Trevor became aware that he had cat teeth and insect eyes. He could feel them from the inside. His skin turned into fire. His body disassembled. None of these things were real. He was a Trevor doll made out of insect wood. He was a light on an invisible match head.
He was Porominen, and he was up to his shins in snow. His bare toes stretched into the starchy compressed water, his breath puffed into view at the sides of his head. The horns on his head felt like a fancy hat that made him proud with their weight. His field of vision was ambiguous in the middle but panoramic in scope. He looked up to the mountain ridge, an endless river of stars spilling from beyond it, frost on the rocks reflecting them until they began to flicker violet with intensity. The Undersun fell into view, and he knew they were in the Underworld.
Giant reindeer man pelvis in the blurry chamber. Golden light fading. Inka waving her little hands. And then a grunt from above drew his attention back to Porominen's face. Porominen- "THIS WAS SUFFICIENT?"

Trevor - "Yes. Thank you, Porominen. Ah. If I can do anything for you I will."
For the short time before Trevor's sight was transferred to Porominen's the world appeared to him just as black and white as the film he spent months editing. Something in that was more fascinating to him than the beauty witnessed.
((If I got the insect wrong the description of Trevor's vision is also probably wrong. Not knowing what Trevor turns into might make descriptions difficult. By the way there's a little typo in your nice description.))

((When he was in the spirit world, everything he witnessed was more the idea of the thing than a reality, so physics and light would have been meaningless. That's an interesting subject tho. Do coccinellid beetles see in black and white?)) Porominen- "IT IS GOOD."
Inka- "Porominen, you may go now! Kunnes tapaamme jälleen..."
Porominen- "GOOD BYE."
Porominen vanished. Trevor's spirit sight was fully developed now, possibly improved by his communion with the creature. He could easily make sense of the boundaries between the spirit world and the world of the living, and saw this vanishing as it really was - a transubstantiation. Courtney- "What happened?"
Florence- "I haven't seen that often. Divinities like Porominen are more able to do things like that. Lesser spirits aren't so impressive."
The candles were nearly dead now, trailing more smoke into the air and producing little light. It hadn't been very long, had it? Inka- "You should do that next time, Courtney! Porominen shared his self with Trevor, so he could see big things. So cool."

((Oh, I assumed Trevor was briefly in his animal form before seeing through Porominen's perspective. Should I edit my last post? Coccinellids are colorblind, although they do have receptors for blue and green. Coccinellid eye sight is not the greatest, but they're not so colorful for their own eyes, after all. ))
Trevor - "Porominen was in a caribou form. I imagine many species see spirits?"
Trevor did not seem fazed as much as curious.

((That's funny that cats <and dogs, cows, and more> can see blue and green as well, must be convergent and wholly unrelated in origin since the last common ancestor was a wormish thing.)) Inka- "I guess some animals can see the spirit, but not so many."
Courtney- "What about humans? Or the other guys? Would they have seen this?"
Florence- "Yes, Porominen was manifest in the material world just now. But knowing humans, they'd come up with some excuse to not believe their own eyes. The occult remains hidden."

((So, is an edit necessary to that post or no?))
Trevor - "Did humans at first need to be taught by spirits how to summon them? Or did they discover methods?"

((Ah, who cares at this point? We're moving along...)) Inka- "That, I suppose, is a secret from a lost time. Who can say?"
Courtney- "I still can't... can't see straight. What happened? What's wrong with my eyes?"
Apparently communing with the spirit really had given Trevor a leg up on using his spirit sight. His eyes were once more focused on the material realm, while Courtney's must be out of joint with this dimension. Florence- "You're still focused on the spirit world. Try looking at the floor and focusing on the details. Or we can just go back to another room..."
Courtney- "Yes, I'd like that."

((It matters since it would be of significance to Trevor if he personally turned into a feline beetle.))
Trevor will go with the other three.

((OK then, when he was initially going into the spirit, he had better vision than a beetle, cat, or human for just a few moments. He didn't lose any human abilities while he gained some ability to translate light polarity into a deeper picture of the world - and then it promptly ceased to mean anything as he entered a world where everything is symbolic and therefore all senses were equally magical and subjective. Like seeing with your mind instead of your eyes.)) Inka- "Ooh, Travor, I should very much like to show you all of our nice things."
Florence- "And whenever you're ready we can go get your 'live collection', I think." ((don't remember if I said yea or nay to this))
Courtney- "OK... I guess I... don't really have anything to say to that... I just feel so stupid."

Trevor - "Courtney, don't feel that way. This can't be easy for you. Ah, how do you want to do that, Ms. Florence? Should that happen after I see things?" ((@"how do you want to do that?" - POWERS POWERS POWERS POWERS POWERS))

Courtney- "Thank you Trevor."
Inka- "Let us look at the nice things first."
Florence- "Sounds good to me... Trevor, we'll go out maybe a few hours before dawn and visit your dormitory when few will be awake to see..."
Trevor got farther into the future than every other character except possibly Ru, as his hours were consumed becoming familiar with all the features of his new home. Both he and Courtney had good sized rooms freshly furnished with slightly more modern fare than the rest of the place, and plenty of room to start accruing new things. There were plentiful books occult and otherwise, and a great deal of mysterious artifacts and cool decor. It was hard to distinguish what may have occult significance and what would not. The areas closest to the bedrooms of Inka and Florence were decorated to their interests - Soarian immigrant art and musical things near Florence's room, Northern Animist fetishes and strange art near Inka's...
((Anything Trevor wants to accomplish during this time?))

During the tour Trevor had asked Inka and Florence,
Trevor - "May I read any of these?" He demurely gestured to well-kept, but clearly ancient tomes of spells and enchantments.

Inka- "Sure you can!"
Florence- "They won't be of much use to you until you can work magic. It's the reason most people don't learn magic. You can try for years without anything happening. But that probably won't happen to you. Lepponens have all had an easier time of that than other lineages."

Trevor - "I am mostly curious, but thank you for saying."

Later on, Courtney seemed to be feeling better, and it seemed like time to go for Mission: Buggle Retrievage. Florence retrieved her coat and the keys to the SUV, and stood ready to leave. Courtney- "Maybe I should sit this out. I've had enough adventures tonight, right?"
Inka- "Oh that's fine. We'll have a nice time before the dawn."
Florence- "Um... You should come along Courtney, in case we need extra hands..."
There was something unspoken to this exchange. Could Trevor understand? Did he have enough information to even hazard a guess? Inka looked a bit tired, and reminded him of a grandmother who would become less lucid as a day progressed.
