The ballroom looked like it was ready for a summer wedding. The room was painted in varying shades of white. Paneled walls led to a tall ceiling with dangling lanterns that lit the room in dim, creamy light. Round tables were pushed along the walls, leaving space in the center for a crowd to mingle. Tables that might normally have dinners laid out on them were instead decorated with tiny tealights and bouquets of flowers. Each table with a different colored flower.
In the center of the room, a motley group chatted amongst themselves. A fair number of beautiful people, and several strange looking ones. They paused in their conversation to look at the new arrivals. Marchese- "Again, welcome friends! And welcome to our special guests. Talented artists, all of them. In light of our recent festivities, I've proposed a new game for us all." Mixed emotions played across the faces of the guests, most looking dutifully pleasant, only a couple winces and a couple leering grins. Marchese- "My younger friends do not yet know the rules, but let's not get into all that right now. First, a round of applause for our special guests!" The crowd clapped formally. Marchese spoke to the students after the applause died down. Marchese- "These people are important potential patrons seeking young artists to support. Tonight's game may win you their sponsorship! Before the game though, please, introduce yourselves and briefly tell us about your art."

A game? This had to be without doubt the strangest film meeting ever. The things he did for film.
“Hello there, August Hayes from Antearctos. I'm a film director, writer and student at BADA, my latest piece was Lychgate. I want to make films that will cause great impact on the world and live on after my death, that are beautiful and meaningful as well. Pleased to meet y'all.”

Brent- "Brent Harrisley, painting major at Bunnington, grip. Wass up?" Trevor bowed his head briefly before coming back up. A deep bow would be more appropriate, but perhaps not in Glenland.
Trevor - "Good evening, everyone. I am an insect sciences student at Harlan University. I did the editing for the film. My name is Jun Kato, but you may call me Trevor."

Leo bowed and addressed the crowd formally. "Uh, Hi. My name is Trileon Muningham - But I prefer to be called Leo - and I work as the films makeup artist. I hope to increase my knowledge of art in the future by going into some lesser known pieces, such as body painting. It's nice to meet all of you." That was quite possibly the most professional anyone in the crew has ever seen her. She knew how to make a good impression, at least.Hold the phone.. That guy with the bird in his hair.. Where had she seen him before? 'Oh my god, that's Auberon! I used to read his magazines!'
Eli- "Heyyy Eli Rojo here, uh, I'm an artist! You know, like a-- a paint-y... artist. A painter, even! If you need one, boom, I'm uh, I'm here!" That could've gone a million times better. It was just this audience! He didn't go into theater for a reason, damn it. Besides the aversion to random grabass. WTF was going on? Why did he wear this boring-ass button up? It probably still had chip crumbs on it. FUCK!(ORIGINALLY...)Eli wasn't sure he liked the sound of playing a game. He was a bit worried about screwing it up and disappointing August. 'Oh well, I'll just have to make sure that doesn't happen.' "Hi, everyone. My name's Eli Redfern. I'm a painter and digital artist at BADA. I worked on Lychgate with August and the crew, as the concept artist. What I love most about the arts is showing the beauty and breadth of the human form to others. In the future, I hope to be a professor of the arts, while working on my own pieces in my free time. I'm delighted to meet everyone. "His button-up felt snug against his body, exposing his athletic frame. In the end, Eli was grateful he'd taken his sweater off. 'Worst comes to worst, I guess I can use my body to my advantage.' He was a little embarrassed thinking this. 'It's better than letting anyone down, anyways.'

Sophie straightened her bowtie a little and cleared her throat. "Um, hello. I'm Sophie Xhu, and I also attend BADA. I'm a fashion design student, and I did the costuming on Lychgate. It's a pleasure to be here."

Courtney- "Courtney Humberbee, graphic design at BADA, promoter for the film. I like to imagine I am the reason we're meeting all of you nice people." Those that recognized Auberon could maybe tell Courtney did as well, but tried to play cool like they had.

A speech? She hadn't prepared anything ...
Time for some improv. Not her specialty, but currently a necessity. "Hello. I'm Babette Valentine, actress. It's my passion to entertain and enrich the audience, and my desire to continue honing the performance craft. I am humbled by your invitation." She smiled faintly and stepped back to welcome the next crew member's speech.

Jason entered the ballroom. He was amazed to be around such high class people. He was a bit embarrassed that his pants were still wet but, he didn't bother to think about it. "Hey,Nice to meet you all. I'm Tristan Buton but, I'd perfer it if you'd call me Jason. I'm studying to become a medical illustrator down at HU. I was a set designer for Lychgate. I'm more than happy to be here."

Ru- "Welcome, my friends...I am Mr. Ru Knight. I am the actor in charge of playing...the vampire. It is my forte to give you a visual spectacle that you would believe that these humble actors before you are siblings quivering under the power of an ancient and lonely..creature.. I stand humble before all of you, and welcome your next project." Ru spoke with all the smoothness of the creature he played, every small gesture enacted with feline smoothness, and an everplacid expression on his face. He did his best to seem to engage all of his targets before him, and make August look good. He settled near Babette as an ACTOR, a hand resting like a spider on her shoulder.

Quinn had followed in towards the middle of the group, taking time to survey the newly arrived guests. He felt a little naked under their scrutiny...and one of those guys definitely had a bird in his hair. This just got stranger and stranger."Hello, my name is Quinn McReedy. I'm a BADA Graduate and musician, specializing in violin and piano. I designed and performed the music for Lychgate.

Cameron- "Cameron Bogart, photography major, tech guy." He seemed nervous, of course.
((We can edit in Trevor's into later... Kelly will do one post after this & we'll proceed.))

Marchese- "Delightful. Now I'm sure you're all eager to hear the rules. The game will go like such: see those flowers on the tables? Your goal tonight is to earn as many of them as you can. The patrons will sit at the tables, and you will go around and chat. If they're impressed, at the end of the game they will give you a flower, and perhaps, their patronage! Good luck everyone." With that, the party goers began taking their seats at the tables arranged along the walls. ((BEGIN NEW THREAD-- START CHAPTER ONE!))
