Hm. This is an interesting semantic issue indeed. Is he a shitty asshole, or in fact an assholish shit? I just don't know. It's a question for the ages.

Definitely a holy shit shitty arsing hole.
Aha! I'll wait until my friend (who is somewhat sensitive but not a coworker) mentions PAX again and nicely explain why I'll never attend. It happens like once a month. Thank you! The social conflict has been resolved. Lalalala (that was end-of-quest gaming music).

Haha. Now you can blame someone else. That guy told me to say it!
I would not attend PAX for a different reason if I looked like a lady - gamer culture would make me hella uncomfortable. In some ways PAX has been better than average on that front, but ... it's still hella gamer dewdz in a crowded space. And since the Anita Sarkeesian freakout, that shit's only gotten worse, I'm sure.

For future reference, if anyone learns anything nefarious and horrible about Rich Burlew, please do not inform me.

Is the animation of Five Dollars from Heaven on teh Intarwebz anywhere? I wouldn't be surprised if you took it down, on account of HOLYSHITBANDWIDTH, but I wanted to show it to someone and I was unable to locate it. I found the comic version on Borfy, but not the video.

Huh, talk about coincidence. This is the second animation by a Kelly Martin I've seen today. The first was about a doctor unicorn. It was recommended by Youtube after I watched Bee and Puppycat. I like 5 Dollas better. Anyway, yeah, somebody has stolen your (Kelly's) name. Edit: Unless it's the other way around!

The reason I thought of it was this poem by e.e. cummings. in Just- spring when the world is mud- luscious the little lame balloonman
whistles far and wee
and eddieandbill come running from marbles and piracies and it's spring
when the world is puddle-wonderful
the queer old balloonman whistles far and wee and bettyandisbel come dancing
from hop-scotch and jump-rope and
it's spring and the goat-footed
balloonMan whistles far and wee

The animation was definitely cool.
I'm not a ee Cumings fan at all but I don't mind that one too much, are you really into him Brett? I'm a bit old fashioned in the poetry I like, I tend to go for Victorian era poets and the like.

are you really into him Brett? Nope, just a bit of assigned reading from an anthology in a general education required literature class.

I read ' Day of the Triffids' recently and I'm just wondering what others thought of it, if anyone has read it? Really curious about what other people thought of it.
Personally, I felt like it never really lived up to the first half, especially that first bit in the hospital. It was too rushed and really not that much interesting occurred. I know it was the period but the views on women really pissed me off too. It's meant to e a pinnacle piece of classic Sci-fi but I feel like I've read better.

@ Indea - I've heard of it (plant mosters!!!) but have not read the book or seen the movies that followed. My experience with sci fi from the fifties and earlier hasn't been great. I do like classic Star Trek, though. Too bad it wasn't "Day of the Tribbles" amirite?

I've never watched any Star Trek really, except a couple movies I don't remember as a kid. Reckon it's worth giving a go?

Haha, sadly noooo. Unless you really enjoy sci fi. I mostly like it because campy actors like William Shatner and Bruce Campbell are my thing.
