"They don't knock, but some of the other monsters are smart. I don't trust some of our neighbor's either." He rises, slowly, and looks at the other two. "I can check the peephole." He offers after a moment.

"You do that! I'm going to find Sista Sylvia and her boomstick. We can't be too careful!" Molly kicked off her inconvenient pumps and scurried away. Passing Caleb, she said, [/i]"I like Wolf's mustache better." ((To the GM - since we haven't established all the rooms, wanna do the search in imagination land? You can decide how quickly they meet up, and such.))[/i]

((It would take maybe 5 minutes, she's up in her room enjoying the breeze through an open window.)) "Molly, whatchu want right now? Something the matter?" She looks down the stairs with near skepticism, steadying herself with her remaining complete arm.

Pleasant as always! Molly wondered why a boorish extrovert like Sylvia joined the nunnery. If they ever chatted civilly, she intended to ask. Fat chance of that happening."Something is at the door ..." She called over her shoulder: "What do you see, guys?!"

"Hmph, you know the drill, ask them a question that they can only answer if they are a thinking thing. I'll cover you. Unless you want me to talk." She seems concerned though, despite her briskness and false bravado.

Wolf heard someone running barefoot up the stairs, someone light on their feet. He thought about who it might be and smiled wolfishly.
He set his empty glass on the window sill and walked out to the hall. He found Molly and the one-armed nun heading downstairs. He followed behind.[/i] "What's the noise, ladies? We're looking worried."

Anya grabbed her guitar and stood protectively in front of her little brother. She really hoped it was something innocuous that they'd all laugh about later. Or at least a deadie that was easily killed and not a demon.
Caleb huffed a bit behind from his sister. His curiosity winning out though, as he peeked out excitedly behind her.

"Someone's at the door." Sister Sylvia was a 30 year old woman though she looked like she could even have been in her late teens. She was very tall, at almost 6 feet, and was a fairly substantial presence. Could she have been an athlete once? She balanced a long bag on her bad arm, and wiped her frecked face with her good one. She seemed tense. "We'll ask a question through the door, and then come to visit." He offered, and walked past them to the waiting wood.

Wolf was straining to hear anything outside the walls and barely registered that Sister Sylvia was speaking to him.
He passed through the common room, approaching the back wall. It used to be a wall of glass doors that opened onto the rear deck, but they had built a fully supported plywood wall inside the whole thing, with one reinforced door in the center.
He stood to the side of the door and placed his ear against the wall, straining to hear the location of whatever was moving around out there.[/i]

Whatever it was, it seemed to be outside of their main doors, moving slowly, back and forth. It made a heavy movement sound, not like a shod human foot, but rather like a large animal. The sounds moved closer, and then they moved farther away, and back again. And then there was a quiet "thunk" of the thing likely tapping the front door.

Later on...Anya moved into the common room and collapsed into one of the chairs.“So, what now? What do you think the deal is with that thing?"

Wolf dropped into a chair and monkeyed with his pistol to clear the jam.[/i] "Hopefully it'll still be out there in the morning and we can get a better look at it. Maybe figure out what the hell it is." The shell casing finally popped loose and fell into the crevices of the chair. He didn't bother retrieving it.
He reholstered the weapon when he got up.[/i] "I'ma find the doc and then see what I can see from upstairs."

Molly followed Caleb downstairs. She looked at Wolf with concern.[/i] "Oh, poor thing. Your hand!" She shook her head unhappily and returned the ax to Breg.[/i] "Not to be selfish, but I don't feel comfortable sleeping by myself anymore ... is anybody looking for a roommate?"

"Molly, is everything alright upstairs? It seems to have been some kind of...mutant zombie. We find strange ones from time to time, but that is probably the strangest that we have seen." "...I can stay with you, Molly, if you'd be comfortable sharing the room with someone like me." He offers, though spares a glance towards Anya. The night is quiet, but far away, they could swear they heard an ominous howl.
