Florence- "I think the spirits get the idea." Inka- "These are all talismans and magical things. Maybe one could help you with thisnyite?"
Florence- "They can't hurt. I think this one was made by an ogre." Inka- "Avery chime we begin the magic, we roll the Will from our skulls like a little bag you see."
Florence- "That wand just isn't working for you. It's a shame. It's kind of cute." Inka- "Aww, he got away."
Florence- "You just might need it. Francesca loves to hex people just because she can." Inka- "GO NOW, FIEPILO, BRING MAGIC TO OUR WAYWARD CHILD!!!"

TREVOR MONTAGE (SORT OF): IT'S MAGIC! ((I'm taking some risks and writing things as I wish to avoid lengthy back-and-forth RPing. Please add missing information and fix anything that's incorrect.)) <NOTED. See edits in orange below. (-mod) As a new wizard, Trevor would be more reliant on rituals and gestures than the elder Lepponens, so Florence and Inka picked out some important basic magic for him to learn, and helped him translate a few other simple spells of his choice. For ease, he made sure to personalize the chants into Kohonese.A small pouch sat among some darkly hued, but very dusty marbles and a tiny, fossilized bird skull. Its fabric was rough and brittle with age. As Trevor lifted it from its resting place he felt there was something important about it. Like most magic sensations, this wasn't like an energy he could feel. It was more a sense of recognition, like seeing a resting elephant and recognizing its potential for power. Whatever it meant, this seemed to be the right one.
Trevor - "..." Following Florence and Inka's instructions, Trevor prayed to four lit candles that represented the earthly horizons, asking for their blessing. When he had completed this task, Inka encouraged Trevor to attempt one of the spells he had chosen.
Trevor - 「燃える。」 A tiny flame glowed on one finger tip. Perhaps he could use this to light the candles next time? ((Didn't want this to seem too close to Thierry's full palm of fire from the comic, with Trevor this new.)) ((Thy Dungyeon Maestyr - That's why I said it was tiny. ))Again, following Inka and Florence's instructions, Trevor walked into a circle freshly drawn with charcoal. He began to stare up intently at something unseen, gently muttering Kohonese words too quick and slurred for the unenlightened to understand. (("Too fast for humans to catch" sounded wrong to what I imagine - it's more like the words have a magic meaning which non-wizards can't hear, but the actual spoken words can turn into mush while the wizard is focused on a different type of meaning.)) His consciousness shifted from the mortal plane once again, but this time he could hear something: Voices! As he settled into the trance, one voice out of many became increasingly clear, and a word slipped unconsciously from Trevor's lips:
Trevor - 「かたづける。」
Voice - "Hello, there! You may not know it yet, but you and I are kindred souls. Yes, yes. Absolutely, we are! It has been many years since I met somebody that will understand... Well, child. Go on and tell me your name."
Trevor - "You can call me Trevor."
Voice - "Good to meet you, Trevor. You can call me Washy Wendy. Now that we're properly acquainted, how about you do ol' Wendy a favor?"
Trevor - "What is it?"
Washy Wendy - "Bring to the filthy circle you stand in two things: a scrub brush and a bucket of suds. Then call me over! Can you do that?"
Trevor - "Yes. No problem."
Washy Wendy - By the way! That mark on your poor floors is the only one of its sort I will ever allow, mind you. It serves a purpose, unlike other horrible, dirty, awful, very, very bad vandalism that marks up helpless, neglected floors everywhere!" Trevor ended the seance. Then with Florence's help he found the items Washy Wendy specified, arranged them lovingly in the circle, and said,
Trevor - 「WASHY WENDY ここに来てください。」 Splash! An unusual little lady leapt straight out from the bucket of suds. How did she manage that?
Washy Wendy - "Hello, Trevor!"

((Note edits above. I decided to continue this scene in regular non-montagey mode, & let it wrap up naturally.)) Florence- "Cute! Trevor summons fairies like I do!" Inka- "I do not think Washwendy is a fairy. She is ... She is connected to ... I do not know. She is almost like a divinity, but different."
Florence- "Whatever she is, she's charming."
The bystanding vampires were outside of the circle by the edge of the room, chatting quietly with each other while Trevor had his first face-to-face with a spirit of his own conjuring. Woop.

Washy Wendy's gentle smile suddenly twisted. Her eyes were quick to find potentially radiant hardwood flooring marred by filth. There were colonies of dust bunnies nestled in every corner of the room and heat damage from the flames and wax of untended candles. Appalled, she took the bucket and brush in her claws.
Washy Wendy - "This disarray is an insult to the craftsmanship of these quality boards!" Washy Wendy exclaimed as she began to artfully clear up wax and scorch marks. "See how this here child does not carry with him on his person a speck of dirt? Everyone should follow his proper example!"

Florence and Inka would probably have put a human with that kind of 'tude in a dumpster, but they knew spirits often had great usefulness and the price of being able to garner their favor was sometimes as easy as politesse - at least for Lepponens. Florence- "Hm. Quite. Thank you for the suggestion, washing spirit. We hadn't noticed the mess." Inka- "Ooh, it is dreadful!"
They took to their feet, in case they'd need to get out of the creature's way quickly.

Inka and Florence's timing was good. If they hadn't hustled out of Washy Wendy's way she would have lifted them up where they stood to clean beneath their feet. Trevor hid his mouth with his hand as it was difficult not smirking.
It wasn't long before the floor was looking new aside from some minor permanent damage. Satisfied, Washy Wendy thanked Trevor for inviting her in and splashed back into the soapy water.

Up on the wall, they looked down at the furious creature. Inka- "Whoa-ee. That is ... That's quite something."

((The spirit has either returned to the spirit world or thinks the bucket is her new home. Now what?))

After the spirit had vanished, Inka gave Trevor a talk about how you never know what kind of amazing power even a little spirit might have, so it's good to be polite to all of them all the time. Human wizards almost always have to maintain relations with spirits through years of sacrifices and favors, but sometimes Lepponens could charm them into working as friends by just working the politesse.
Small sacrifices and favors might be necessary for a time before a spirit got to know one well, but after that, Trevor could expect to have a cadre of spirit homies. Everyone was happy, and as day neared, Falder didn't even have to save Trevor's bootay this time.
Florence still looked a bit nervous when she came to his room near dawn, though. Florence- "Trevor?"

Florence- "Courtney is spending the night elsewhere. Apparently the stunt with Fiepilo didn't sit too well with her. Just thought I'd let you know in case you were curious. I'm sure she'll be fine."

Florence- "Mm... Just too much to take in, I guess. But it sounds like she's got stronger spirit sight now. Hopefully it improves her perspective."

Trevor couldn't understand what would be "too much to take in" about a look into the spirit world. This didn't occupy his mind for long before he became involved with some books. He read for a few more hours before giving in to his drowsiness.

With that, Chrevor probably felt pretty safe for the day. Some magic tricks, a new cell phone, all his buggles in a row, no Inka episode that night... things seemed to be coming together as well as could be expected.
