Interesting answers! I can say now that some of you may not end up where you'd expect and some will end up exactly where you'd expect. As far as "fitting in" goes, one must remember the characters are not likely to ever quite fit in with The Circle's centenarian plus crowd.* Jack, Darren, and Tristan never got on well with their masters. Nick the Cutter found a friend, but that was too little too late... But I do want to bend things in a direction you'll enjoy the most (hopefully - such things are hard to predict), which is why I also asked how strongly you felt about which way you'd like to go. If you're flexible or not sure, I'd be less likely to put you in a specific spot. Kristi - You have a keyboard-ckatiel? I'm jelly. I usually delete missives from my keyboard cat, such as sddddddddddddddd iediiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiee// and the like. *edit - more on that: You are basically their newest murder victims / slaves, which most people won't respond to with immediate Stockholm Syndrome, I imagine. edit edit - Hm. I don't want that to be too dismissive of the possibility of your guyz getting along with a fave character. Who can say what will happen? It raises another question: Which characters would you like to interact with the most? How would you rank that? Say, for example, that Theo / Aubrey / Gaston-Louis are your faves 4ev, but you also like Helen, Vitus, Jack, and Darren... I'm interested to see what characters just naturally, by circumstance, end up being involved with the PCs. This could also be unusual because PCs in many RPGs will ignore NPCs pretty hard, and that could well be very different here. I find the way NPCs are often treated offensive - and not just the way it happens in D&D, where they are killed willy-nilly by PC barbarians. It's that it doesn't even make sense. IRL, no one has a giant label on them that says "I'M UNIMPORTANT," though some of us may feel that way ( for you). It creates a weird sort of story, where people who sometimes have very little reason to get along do so (the PCs), to the point they are a sympatico little unit in a world they largely ignore - including people they have every reason to like or get on with.

I'm not really sure at this instance, it's hard to tell. Characters I like and characters I necessarily see my character liking are different. Also it changes when your in there playing and interacting. Personally, Aubrey, Gaston Louis and Darren are among my favourites but I don't think they're characters to be buddy buddy with, Darren would be more than Gaston though. I think August would get along with most but probably more with the slightly nicer characters like Vitus, Jack, Trystan etc. I think he'd like Helen and Florence a lot too.
EDIT: There'd be some hero worship of Darren for a bit, being a big fan of the Belfries. ;D

@christopher: Pearl thinks Keyboards are the greatest. All you have to do is open a laptop and her eyes light up. It is hilarious when it isn't annoying.
I have no idea why NPCs go unloved. I personally have never played a game like that and will get just as attached to NPCs as PCs.
Characters I want to interact with etc.
Lepponen: Florence / FAIRY FOLK / Claude! / Nick (for previously stated reasons.) / Inka (oh oh oh it's magic.)
Leighton related: Theodore (Theodore and Trevor would get on so, so well.), Blockhead, Santi, Team Theodore®
Other characters I am fond of but don't know if it's as likely that Trevor will interact with them a lot: Minchin / Helen / Darren / Jack / Allison / Ellen / Beksinksi / Paolo

Good answers! I should like to discuss more, but it's the last day of NaNoWriMo and I'm about four pages shy of winning...

Allison is really cool. I kiiiinda love her goat-like form.
Awyea check this list I made! Itemize itemize itemize
DKender's 5 personal favorite characters that she likes readin bout
(this was hard to choose!)
CHRIS BEKSINKSI LUCRICIA THEODORE JACK THE MYSTERIOUS GREY MENACE WHO COULD HE BE THIERRY (okay, 6 favs, not 5)
As for my character, Val would take a shine to any mature, outwardly not mean/evil personality. It doesn't hurt if she thinks they're good lookin (por ejemplo Tristan) and/or cultured.
Appearances by Gaston-Louis and Darren (wonder what his fate will be in this plot) might be fun for the lulzies.
And I agree one hundred and ten percent with Sebastian about Igor. One hundred and TEN percent!

Kristi - I was wondering if that was a video game reference, but google doesn't think so.
I wouldn't feel too bad about that if I was you. I've tried three times and usually tapped out within a week. Getting further than that without winning feels way worse. I just knew I could do it, but it never worked out, so I'm glad to have finally proved it to myself.
But I can feel the tap-out.

Yes, yes, my preference would be of the Greyburn Lineage. c: Also I should have another part written in my story sometime this week, in case anyone was wondering why I haven't done that yet.
And question: When shall the character doodles be finished? I don't mean to sound like an anxious dick, but I'm super excited to see how mine turns out, as I am sure everyone else is pumped to see their's too. c:
Edit: @dken: My favorite characters go like this.. 1. Greyburn (Of course. <3 ) 2. Theodore 3. Jack 4. Allison 5. Thierry 6. Demmy 7. Claude 8. Karl 9. Curlyfry 10. Vitus. Those be my top-ten. Sad that dear old Vitus is at the bottom, but, at least he's there!
ULTIMATE EDIT OF EDIT-NESS. 12-9-13
Name: Trileon "Leo" Muningham, daughter to Edmund Muningham. Height: 6'1' Weight: 126 pounds Profession: Self-taught makeup artist. Eye color: A light grey. Age: 17 Who she is: Trileon mostly prefers solitude, but has no problem with social interaction, if need be. Her job as a makeup artist for the film crew she works with is a prime example of this. Often blows off work to wander parks, forests, or abandoned buildings in search of artistic inspiration. Also does the same thing during the middle of the night moreso than in the day. Because the night is dangerous, she carries a small yet sharp pocket knife with her at all times. She's had to use it at least three times, and quote-unquote, is not afraid to "Shank a bitch." She is a know Nyctophiliac. (Lover of the darkness - Finds comfort and relaxation in the dark.) Not many people in the crew she works with know this, but Trileon is practically addicted to chocolate. She always has a supply of tiny chocolates on her at all times, but manages to maintain a thin build due to a high metabolism. Has had several relationships with both men and woman, most of which that ended badly, and is currently single and hoping to stay that way until she can figure out her sexuality, but has been prone to have feelings for others since those relationships. Because of her bad experiences with relationships, she has often been that shoulder to cry on. In other words, she 'wears her heart on her sleeve', yet manages to keep that side hidden because she doesn't want to make it seem like she isn't a hard-ass. ..But she can go from the nicest person you ever met to stone cold bitch in record time. Has a great appreciation for aesthetics and the beauty of the night sky. Incredibly fascinated with the Universe - Galaxies, Nebulae, Quasars and Black Holes - You name it. It's one of the few things she actually enjoys learning about.
Her father, Edmund Muningham (Pronounced Mooning-ham) Is the owner of a small business chain of dry cleaners, with locations conveniently placed around Harlan. Dear old dad unfortunately suffers from a mild case of schizotypal PD. Because of this, he is a cold and inattentive parent - Often letting Trileon do as she pleases without so much as a yes or a no, ignoring her even when she is home, (Not like he's there that much anyways.. Apparently running a dry cleaner business takes up a lot of your time.) and sometimes forgetting she is there at all. Despite this however, he over compensates by buying Trileon hundreds of dollars in punk merch, electric guitar lessons, makeup and brushes for her new job, and essentially whatever she asks for. Edmund is surprisingly good at math despite his disorder.
Trileon was invited to the film crew after her father agreed to fund the film for August, the director, so long as she was included some how. It's not a bad gig so far. The rest of the crew seems pretty cool, and that August dude is kinda cute..

some initial drawings comin atcha pretty soon i think? as specific as i can get this minute. Trinity - I had that idea a few pages back, something that would be noted on her character background when her profile is done, about her family. (Use or discard this info as you see fit.) She's the daughter of one of the small business owners that funded the film. He suggested to the director that they find something for his daughter to do on the movie, and as luck would have it, she had a useful skill.
Trileon's dad is an eccentric business man, owner of a small chain of dry cleaners. August (the director) worked part time at one of his dry cleaners, and talked him into helping fund the movie. The dad is a single parent with some kind of social difficulties, like a very mild version of schizotypal PD, but good with numbers & such. His social difficulties make him a cold parent, which he overcompensates for by buying her expensive punk merch and so on.
Since he has trouble relating to the daughter and no help raising her, she manages to do whatever she wants - hence hanging out alone in the city at night.
So.... That's it for the moment. See you soon.

@christopher: I really like your idea for Trileon's family background. Not only is it realistic in many ways but also means Trileon makes for good vampire material since she probably won't be missing her papito too much.
I was thinking about my character's family, too:
Trevor, an only child, has parents that care for him very much. Mr. and Mrs. Kato always look to make sure their son has all windows of opportunity open.
Trevor has the sort of relationship with his folks that were they not his immediate family they probably would have never had anything to do with each other. Regardless the familial love is all there.
Mr. and Mrs. Kato have been aware of their son's romantic orientation for a good long time. While it doesn't make them love their child any less they try to ignore his differences whenever possible. Since being "out" isn't much of a thing in Kohon/real life Kohon Trevor is sympathetic to his parents feelings on the matter, but it still creates some emotional discomfort for him.
