We may never know...) this enclave has scary cops watching over the entrance. Unfriendly! Best to leave them alone if you see them while you're out and about.

A man and a woman stepped out of the lobby walking briskly. They quickly headed across the plaza and down the stairs, avoiding old bones and other horrific creepiness. Big rats were all over the place.
They were followed shortly by another man and woman. They met up at the lower landing by the entrance of Whole Foods, to decide what to do next...
Up above, two of the jerky cops came out onto the plaza cussing. Donati- "Fucking asshole! It's gonna be all over in a week if this slides!"
Buday- "Which wa-"
Donati- "Let's go around on Denny, fast." They took off in a hurry.

Davin, Sarah, and Ashley came out of the barricade onto Westlake. Davin- "No reason to hide. Might as well make our approach as obvious as possible. Let's go pick up Jalil."

"Yes, I don't mind." He walked close to Davin, but not too close. He didn't seem to be the biggest fan of a lot of personal contact. He came unarmed, but would have told Davin to wear a bulletproof vest if he could. If nothing else, it would make tragedy a little more avoidable should it come to that. Most of these guys were a very poor shot. He was wearing a button-up shirt, blazer and dress pants with dress shoes. Normal outing stuff for him.

Davin didn't wear the vest. He did bring a baseball bat, which he intended to drop off at the last minute per Thierry's suggestion. He was wearing a clean polo shirt, slacks, and loafers.Sarah was wearing a skimpy, short summer dress as a shirt, over blue jeans and reasonably clean sneakers. She had her usual club.
The walk to Jalil's building was short, sunny, and breezy. They couldn't help but look at Pan-Pac, wondering if anyone was looking back.
They worked through the wall o' cars, strolled through the plaza, and stood in front of the plexiglass. Some young people were hanging out by a security desk, and one came over - skinny and tall. Jalil- "We haven't met. Wait, the lady I know...?"
Sarah- "Sarah. Hi, Jalil."
Jalil- "Hello. Jalil Kebede. I'm the president over here."
Davin- "Davin, I'm in charge of this thing. Pleased to meet you."
Jalil- "And you?" He looked at Ashley. Ashley thought the kid carried himself like an unarmed rent-a-cop - he'd met a lot of guys like that back in the day. Well, like Tyrone for example, which made him wonder where Greene and Page had set up shop.
Jalil was wearing typical urban kid wear - baggy jeans, oversized black collared shirt with an embroidered silver dragon and such He had a gun tucked in the back of his pants.

"Ashley Cassius." He offers him, and offers a hand when it seemed appropriate, if it did at all. He otherwise kept close to Davin, but not too close, and stood very straight. He was well dressed for someone at the end of the world.

Jalil shook his hand well, looked behind him at his crew, then stepped outside fully, letting the door close behind him. He started to step in the direction of the plaza across the street, but Davin gestured to him. Davin- "Jalil. We wanna go up Denny and get into the plaza via Terry. It'll be safer if we run out ducking bullets."
Jalil- "Damn. OK, man." They went around the back of the bullish enclave, and entered the courtyard of death, dropping their weapons where they'd be easy to grab on the way out. Davin looked at Jalil and he put his handgun in a planter.

The four people approached the door. Cops came out, with hands resting on their guns. Buday- "Stop right there, assholes."
Davin- "Take it easy, fellas. We're unarmed. We need to talk with your boss."
Graham- "The fuck you do."
Sarah- "Please? We really need to talk with him."
Buday- "No, bitch."
Graham- "Nah, fuck, you're right. Gotta do this some time. You assholes stay put. Tommy, go get Edgar.
Sarah- "Thank you." Officer Graham kept his palm on his gun and waited, while Buday hustled away.

Ashley kept his eye on the Pan Pac cronies, and waited, crossing his arms. He had a belt now, but the holster was clearly empty of anything of use.

Davin elected to keep his mouth shut while waiting with the jerk cop, and his crew just gave each other occasional uneasy smiles until the return. Edgar Pan, a peroxide blond woman, and the other three cops appeared in the lobby. Donati came out, checked them for weapons, and bustled them in the door. All the cops had guns holstered, but ready to draw. They flanked the mixed-enclave interlopers as they approached the concierge desk, where Edgar and this new lady sat. Edgar- "*sigh* What's this all about, neighbors?"
Davin- "The streets outside your building."
Edgar- "Don't care."
Jalil- "That may be, but we have to share those streets. You don't go outside but your men do."
Jocelyn- "So? You want us to starve or something?"
Davin- "I'm sorry if our presence is upsetting, but we need to get through this. We are perfectly fine with sharing the streets and any kind of resources. We know you don't want to trade and that's fine. What we can't deal with is armed aggression."

Ashley does not say a thing but watches the others intently, occasionally nodding at what Davin had to say. He studied the two who happened to be leaders but did not know anything about them.

Edgar- "Too many words. Just, just say what you mean, man." Ashley sensed a tiger inside Davin as it flexed its flexy muscles. Davin- "... OK. Your guys are shoving guns in people's faces and telling them what to do."
Edgar- "What?"
Donati- "Edgar, that's bullshit."
Jalil- "Is it? Maybe you just had a different interpretation of stuff."
Jocelyn- "I bet it is bullshit. Look at you, buttoned-down goons, and your homey."
Edgar- "Joss, come on boo. What are you guys talking about? I'm getting confused. I hate being confused."
Graham- "They're talking about bul-"
Davin- "Some of our guys went on a scavenging run and your, eh, big-boned cop held them at gunpoint, and robbed them."
Thomas- "That's a god-damned lie!"
Jalil- "Different interpretation. We're here to try to get past misunderstandings, yo."
Edgar- "You I like. You're, uh, you should be the leader."
Jalil- "I am. Across the street that way. The rest of these guys are from the 403 building that way."
Edgar- "OK, cool, cool. Um... Help me think, Joss."
Jocelyn- "OK, baby. I guess we have to hear both sides now..." Ashley remembered the younger British lady from last time. She was the one who used to come out on the balcony nude next to Edgar. What had happened to her? This lady was possibly several years older than he was, where the last was far younger. This new lady somehow seemed extra creepy in that context. ((Ashley thoughts? Might he risk speaking up?))

"It was Thomas, that guy, who held up one of ours. Are you...the same woman we met before?" He asks Jocelyn quietly, seeming unsure. They were similar enough in their own way, but what had happened to her anyways? He looked a bit less confrontational, but there was an air of knowing about him. He knew...

Thomas- "Like I didn't know that big-boned crack was about me? It ain't fuckin' true! Where's the justice?"
Edgar- "I can't handle it!"
Jocelyn- "What are you talking about, goon?"
Davin- "Ash, please! Thank you, maybe I should be the only one to talk."
Donati- "What did you do, Thomas?"
Thomas- "Fuck you, man."
Edgar- "No, it wasn't supposed to be like this, a-bluh-bluh..."
Jocelyn- "It's OK, boo."
Davin- "Can everyone calm down for a minute? Thanks. OK. Edgar, we just want you to tell your guys not to harass us on the streets. We're willing to concede the entire contents of Whole Foods to your guys, if you feel territorial about it, but aside from that, we need free reign of the streets. Can you make this happen?"
Edgar- "I- I guess."
Donati- "..."
Davin- "That's very good of you, and I'm sorry this hasn't been a pleasant visit."
Edgar- "I mean I don't know..."
Davin- "What."
Edgar- "We should talk more. Maybe in a week or two. I'm tired of this."
Davin- "Can we set a date then at least?"
Edgar- "I just can't..."
Davin- "God. Well, we'll be in touch then. Until then..." Davin turned to leave. Sarah abruptly spoke up, causing a jumpy Buday to get his gun half-drawn, before he eased up. Sarah- "Hey, Edgar. We miss the British girl. She was easy on the eyes up there. Is she still around? " Edgar perked up a bit. Edgar- "Oh, Jamie? Yeah. Wanna see her?"
Sarah- "That would be great!" Edgar abruptly left, everyone in tense mid-commotion, not knowing what to do. A minute later, he came back. Edgar- "Say hi, Jamie. It's your fans."
Jamie- "Oh, haha. Sorry I haven't been up there lately. Just felt like time to get more serious, y'know? I'm glad you liked it though, cuties."
Sarah- "Thank you, Jamie!" An awkward few moments later, and the crew was out the door. Davin- "Hey, we left weapons over here for zombies, and we're going to pick them up on our way out. I want you to know that right now, since you're all armed and seem a bit angry."
Donati- "The fuck ever. Do it and leave." They did. Jalil Kebede parted company with them at Denny, and they began walking back on Westlake. ((Does Ashley mention anything when they get out of earshot?))

"I'm sure it was him, and that was confusing. I hope it lead to something." He grumbles and follows Davin back, seeming more than a little annoyed at the residents of Pan Pac.
