"Don't forget the questions?" Patti moved towards the door and took up a position to one side, but with her hammer at her side, so as not to startle anyone on the other side.

"Good idea, Miss Patti." Alex shouted at the door, "What is your name? Favorite baseball team? Most enjoyable board game?"

Ashley follows the others, and begins to move the shelves out of the way, he seems to think this a sign that "Tar" is real, pulling hard. "We'll get you out, we killed all the zombies."

Battleship? Battleship? Did any real human enjoy Battleship more than choices like Monopoly, Connect 4, or Hungry Hungry Hippos? Honestly. The only game more boring than Battleship was Candy Land. Maybe ... maybe demons enjoyed Battleship. Maybe hell was an eternal Battleship competition. Endless boredom. No relief! A familiar, intense fear gripped Alex, and he briefly squeezed his eyes shut. Not this again. He shouldn't be afraid. Heaven, hell. None of that mattered right now. There was a man behind that door who needed help. He was human. Just human. Humans sometimes had bad taste in board games. "I'm going in! Be prepared, guys. It might be dangerous!" The shelves had been cleared, so Alex impulsively whipped the door open.

A young man wearing goggly glasses looks at them on the other side. From his stance, probably not a zombie. His skin looks a little pasty from not being out of here in a long, long time, and behind him are many burned out mini lamps, candles, and wrappers. TONS OF WRAPPERS. The entire storehouse looks thoroughly ransacked, and many spent flashlights are nearby. He wears a packed hiking backpack crammed with things. "...Jeeze what was all that about? Who are you guys? Are there humans out there? There's some kind of monster in here somewhere." He remarks quietly, chewing on his lip.

Derek came up from the back, fairly confident most of the zombies were gone, but still wary. Derek- "What kind of monster, bro? We need to know."

"Well, like....there were some really creepy floaty smelly guys, and one really weird lady I saw somewhere...There was just something not right, she gave me this terrible headache, and she was horrible, and she let in zombies, so I ran away and hid back here...there were just too many of them...to many things, but you guys got in ok, so we can get out now. Let's just go now.."

I don't know how well our guys do their homework, but one mysterious monster that was never defined or defeated gave Micah a headache - creepy eyes man from Cornish. Summary of what was known about him: Seemed he could change space, make fake rooms appear. Seemed to coexist peacably with dark ghosts and whatever that desk thing was. Probably killed several people in his weird fake space. Could sorta glide across the floor without moving his feet. No word on weaknesses or such.
If you think your guy would know that and have made the connection, say so. Derek wouldn't know about it. Derek- "Ghosts? Fuck that shit." Derek lit up a torch immediately and looked around wildly.

Ben- "Ghosts are supposed to smell, and I haven't smelled anything stranger than expected. I wonder where they could be?" At first Ben figured it would be a waste if he lit his torch as well, now that Derek already had one going. But then he realised that ghosts might be attracted to the light, and one torch to protect a group against multiple ghosts... Well, the math indicated that at least one torch more might be needed. So Ben lit his torch and started to look around. Over there, and over there... and up there?"We'd better stick close together if those ghosts are still around. But that demon-lady? I wonder if she's split? To find some fresh humans to play with." ((To Ben everything human-looking that's not a zombie or a ghost is pretty much a demon. Yes, even ghouls. Better safe than sorry. He assumes they're just toying when they're not going all-out demonic with telekinesis and mind-control. It'd take quite a few encounters for him to be willing to rely on any kind of pattern.))

Patti holstered her hammer and offered a hand to the new guy. "Patti, nice to meet you. We're here for supplies, but we'll take your advice and try to move as quickly as possible." She turned and stepped a few feet away, then poked her head down the next aisle. While out of site, she unlocked her holster and double checked that the safety was still on. She had heard about the "owl man" at Cornish, but only in multiple second hand reports, so the whole package wasn't really clear in her mind. At least she knew how to deal with ghosts. She was behind the shelf for less than two seconds before she came back out, with an unlit flare in her hand. "We need to be quick, but we can't split up too much. Two teams. Ash, Derek, Alex, head down that way. Ben, Tarina, and I will take this half." "Remember, our primary target is animal protection, pepper spray, bear bells, alert whistles, that sort of thing. Secondary targets: backpacks, extra duffels, water purification, lightweight foodstuffs, whatever else you think will come in handy and have room for in your bag. If we load up too much here, we can make the run to the gym for protein tomorrow. Let's go."

Ashley hurried to follow the others, with an edge of urgency, and began to scoop up everything that they needed where he found it. Food, water-purification were the easiest to find, backpacks and dufflebags were more difficult to him...on the second floor, of course. As he looked around, he could smell the faint scent of vapor somewhere nearby...look at the ground look at the ground... He gathered quietly, sticking very close to the others. "Keep your eyes down, just in case." He offers quietly, seeming distraught by the notion if any kind of super ghost around anywhere. Derek- "Oh god damn..."
A dripping, unhinged-looking male ghost drifted nearby, looking dazed, and reached out with long sticky fingers.' "...!" Derek extended his arm as far from his body as possible, looking like he wished he could turn it into a pole like Ben's...
POOF! A roiling cloud of flame twisted the ghost, leaving black smoke and smithereens! Derek- "One down? God damn. Is this even worth it, man?"

Patti and Tarina are the first to stumble directly upon dark ghosts while looking for luggage. Tarina seemed to have worked here in the store, and thus had known where to go when thing went wrong. "...Mac...Hey Mac..." A woman floated before them, seemingly lifeless and half awake, smelling of gasoline and fumes. "..She...she's one of those horrible things..." He puts his hand to his chest and seems like he might run out into the still-zombieful street away from them.

Alex worked quickly to gather the supplies they needed. He could smell the dark ghosts now and felt more than a little powerless without a torch. Then again, something about the whole situation was off. How did shelves move in front of the stockroom door? Zombies and ghosts couldn't do that. Huh. Moving furniture ... what was it about moving furniture that scared him so much? It took a while, but he finally made the connection. At Cornish College, a mysterious force threw chairs violently up the stairwell. There were ghosts there, too. Lots of them. And something much, much worse that almost killed Micah. He grabbed Ashley by the arm. "We need to get out of here. We need to get out of here NOW." His voice sounded strained with fear. "PATTI! BEN! GET OUT! RUN!"

Patti averted her eyes as she lit the flare. "Don't look it in the eyes!" She brandished the flare and took a stutter step forward, like a fencer on TV, extending the flare as far ahead of her as she could reach. The flare spit and sparked as it entered the vaporous cloud, which went up in a startling burst, leaving black, ichorous wisps of black smoke in it's wake. "God damn!" Patti hadn't destroyed a ghost yet and the burst took her completely by surprise. She picked the flare up from where she had dropped it on the ground. "One more thing and we'll go."
