and ended up a hard rock dude. What he neglects to mention is that there was about a year or two transition period during which we listened to the oldies station. My initial transition to hard rock was influenced in a small way by friends exposing me to Metallica, but more so by the local station and the new genre known as grunge. I still have a soft spot for Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, and half of a Pearl Jam album, but my tastes have drifted a lot in the last several years. I had an embarrassing phase where I enjoyed (shudder) Limp Bizkit and things of that sort. The last couple of months I've been switching back and forth on Pandora between my Rage Against the Machine station and R.E.M. station, with occasional forays into my MC Chris station. Oddball bands I like that I think people should check out... And, finally, my argument for why John Mayer should fire all of his producers and go straight live for the rest of his life. I never had any interest in the man's music until I saw a part of this DVD playing at a Best Buy. I still can't listen to any of his studio work (vomit!).

Rosie - You missed nothing. Yes! It is the symbol of the mighty Crowboys. A lot of people on the survey right now are interested in them. Though they aren't winning the survey, I may have to do some side work with them to appease the hordes some day.

Rasputina are awesome, I love their cover of "Barracuda" it makes electric guitars seem wimpy!
Listened to that Apocalyptica song, it's great but I'm a bit of a philistine in that I kind of need singing to enjoy a song.

Rasputina is so in-ur-face that whenthey are annoying they are HELLA annoying. But when they're awesome, they're hella awesome. It's pretty obvious to me that lady is a freakin' genius. Incidentally and oddly, the newest Dead Milkmen album has a song about her.

This chick is kinda like if Rasputina, Lady Gaga, Robert Smith and Kate Bush had an Indian baby.

I'm going to put this one out there too, it's the 1929 version of 'should I stay or should I go' and it's pretty cool in my opinion. I heard it thanks to the awesome show Carnivale, which I think people should also check out ;D.
