These people are seated here, underlit by an electric orb on the brocade table cloth, lit from above by cool colored chandeliers. They have champagne glasses and a bottle in the middle of the table, but don't seem very thirsty.

A strange pair, but they seem to get along marvelously. A very tiny woman (smaller than the graphic kthx) is propped up on her feet just to peek over the table. She has a motherly way with the woman next to her, an elegant woman with giant platform heels.

Knowing that he was a grown man and couldn't well rely on a young girl to be his security blanket all night, Quinn found his way over to a table on his own. This pair seemed rather un-intimidating...the little woman looked downright matronly. He walked up to a chair and gestured politely."I beg your pardon, ladies, but would you mind terribly if I joined you? My name is Quinn McCreedy." There...nice and genteel.

Small woman- "Hello, we're pleased to meet you. I'm Inka and this is Florence. I'm terribly sorry, but I don't remember what it is that you do. Can you remind us?" She smiled pleasantly, and spoke with the squeaky voice of the very small. The woman next to her smiled shyly but kept her eyes low.

Quinn took a seat with a bit of a demure smile of thanks."Delighted to make your acquaintances...and I don't mind in the least. I'm a musician, actually, mainly violin and piano. I enjoy composing and playing." He had to admit that there didn't seem to be anything distinctly 'off' about these two and it put his mind at ease. Maybe the strange occurrences from before really were flukes...figments of his over-active imagination.

Inka- "Oh how exciting! I wonder if it was fate? Florence is a talented musician herself! Sweetie, would you like to talk to him?" She looks up bashfully, and speaks with a melodious voice.Florence- "I'm a singer. What genres do you work in?"

Quinn brightened visibly, his shoulders relaxing and his posture (while still excellent) was rapidly losing rigidity. Another musical mind? He couldn't have asked for better!"My true passion is classical, but I also enjoy things like swing and jazz. I love beautiful, technical music that makes you feel rewarded simply for doing it justice." He gestured slightly to Florence, excited at meeting someone else who 'spoke his language', so to speak."And what about you? What style do you like to sing in, Miss Florence?" ...He really hoped she was a miss, still. He didn't want to offend by using the wrong honorific and you never knew...

Florence- "Actually, Jazz as well...! I sing sometimes downtown, just a little."
Inka- "She's wonderful! If only we had a piano here."
Florence- "Mama no! Hehe, I couldn't sing in front of everyone..."

"Oh no, I'm sure it would be absolutely lovely! It's been so long since I've heard a proper Jazz singer do the genre some justice. If you don't mind my asking, where do you sing?" He was sure he should have been plugging the film or drumming up business right now, but that could come later. He was swept up in the excitement of interacting with another 'true' musician.

Florence- "Mm, sometimes at the Rizz. That's funny for a young man to be interested in jazz, I mean, mostly it's just old men with funny hats, you know?"

That surprised a little laugh out of Quinn. He'd been called 'old man' before, but the funny hats thing was a new one on him."Heh, well, you never know. Maybe I'm a vampire or something like that. Perhaps I invented jazz on the sly." He rolled his eyes at his own silly joke. Weren't they all here because of a vampire movie after all? It seemed appropriate.

"Hahaha!" The two women giggled good-naturedly. Inka- "Where do you draw your inspiration from? From the heavens? If that's not too personal."

Quinn was quiet for a long moment, genuinely considering the best answer to their question. At last, he folded his hands neatly on top of the table. His face had grown a little solemn."A need to be heard. I...had problems with being heard when I was younger." He didn't elaborate, but there was clearly history there."Look out on the street any given day or read any news report. People don't listen. A woman is being attacked and she calls for help...people just put their heads down and keep going. Nobody wants to listen. However music, I've found, speaks in a way words seem to fail." He grew passionate, his tone even, but his eyes warm with the fire of purpose."More than that, music...the structure of it...doesn't lie or deceive. Each song is a perfectly crafted formula of time and pace and intention. The sound of a song will change, but you always know that if you put a quarter note next to a quarter note, you usually end up with something familiar...reliable." "I...sorry. Forgive me. That was very long-winded, wasn't it?"

Inka- "No, it's wonderful! It's nice to talk to someone who is so thoughtful. What do you think, Florence?"
Florence- "Yes, I... I agree. So um, where do you think you would go with your music in the future? I mean, if you could do anything?"

"In a perfect world? I'd want to keep playing and pushing the boundaries...revitalizing old things and experimenting with things people haven't even thought of yet. Moreover, I'd want people to hear these new things...to be changed by them. Or, if not changed, at least awakened to sensations that were always there but they just...didn't notice." He shrugged up one shoulder, still smiling and pleased to be in the company of people who just seemed to 'get it'."But it's not a perfect world. Still, that just means I'll have to work harder."
