Patti pedaled southward."Let's hope our luck holds." As they approached the enclave indicated on the map, she kept her eyes open for signs of danger.
4 and 3!! Oh noes!!!

They head vaguely in the direction of 125 15th Ave, and find that somehow amid the maze of cars and zombies inbetween, they seem to have become lost, and either have to carry the bikes in the appropriate direction over cars, or they will have to find another way around.
As Ashley dismounts to carry his bicycle over a barricade of cars, Patti hears an ominous scratching, screeching sound somewhere nearby, but how close it is hard to say. Ashley- Ashley mutters angrily as he awkwardly jumps on the car, hauling the bicycle after him. It seemed to open up a little bit in the area beyond. "We're almost there."

Patti froze."Shit, did you hear that? Maybe we should go around?" "I wasn't expecting so many zombies, seems the sort of thing that lady might have mentioned."

Ashley- "I don't see any zombies, but I do hear /that/..." He looks around anxiously and raises his fire ax, pulling the bike across the car hood with his free hand.
There is another loud screech, and then Patti sees it... a massive hulk of rotting, sloughing flesh, attached to a large object by several heavy chains wrapping around it and binding it through sheering motion of its flesh to the vehicle.
It takes her a moment to distinguish how human its form actually is. It seems to be entirely skinless, It turns its sighted end towards Patti. She can see the vaguest remains of a face, beaten and bloodied beyond most recognition, with empty eye sockets.

(Oop, sorry. There are zombies stuck in the car barricades! But this seems unrelated)

"We're definitely going around." Patti unfroze, ducking behind the nearest car. She scanned the surroundings quickly, looking for buildings and other objects they could use for cover in an escape. This would mean leaving their bikes behind, but they had packed lightly enough that they could carry what they had on their backs.
She detached her backpack and duffel from the bike's racks and slung them over her shoulders. She rustled in her ammo pouch for the solid shotgun slugs they had picked up previously from the police station. She had only brought four with her, so she was going to have to use them wisely...

Ashley- Ashley hesitated, he didn't like the idea of leaving the bikes behind. It had taken a long time to find these things, but at the same time, he wasn't necessarily eager to get into combat with...that... He lifted the bicycle up, as if tempted to throw it back over to the other side.
The creature was slow-moving, but bobbed and wove its head around, seeking the source of the sounds it had heard a moment before, dragging large pieces of cement behind it, attached to the chains. Where it came from or why it was covered in chains was difficult to say. It paused some 20 feet away from them and then raised its head and apepared to be listening. Patti has a choice, the thing does not seem to be able to see. If they move quietly enough it won't notice them and they can escape or pursue other avenues

Patti was pretty sure the bikes would make too much noise, unless there was a lot of other ruckus to distract the thing. She glanced around for a softball sized, relatively heavy object. She spotted a fist sized rock that had been dislodged from someone's landscaping by a car accident. She picked it up and gauged its weight for a moment."When the thing starts making noise, pick your bike up off the ground and move as quickly and quietly as possible in that direction." She indicated a street heading east, away from the current jam of vehicles they had been navigating.
She picked a car with an intact windshield about fifty feet away and in the opposite direction of her planned escape. It happened to also have another car between it and the monster. Hopefully it would make so much racket smashing and climbing over that vehicle to hear them making their escape. She took aim and made her throw.(dice roll 5! Not sure any of her combat skills would apply to thrown grenade style weapons, but I don't think even a +4 would make a difference with that roll...)

The rock misses its intended target. It seems she threw it aiming too far and the arc of its actual movement bounced off a much closer car's door. MISTHROW!
The creature grunts and turns its head anatomy towards her, or at least, in their general direction, as Ashley slides the bike off the top of the car and jumps down.
Ashley-
Ashley notices the thing making note of him, and tenses like he might bolt for it. She can see the telltale lean forward as he pauses.
However, his jawline tightens and he wisely freezes, waiting.
The creature seems to look for them a moment longer, and takes a step in their direction, before wandering away, very slowly, exposing its raw, fleshy back to her. It was hard to tell. Was this one person or two? Or many?

As soon as the creature was at a distance where she thought it wouldn't hear, she pulled out the map and made an emphatic mark. She whispered to Ash."When it gets to the end of the block, we'll head east a few blocks and then south." She peered anxiously over the hood of the car.

It swayed slowly in the right direction. Each step caused the rest of its bulk to quiver. Not a particularly comforting sight to behold, but slowly, slowly, it lumbered in the right direction, its face turning from side to side, listening closely, as it went.
Patti could swear it could at least see a little bit, but it was hard to judge how, or why. The block it dragged after it slid almost effortlessly with the strength of the monster. Ashley- Ashley slid the bike tentatively after her, once she started moving. He seemed concerned that the thing would suddenly turn around and bite his behind... (roll for Patti!)

Patti and Ashley manage to escape the scene unnoticed, and go forth towards Madrona peaceably (except for the roaming zombie hoards.
They do hear distance motorcycles as they go, however, nothing appears to obstruct their way.

(You can roll for their luck as they continue on their way, there is a chance for one more random encounter as they are on their journey)

As they draw close to Madrona Street, Patti hears motorcycles squealing about in an unseen street and some wild hooting and hollering. It sounds like at least 6-7 people, from the sound of them, young men.Ashley- "More trouble..." They stand on one of the residential streets before the nicer mansion-filled areas. There are plenty of places to try to hide should they choose to do so.

Patti didn't want a gunfight or to have to tolerate harassment without a subsequent a gunfight. She gestured towards the overgrown path beside a house. There was just enough space that they could squeeze through with their bikes. Hopefully the subsequent movement didn't give away their locations. These Mad Max types tended to be pretty well distracted with macho posturing, so she thought they'd probably be able to pull this off.
She pedaled towards the narrow opening at a high speed, flipped one leg up and over the bike, then hopped off, entering the verdant space without slowing down. She could feel branches slapping her face and body, but she pushed through so that Ash could get in behind her.
