Chantelle- "I'm in the house!" She worked with the Cornish kids to finish setting up sound equipment. Kaito appeared with an electric guitar and amp.

Ashley- He blinks. Were those two going to have a dance off? Ashley leaned forward and also sidestepped the doctor a little. He may have been checking on a patient but avoiding the clinic he had been, as much as possible if he could. He grumbles and puts his hands in his pockets. He was so glad he could do that with both, and with minimal pain. He decides to interject, since his favorite young man with a ridiculous haircut has appeared. "Alex, how have your maneuvers been going? You did what I told you to practice? Has your aim improved?" He imagined given Alex's general brainpower, he probably thought he was a super agent while practicing. Bond, Alex Bond. He didn't see the humor in his own thought.

Indeed, Ashley was trapped in the Twilight Zone, a strange and disturbing realm where dance-offs happen, mmmkay? His star pupil stopped hustlin' to the patio long enough to turn and say, "Sir, yes Sir! I practiced for hours! You got to check out my skills tomorrow, Sir!" He saluted before continuing onward.

Ashley follows him, unsure about this dance-off buisness. What was the virtue of a dance off to begin with? Did it resolve conflicts? Was it like the more nancy version of a fist fight? He would never know, he decided, but followed anyways. Vaguely, he wondered, perhaps for the first time. Was Dr. Victor just a strange man, rather than a jerky one? He decided that could never be.

(OOC - a mini time warp!) Briar (to Ashley)- "It's OK! I got this now." She took the clunky equipment out of his arms and went back into the workin' zone. That part of things was just about finished!

A party percolated but had not yet formed. Seemed like the last thing to do was set up a few decorations. Wallflowers began to lurk at the periphery. Crazy times were surely imminent!

Ashley picks up another piece of equipment, and goes to help the others stack up their gear. He enjoyed having a job to do. It was something steady in his life.

With Ben and Ashley's help, the arrangements were finished and the party lights came on... Chantelle- "DJ Chantelle is on POINT! Everybody in the place to be, I swear I will not inaugurate this dance with 'Old Time Rock 'n' Roll!' ... OK, I lied!" Those piano notes sounded, summoning all who would dance to do their best Tom Cruise slide.

Patti showed up in the middle of the first dance, having brushed the hell out of her hair, so that she might wear a dashing fedora, to go with the rest of her fanciful outfit. She smoked a little while she was getting ready and she was feeling pretty good. Her immediate plan was to get a vodka tonic and maybe dance, if she could find someone that wasn't afraid of her. (OOC - Will append an image of her fanciful garments in the next post which won't be up until tomorrow.)

Ashley hung out on the side, and seemed less than concerned with dancing. He wasn't a great dancer to begin with, and couldn't think of a good part-- He noticed Patti hanging on the edges, and decided he might be able to convince her. Might, maybe. It might be worth embarrassing himself if the possibility arose. "..Hey...Patti... Want to dance?" He smothered the thought that he probably hadn't danced since the 80's. Late 80's but still.

"I'd be delighted to." There was a little smirk in her smile that said she was surprised, but not in a bad way. "Take it easy on me, I haven't worn heels this high in months."

Ashley smiled, flashing his slightly crooked teeth. His men had told him he never had a charming smile, it seemed like a rigor mortis grin at best. He didn't care, he smiled anyways. What is someone's opinion to tell him what he could and couldn't express? He laughs, it's a harsh barking sound, and moonwalks...actually proving mostly successful, though a little jerky, before coming close to her again so that they can try something more... uh...two persony. His dance moves are outdated by more than 20 years, but he's still strong and limber...and perhaps has a long enough memory to perform them without being overly terrible at the mechanics. As for how successful he is...well...

Chantelle- "Sorry about the Seger everybody! I promise I will do no evil ... until later when I drop some 'I Believe I Can Fly' on you! For now..." "Sweat" by C+C Music Factory started.
