Anna- "Do we have to bring a gun? They still creep me the hell out. We still don't know for sure whether people can get possessed in the day time, and I watched a cop shoot himself in the motherfucking head back at the mall. Frankly, I don't know how Patti managed to forget seeing that, or not be affected by it."
Seth- "Yeah, it's a hard decision, isn't it? What if we keep one in a bag unloaded, so if the worst should happen, the affected person will at least be slowed down on their shooting spree."
Anna- "... I guess we didn't have a problem with the shotgun you brought to Cornish. I don't know... I just remember that so clearly."

Ben- "I've thought about zombies and guns, because Abdul started shooting when he turned into a zombie. And zombies seem to only do what they're used to doing. So from that perspective it would make sense to let someone who isn't too used to guns handle the gun. Since if they'd turn into a zombie they probably wouldn't pull the trigger as some sort of second-nature-reflex-extension-of-their-body thing." But then again, planning for an occasion where someone had been turned into a zombie was a bit defeatist, wasn't it? At least possession could probably be broken, and the victim could be saved.

Seth- "Well I'm not bad with one, so who's our innocent in this bunch?"
Anna- "Don't be coy, Ben. Wanna gat?"

Ben- "Uh... no? I was thinking of someone who's had some practice, but still has to think about stuff. Like a beginner, or someone who's out of practice but still knows the basics. I've never handled a gun at all. It was just a thought. I'm sure keeping the gun unloaded would work almost as well. Safer for sure, but no good in a situation like the one we had at Amazon."

"If we need to get in and get out fast, I suggest using the motorcycle..." He frowns. "I have carried a gun with me on nearly every mission, and I have not even had to use it. If you think that will help, then I will give it to Ben, but I warn you that someone who does not know how to use it may make the situation more dangerous than not having one. I should at least teach him the basics of use." ((Ben, they would have things like that as rock-climbing gear, and they do have pads and the like. It's more outdoor sports, but it's hardcore ones too, and they'd definitely have biking stuff.))

Ben- "Oh no, I don't think we have the time to teach me any basics before we're off. Maybe some other time, before the next mission? So far it has worked pretty well to just have a gun along and usually not needing it."

Anna- "Whoa, you guys are givin' me a headache. Me and Sandy got Nora to tell us about Amazon. I think you guys coulda got out of that one without a gun. The trollish ghoul kept it tucked til the last second, right?
It's not worth considering every if in the Universe. You'll never get anything done. Let's just make a decision and jet.
By the way, Ashley, I really do prefer bicycles to motorcycles. They attract fewer zombies, and there are a lot more zombies out that way than here. And they aren't as maneuverable as bikes if you have a barrier."
Seth- "Yeah I tell you when I went out with Peg on the bike, we had zombies snappin' at our heels the entire way. No fun. So no gun then? Just wrap it up in a paper bag like an old fish? We could always have two guns on two people and then just hope someone can cap the possessed guy before he causes too much damage. Hahaha..."

Anna- "God, don't mess with me Seth! Just put that shit in a fanny pack like Patti and call it good."
Seth- "Maybe we should start calling them 'fanny holsters', hahahahaha. Okay, maybe I shouldn't drink this early..."

"I'll wear one. Bring someone else who knows how to shoot just in case if you think I may turn." He seems very blaze about the idea of changing, honestly. "I am not the best shot, but I am decent. If you think we should ride bicycles then all the better. You are right about being able to move them over barriers. Acceptable then." He nods at their wisdom, and hopes Patti comes along as well. She was the better shot, and a good leader at that.

Ben- "Right then. Let's get going." Ben reconsidered his staff. That long stick would be quite awkward to bring along on a bicycle if he had to peddle for his life. Better to just bring a couple of regular flares instead. And some duct tape, so a flare could be fastened to a broomstick in case they found one. The bokken was short enough that it could be strapped to his back, where he also had a small knapsack filled with snacks and water. Plus a knife, for whenever things needed to be cut.

Anna- "Alright then. Let's giddyup." They went to the Comm Center, threw a few words of explanation at Stevie, then went to the Garage, got whatever bikes they liked best, went out the Westlake barrier, and rolled through...The Streets! <--That's totally a link.

Out on the patio, Patti gave Ash a smile so weak it barely qualified as a smirk. "You did good with Alex. I think he's been needing a fa- ... friend. He's a little aimless without guidance. Good kid. Strong kid. Still a kid." She swigged some of the gin and made a horrible face. Coughed once. Stuck her tongue out. "Woof. *sigh* Fuck... Sure would be nice if he could've been a kid for a while." She swigged some more gin, still making a face.

Ashley glanced at his wine bottle, half empty, and seemed to decide against swigging it. "...He looked like he needed support. There are a lot of us, but not many who seem willing to act like adults. I wish some of the older folks were willing to take over some caretaking." He does a doubletake. "...Did you follow us?" He apparently had been paying attention to Alex and hadn't noticed her presence. (ninja Patti?) He then sighs and gets to his real question. "...Are you ok?" He got the idea, somehow, with the recent happenings, the answer was no.

"Yeah, I... I wanted to help Alex, but... you had that and I, well, I think he took the news better than I did." Patti didn't want to tell Ash about... the stuff... it might be too much for him or he might think she was weak or he might pity her or he might... no... better to keep that to herself. "I'll be fine." She didn't sound convinced. She swigged the last of the gin and scowled, tossing the empty plastic cup over the railing. She sighed. She almost said something else but changed her mind. She stood up and leaned against the railing. She felt bad about throwing the cup down there. She should get it in the morning.

"It seemed like Dr. Victor was a friend of yours. All of you who were here before I came were close. I have had it easy after the Police station...you lost a lot of friends afterwards. Are you sure you are ok?" He seems grim and quiet, and then takes a swig of the wine bottle. He hadn't had much to drink before this, maybe it was just his share after all. "It's...alright to be upset." He had, after all, spent his time crouching in the bathroom before. He wasn't sure what Ivan thought of those long stretches, but hoped he hadn't noticed.
