point in the plot of his The Stranger gave me a strong feeling for the in-story plot - my Sixth Sense ending. So while knowing exactly hoe the story would end and vaguely what would happen along the way, I let my reading of Camus (guided by SparkNotes) & the characters I'd created shape the specifics. My only outline was a list of chapters, which I named simply after the writing used to inspire them. The results were strong, I thought, except for a few chapters leading up to the midpoint that came off too book report-like. I'd have to edit those to make it fit to distribute, but overall, I was a happy dude. This year, I have a small jumble of themes and plot events in my head, and no structure. I am also working more than full time and have srs doubts this is going to go as well. ∆§Indea§∆ - That "knowin where its goin" sounds promising. The stuff you have up there is ruff, but in a way that shows your energy. Keep the blood flowin' yo! I look forward to seeing what happens to Chosen One dude. Kristi is prescribed skeletons - It may be easier here, but if you post links in nanochat every time you update, that might suffice. My new story is about how a person priced out of her apartment in the boom-bust real estate shitstorm ends up living illegally in her place after she supposedly moved out, and ultimately fills one floor of a fancy new building with squatters. Then some magical horrorish poop happens that is metaphor of something left wingish in me. ◊◊BLOODBEASTER◊◊ - Thx boo! Let us write together like demons...
