The large van pulled through the blockade, narrowly dodging the reporter and her cameraman as they swarmed around it. A cop held the two of them back, but they were ready to go, filming and recording, microphone out-thrust.
The doors opened and Officer Milton helped Timothy out of the van.Reporter- "Timothy Mills-- why did you murder the Bedfords? Why return to your childhood home?" He said nothing in response, though he looked at her confusedly.Dr. Maneep Pamplemousse ∆§Indea§∆

I moved to intercede between Tim and the media. In his state, nothing he might say would help his case.Ryan-- "I have already spoken on behalf of Mr. Mills, he will not answer any more questions at this time."

Reporter- "Timothy Mills, is it true that you don't remember anything about the crime? Where is William Bedford?" With your interception, and the help of the guards, they were able to pull the journalists behind the barricade and out of your hair. Timothy watched her, fascinated, and then smiled broadly, like he was just realizing something. Officer Milton- "Come on, Mr. Mills..." She and (Kristi is prescribed skeletons ) Officer Silverman helped him shuffle forward. His ankles were cuffed and he had to take tiny baby steps. It'd be a hot minute before he got to the house at this rate.

Ryan-- "Mr. Mills, Tim, please do not say anything to the police."

Timothy- "They don't matter anyway..." Officer Milton rolled her eyes but made no comment.

I moved like a ghost a close to Timothy as was safe and followed his slow steps. Why did this upstart think Mills was going to be found anything but guilty? Anything Mills said couldn't make his case any worse. The best he could plead was insanity. I was his best option for that. I could make sure he went somewhere he'd be safe and others from him. Edmund- "Exactly, Tim. This isn't about them or your lawyer, it's about you. Don't be afraid to say anything you like. This is your moment to come to terms with your actions. Mr. Brandeis-White needs to remember this and what Lieutenant Pierce said in the conference."

I shot the doctor a glance before I could catch myself.Ryan-- "I'm not sure you are understanding any of this, Tim, but I need to remind you that the doctor here was appointed by the court and works for the state. I, on the other hand, swore an oath to protect my clients vigorously and without prejudice. Even if my reasons for representing you seem insincere or dishonorable to some, I am duty-bound to defend you to the fullest extent of my ability. Anyone that works on behalf of the state that tells you to ignore your lawyer is risking judicial censure at the least. Any admission of guilt, indirect or direct, acknowledges culpability in the act and nullifies any chance at a plea based on your mental health at the time of the alleged crime."

Timothy- "...Okay, mister. We're all going to my house, weird. Did you ask my mom?" He doesn't seem to be kidding.

I just smiled and carried on. There was really no way to control this situation or client.

I raised an eyebrow. 'Got me thinking about before the police station and the way Timothy had talked to the shadows.

A nearby smell reminded me of a Thai restaurant near my hotel. They had this sticky rice pudding that was to die for. Their green duck curry was amazing as well. I had been shocked to find such a place in Detroit of all places. Usually it was diners as far as the eye could see and one could only take so much of that. I wonder what other culinary delights were hidden in this city...
It was then I realised the lawyer had been speaking, as well as Mills. It was noticeable that I had zoned out to all present. My eyes had glazed over and the corner of my mouth was a little moist. Edmund- "Uh yeah... Completely. I can see what your saying..." No. No I could not.
