Sylvia- "AH EVIL SHADOW MERMEN IN THE SWIMMING POOL!" She tossed a piece of rubble at the shadowy beings. What were these things anyways? She stared at them with a mixture of mild horror and fascination. Some sort of permutation of ghosts maybe? [9] Bregga- Breg stares at the creatures. If there are people at the other end happily lobbing things into that pool, these creatures couldn't really be that dangerous, could they? [17] "Can they harm us?" She turned her face away as she caught a whiff of their foul smell. It wasn't her favorite to be sure...

Breg thought they reminded her of something else. Something flammable and ghosty? Was it worth a shot. Sylvia and Molly could see that they were no good, they could feel a deep sadness drawing them into those dark wet eyes. The wet scales glistening and fading out at the same time. Mouths taking ragged breaths of invisible air.
Suddenly Breg noticed Rob moving slowly towards the pool. Tears ran down his face...
"M..Martin?" "Mrrruuuh..."

Breg- "ROBERT!" She reaches out and grabs onto his arm, while fishing for a flare. It wasn't much but it may be enough flame... It was certainly enough to catch ghosts.."What are these terrible things?" Sylvia- "Rob hey dude don't go towards those things!" She admitted she was feeling a little miserable herself, and drifted towards the pool, before her hand was grabbed by Breg. "Let go, I'm just looking!"

Like Rob, Molly felt drawn towards the ghostly mermen, towards the clear waters of the pool. Closer, closer.
Rob struggled for a moment before snapping out of it. He slumped against Breg before catching himself."Poor Martin, he was the sound technician. We have to do something." The blonde hipster held up the matches.
"Yeah mann, poor Martin. It just kinda happened, major bummer."
He began throwing the lit matches at them again much to the annoyance of the shouty Indian girl "Tell me you guys have a better plan?"

Now that Breg had her hands full with Robert AND Sylvia, Wolf went for his flare. He popped the cap, igniting it."Y'all should step back." He waited a moment to make sure nobody would lose their lovely eyebrows before throwing the flare towards the dark spirits.

"FSSHHHHHHHttttt" The dark merman ghosts sunk back into the pool and the flare landed uselessly beside it, fizzling against the damp surface. Molly no longer felt the call to the pool and her poetic moment ended."Darkness like a velvety black ink bowl, shrinking from fire's soft caress." Dawnstar seemed content to stand back and watch. Hiro was in shock, holding onto the banner rail of the stairs."Oh sod off, Dawnpuddle! What do we do now? They're just gonna come back. Fuck!"

"If you want to be a dick. We're kinda stuck over here playing the peek-a-boo game. These things used to be our friends.. It's fucked up."
To prove her point the girl ran towards the exit only for the dark ghosts to rise up again like a moist wall. The dead fish smell strong again.
One merman flicked out it's eyes intent on Molly. She felt the need to move towards the pool again, end the deep misery that punctured her being like a sword. All her worst memories danced in her head and she could end it all, all she needed to do was reach the pool.
The soft blue ripples sparkled in the sunlight.

((Sorry I am a newb GM, so the pool is large and in the centre of the room. Nun crew are on one side, film crew on the other. The three crew members are on the other side from the entrance and cannot exit from their position due to the ghostage. The film crew have stairs behind them leading out. The mansion is shambolic hence a lot of entrances have caved in or are blocked, so there may be another exit, it's just not obvious at all.))

"Wasn't tryin' to be a dick. If you don't mind losing some hair, I can lob you some of these flares and you can lead with them on your way around. It's a little, eh, 'xplosive, but it'll get the job done. Or we can circle around and come through the wall behind ya'."

Breg- "...I have some flares too...Maybe if we could get some rope they can get back over here... We have matches to..." Breg let go of Rob and Sylvia and slumped back from the pool with a sigh.Sylvia- "Hey I'm not a baby!" She stared back at Breg with a frown, and then reached for a flare herself, putting the gun down. "YOU GUYS, maybe we can like..make a chain of bags or something..."

Molly was haunted by memories she usually ignored: she remembered the day her phone rang at three AM. Her mother's voice sounded hollow that night. "He's gone ..." It had been so sudden, and Molly was so far from home, real home, not the one-room apartment in Seattle she shared with two strangers. When her father died, Molly's dreams began to rot. Now, they were truly dead, just like most of the population shambling about outside. What was she sticking around for, anyway?
She sighed, dropped her bat, and ran towards the abyss.
And by abyss, I mean pool.

Wolf's face went white. He ran after Molly as fast as he could. He'd probably hurt her with a tackle, but it was better than the alternative.
