The door next to the one that had fallen off the hinges... It opened into... a long hall, with eight, irregularly placed doors only along the left side. Looked to end a few hundred feet away.
Eli returned to just standing at August's side with his arms folded. The gigantic ceiling made him feel so very, very small. Eli- "What are we doing? Trying to find Brent, but... what if we find something else? They have to know we're out. What is all this? Another weird game?" (ORIGINALLY...) (ORIGINALLY...) Eight, irregularly spaced. There was no light but some vague heat, so the distance was blurry as blanket... Also, the first door opened easily into an even darker hall. It was hard to tell anything about it.

August- "Sure feels like it. Maybe they're testing to see which one of us is the smartest like mice in a maze or something. What's the worst thing we could find? I don't care as long as we find Brent and some kinda way outta this mess. So more doors. They could have monsters or treasure chests. Let's find out." August tried door number 2 only to discover it was another fake. He kicked it for being a dud. He looked over to see if Eli had fared better. (ORIGINALLY...) August chose the second to cut time.

Eli- "This one opens up into a hall... but like you said, video game logic -- gotta open everything before we leave."
Door three was a closet-like space again. This one had a grill on the ceiling, leading into a large, dark metal tube with a distant and faint light source.
Eli continued on, methodically opening each door and peering inside. Eli- "No health drinks yet? Promise to go halvsies with me if you do?" Eli got door number four: a fake door. He moved on.
August got door number five: a small closet. He quickly closed it.
Eli got door number six: a room full of locked filing cabinets that looked like it hadn't been disturbed in decades. He quickly closed it.
August got door number seven: A brightly lit room with red splashed all over the walls, torture equipment on racks, and a humanoid shape slumped before him with a cheap plastic clown mask on. He quickly closed it.
Eli got door number eight: Another fake door, and started to move toward the end of the hall, where it apparently made a ninety degree turn left.
August realized the room may have been worth paying attention to.(ORIGINALLY...)((Sebastian, see edit to first reply to you. Indea,)) Door two seemed to be fake. Eli's looked kind of ... interesting.
Eli yelled over to August. "August, this one leads to a hall. It's too dark, so we should leave it until we have a light source. Unless...you think we should wing it?"
Eli moved to check out door three before deciding.

August- "Jingoes! Brent!" He rushed back to the room and flicked the switch. The light switched on to the scene previously described, but...
The red splashed all over the walls was some kind of phony-looking paint. The body was a dummy, the torture implements plastic, the metal smell from some kind of exposed wires...
They sparked and the room went black for a second, then lit again. August- "It's okay!! Prop!" August headed back out of the room feeling a little silly. He moved to the middle of the room. It was time to go down the hall unless Eli had found something. August- "Did ya find anything, Eli? Don't tell me it's another hallway. We ain't got any saves if we make a wrong turn." (ORIGINALLY...) August stuck his tongue out at the fake door and followed Eli instead. This wasn't a set it was a labyrinth.

Eli- "Nope, and no save points in sight. *sigh*"
Eli- "I'm trying to not think about things too deeply. It's better to be scared than be sad, I say. Or at least, that's what I'm saying now. Time for that dark, spooky hallway?"
August- "Yup, afraid so. So let's be brave. I'll go first." He walked slowly leading the way down the dark hall.(ORIGINALLY...)Door three was a closet-like space again. This one had a grill on the ceiling, leading into a large, dark metal tube with a distant and faint light source.
EDIT - Sorry for the Indea! Sheesh. Anyhoo...

(ORIGINALLY...)"Wanna keep going? Gotta find something sometime. Or wing the dark hall?" 'This room looks like crap.' Eli made his way back to door one and August. "The third door is worthless. Do we want to briefly check the others before going through the hallway?"

(ORIGINALLY...)"If this is anything like a video game, I say we check the doors first. Maybe we'll find coins or a bonus level? Ya never know. I wanna a hot shower and fresh clothes, Cha-ching!"
"Ha, I feel you. Shit, I might actually let la mujer roja take me if she offers me a damn shower and something to wear besides this sticky gown. Ugh."
Eli started walking down the hallway and opening doors haphazardly, stopping briefly to peer in.

(ORIGINALLY...)"Yeah..there's a torture room with a person kinda thing in it. I hope to the divines it's a prop and not Brent.." August took Eli to door number 7 and slowly opened the door again.

(ORIGINALLY...)It was black now. There was a metallic whining in the dark.
As the door opened, Eli jerked back. He couldn't see much, but he could sense the metallic scent of...blood? What was going on here? August had said there was a person, but it didn't take much thought to come to the conclusion that they were dead... He prayed it wasn't Brent. That guy was kinda creepy, but he didn't deserve death.
"We.....have to check, don't we?"
